Once again, you are back in the Room O Mirrors. You've all gone oout and, presumably, done something, and now it's time to talk it over and figure out what to do next. Currently, Xivilai is not in the room, leaving just the lot of your to discuss strategy, or something that's close enough to pass for it. ^_^ * Marguerite lights up a cigarette. Richard came back with Robert and Yoji, but is not currently in the room; he's in the library with Xivilai, discussing Dejiko's condition. * Togo shrugs, and hefts a large box on his shoulder. "Anyone want a Badass Snack?" ( I do. They're badass. ) * Rina giggles madly. A what? ( It's like a Scooby Snax, only.. badass. ) * Jacqueline raises an eyebrow. ( Chocolate as dark as your soul? ) * Sayuri yawns, and peers around the room. She's slumped a bit, and her hair's bright red again. "None for me, thanks." Badass Snack. Official snackfood of the Japanese Fraternal Order of Grim Badasses. Chock full of angsty goodness. ( "I won't do it." "Would you do it for a badass snack?" "Mmm..." "TWO Badass snacks?" "... Sold." ) I'll take one. * Togo hands Robert one. * Rina keeps giggling. "He's not kidding." * Robert munches. * Yoji doesn't pay any attention, instead staring pensively into one of the mirrors. Okay, people. What happened? Marguerite, Sayuri? Got 'em from my union. They're in, and they're organizing every contact we have in japan. Military, police, otherwise. * Robert nods at Togo. * Marguerite is fiddling with her plasma parts again. "Not much. Got lost. Found Dowd and Shinichi." Who? * Rina notices Yoji and walks over to him. "Hi, whatcha lookin' at?" (Crap, I mean Saiken.) * Yoji blinks and looks up. "Nothin'. Just thinking." * Marguerite (hits herself in the head.) * Rina tilts her head, then shrugs. "Okie." (Does your 'Who?" still stand, Robert?) ( Yes. ) ( I don't remember any Saiken. ) Ninja guy, was on the plane to Hong Kong with us. Ah, okay. Tendency to bleed and not notice. Any support coming from that direction? * Yoji looks at Rina. "I'm just scared, is all. We ran into some horrible stuff in America." Saiken's built up a small force. Saiken... Ah, the KoF guy! Dowd's got nothing. * Rina bites her lip and sits next to Yoji. Yeah, I think we're all scared. You wanna talk about it? Hrm. Jackie, anything? Nothing out of the Eastern Bloc. * Marguerite grimaces. Nothing, except don't count on Europe for any help. Ah...I guess. There were these huge bugs...I HATE bugs. Okay. America... we're not entirely sure yet. * Rina blinks. "Bugs?" Y'mean like evil killer man-eating bugs, or something? The Pentagon was trashed, cleaned out by giant man-eating bugs. Yeah. They were still there. Eew. * Jacqueline looks at Togo. "I did inform our friends of the potential threat, though." Good. Did you suggest a potential allience. Strategic Air Command in Omaha was deserted. Richard had some access codes, though, and we managed to get the location of NORAD. ( +? ) ( You know, those guys whose names I can never remember :P ) Jesus, Robert. What? * Yoji hugs his arms and shivers. * Jacqueline shakes her head. "Just told them to be prepared." NORAD? * Togo sighs. What's a NORAD? We might need their help, ya know. NORAD is the real military HQ for the United States. * Sayuri perks her ears. and chuckles, "So NORAD isn't just a rumor. Rave would love that." * Rina puts a hand on Yoji's arm. "It's okay. If any of them get close, I'll kick the crap out of 'em for you." The number of people who knew the location could be counted on one hand. We know where it is now. * Yoji smiles weakly. "Thanks." I want to take the whole group and go there now, see what's what. * Rina grins. "Hey, what're friends for?" So you want to just ... drop by, with tea and cookies. "Hi, we've been branded as terrorists! Want our help?" Sounds like a plan. Not exactly. But that's about as good a plan as any. * Marguerite spits her cigarette butt on the floor. I got the cookies. Hey, I'll have you know I'm not a terrorist. I'm a ghost. * Rina nods sagely. Same here. It was just you and Dejiko on America's Most Wanted, though, wasn't it? Well, those of us still alive have troubles. ( "Good afternoon, General. Care for a Badass Snack?" +) In any case, any remaining US resistance will likely be found at NORAD, so we need to at least take a look. * Marguerite growls. * Sayuri rubs her neck. "All I can hope is that there's some good stuff there." You can go alone, then. I'm not getting anywhere near NORAD. (s/alone/ by yourselves) * Jacqueline sighs and leans against the wall. * Sayuri looks over at Margie. "Why not... bad memories?" *** Atom has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) * Rina looks over at Marguerite. * Yoji looks, too. I'm not getting anywhere near any of those beaureucratic fat fucks. * Togo meanders over to Jacky, munching a Badass snack. "Want one? They're good to the last drop of burning hatred." * Jacqueline eyes is. "... It doesn't have any snails in it, right?" * Marguerite shoots a look at Sayuri. "You know." She clenches her jaw, and shovels her parts into her bag. ( is -> it ) * Rina tilts her head. Who's in? ... no snails. I'll go. You probably need someone with a bit more than just user knowledge. I'm in. It's a ridiculous idea with little to no chance of success... my kinda mission. * Rina keeps her eyes on Marguerite. "I am. We're in this together, right?" * Jacqueline shrugs. "Alright. I'll try anything once. As long as there's no snails." * Marguerite stands and walks out of the room. I'm glad you're in, Sayuri. If Richard hadn't had those codes, we'd have been screwed because you weren't here. ( +t ) Yoji? I guess I'll come. Don't see why not. * Rina gets to her feet and stretches. "What about Marguerite?" I'd like her to come, but she seems adamant about not coming. I'm not going to push her. I guess. She can't run from things forever, though. I could try noogieing her until the gives in. * Rina giggles. ( s/the/she ) If I thought it would work, I'd have you do it, Togo. * Sayuri walks over. "My advice? Leave her be." * Yoji snickers a little. "I'm never going to get used to that." Togo? * Togo tilts his head at Sayuri. "If you say so. You know her best among us... but if we get in trouble 'cause we were without her firepower, I'm going to be perturbed.' * Sayuri chuckles softly, but says nothing. Check your rounds, make sure you're not firing blanks this time. * Jacqueline grins. "If that happens, Togo, you can just glare at our enemies until they flee in fear." Togo might not be able to do it by himself. But he and fourty of his best friends can. Provided the baddies don't die laughing first. Or put them to sleep with the Official Grim Badass Union Oath of Blackened Soul. * Rina rolls her eyes. Always thought they went overboard making that oath 6 hours long... Ah well. * Yoji looks at Rina, "Do they REALLY have a grim badass union?" * Rina grins at Yoji. "Do you really want to know?" Uh...maybe not. 'course they do. Okay, now we just have to wait for Xivilai and Richard to get back in here. * Robert pulls reason out and begins tinkering with it. Don't suppose we have any kinda intel about what it's gonna take to get in... * Sayuri looks over at Margie, and back, nervously. Bet not. That'd be too easy. * Rina blinks at Sayuri. Togo, anybody who knows what it takes to get into NORAD is already on the inside. *** Sidhe has joined #chibirpg Figured. Ah well. More of the same, then. Always. (Where she went, even. c.c;) * Rina walks over to Sayuri and half-whispers to her. So what's the plan? We break in? We knock? We invite them out to a nice dinner? * Sayuri sighs, and whispers back. Yes. It's probably one of those dungeons involving boring but mandatory puzzles. Working plan right now is to knock nicely, and if they don't answer, we go in. * Rina winces. Bet we have to push a cube over a switch to get in, too. * Togo nods. "Blowing our way in won't help our image much, yeah." * Rina frowns and goes back to whispering. ... plus, somehow I think NORAD has doors that my lockgun can't jimmy open. * Sayuri frowns, and whispers back. It's going to be very, very hard, yes. * Togo chuckles. "You know, I was the impossible missions guy at GCI. They sent me on the missions nobody else was stupid enough to take." Not great for the lifespan, but it's never dull. ^_^ And you were so good at it that they decided to form a whole team for it? * Rina shakes her head and whispers a bit more urgently. Nah. * Rina shrugs. * Sayuri whispers back, and sighs, closing her eyes. Dejiko musta figured, as long as she was gonna be sending people into death traps, might as well send along someone who's used to it. This one mission, I had to bring in this weapons dealer... of course, GCI intel neglected to mention his 20 heavily-armed associates. * Rina nods slowly and continues the conversation. So there I was, on the run, they finally corner me... and they all take cover behind a big truck as they try to flush me out. *** Sidhe has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) A chemical transport truck. A FLAMMABLE chemical transport truck. * Yoji sideglances at Togo, then goes back to watching Rina and Sayuri. Always nice when the opposition makes it easy, isn't it? Yeah, yeah it is. *** Demota has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) Where is Xivilai? * Rina sighs and squeezes Sayuri's shoulder once. She turns back to the others. Hrm... wonder if Xivilai could toss a propane transport truck at someone... I don't know about her, but I'm pretty sure that Rina could. * Rina blinks. * Sayuri is standing still, eyes closed. She could be sleeping standing up. Hey, I've never tried that. ( Oh, dear. ) (^_^) Toss the truck, one of us with the big guns ignites it in midair... BOOM. We got the biggest, baddest grenade in history. *** Demota has joined #ChibiRPG Mmmm, biggest grenade in history... * Jacqueline taps her foot. Richard walks in at that moment. "Did someone just say 'biggest grenade in history'?" As a matter of fact, yes. * Rina waves at Richard. "Hi! Haven't seen you for a while." ^_^ "Neato. Where is it? Hey, Rina!" We're going to find a propane truck, have Rina chuck it at someone, and then blow it up when it's almost there. * Rina runs up to Richard and almost tackles him with a hug. "I'm tempted to ask what the English assignment is for tomorrow, and we haven't been to school in forever. Weird." * Sayuri opens her eyes, and blinks a few times. "Jesus. I'm more tired than I thought." We're going to America. Consider it an English field trip. * Yoji watches Rina and Richard. * Jacqueline watches Rina and Richard and smiles a bit. Richard hugs back. "Oof! Hey, good to see you too. And hey, you know I never payed much attention in English anyway." And a Badass Snack'll wake you up, Sayuri. Burning fires of revenge in every bite. * Rina lets go and sniffs. "That's just 'cause you could get away with it. Stupid native speakers." You should. Nine out of Ten extra-demensional civilizations speak English. * Sayuri chuckles, and stretches her fingers. "I've been goth before, Togo. I don't need your snacks to do it again." * Rina blinks at Jacqueline. They do? The one we went to spoke Japanese. That must've been the tenth one. * Rina snaps her fingers. "Ah, that makes perfect sense." * Robert flicks his earring. Richard chuckles. "Anyway. You guys saved Dejiko, huh? At least, mostly?" You could always find a nice little device that makes language irrelevant. * Yoji grins at Jackie. "They spoke Japanese in Chaos, too." Ours spoke English. Thankfully, I had Jacky's... imaginative translation services. * Rina sidewhispers to Richard, "Dejiko and Togo. Tangoing." Mostly. Where's Xivilai? We need to get going. Richard blinks once, twice, and then breaks out into laughter. After a bit, he manages to recover enough to turn to Rina and ask "Wh-what?" * Togo grumblegrumbles. * Rina smiles innocently. * Jacqueline grins. I think Togo has the comic somewhere! Richard raises his eyebrows. "Comic? This was in a comic?" * Rina nodnods. I was an alien. Thus... 'Togo, the Man From Beyond.' Richard grins. "I gotta see it. Where is it?" It's mostly Jackie's fault. I bow to her superior Togo-teasing skills. ... no comment. Comic? Hey, you never told me about that. Hey, I was just... livening up the story a bit. * Togo facepalms. * Sayuri taps her foot. And it needed livening up! I wanna see it. ^_^ I'm afraid we can't allow that, Yoji. If you see it, you could replicate it, and that would be... bad. I mean, come on! As it is, I left out the bit with the moving platforms and the pit of lava... Aw. ... yes, but you left in the scene with me using my sockets to hold peanuts. * Yoji laughs out loud. * Rina laughs. (...I don't want to know.) Richard snickers, and then clears his throat and tries to get serious. "Er, anyway. (hehehe, tangoing...) Uh, according to the nice lady who runs this place, Dejiko isn't going to be up and about for a little while. So, we have to do something on our own. ...I don't suppose you guys have any ideas on that?" We're gonna sneak into NORAD posing as cosmetics salespeople. * Sayuri shakes her head and looks at a mirror in idle inetrest. * Robert snickers. Well, Togo is half right, anyway. * Yu-Mei looks at Togo and shrugs. "Eh. I've actually heard of worse." Hey, Jackie and I could do that! ... I don't know about the rest of you, though. * Rina crosses her eyes. You helped us get the location of NORAD, so we're going. Hey now, don't you ever accuse me of being unfasionable, little girl. * Robert winks at Rina. * Yoji looks at Rina and sweatdrops. * Jacqueline grins. "This could be fun." ... are you questioning my knowledge of women's beauty care products, Rina? Yes! Good. * Rina throws a dropped Badass Snack at Togo. * Sayuri is starting to look obviously annoyed. * Togo catches it in his mouth. Richard chuckles and then blinks. "Hey, is that a Badass Snack?" Yup. Want one? * Yoji STARES at Richard. "Yeah! Been forever since I had one." * Jacqueline pouts. "You never gave me one." * Rina nearly falls over. And you miss that dark depressing crunch, right? *hands one to Richard* ...please don't tell me you're in his 'union' too. ( Err, yes I did. ) If he is, I'm gonna have to kill him. * Rina eyes Richard speculatively. ( You offered, but I never saw you hand it over :P ) "Eh? No. Knew some people who were, tho." * Togo hands one to Jacky. "Sorry, got distracted. Here, enjoy the soul-crushing sugary taste." * Yu-Mei munches on the Badass Snack. "Mmm. Hateilicious, just like I remember." * Robert shakes his head. * Jacqueline munches on it. "... I feel angry depressed, with an intense desire for revenge." *** Demota has quit IRC (Quit: Rebooting. >_< ) You worked with 'em, or just frie- well, friendly probably isn't a possibility. And they're low in cholesterol, too. Really? They ought to make great snack foods. * Sayuri traces a finger on one of the mirrors, idly. *** Sidhe has joined #chibirpg Can't have heart disease killing the badasses before they kill themselves, after all. * Jacqueline looks around. "Xivilai is taking an awfully long time. Should we just use KITT instead?" Badasses don't kill badasses. Hails of bullets kill badasses. Maybe. * Rina looks at Jacqueline and shrugs helplessly. Or grenades... rockets... knives... long falls... car crashes... Richard nods. "Xivilai's talking with some other woman about Dejiko's condition. Between the two of 'em I decided to go ahead and excuse myself." Anvils? * Yoji scratches the back of his neck. No anvils. One guy got torn apart by wild emus, though. ( Okay, the song playing right now is _totally_ inappropriate. ) * Rina pouts. ... he always was a pretty poor excuse for a badass. ( Winamp is playing "Super Duper Love Love Days" ^_^; ) Oh, and you're right Jacky. Even Xivilai liked them. (Switch it to the Happy Healing Song!) ( *snicker* ) ( Yeah! The Ska version! ) Okay, people. KITT it is. I believe her words were... "A chocolatey taste as black as my heart." She took a whole box. * Rina giggles. * Togo nods. "Lock and load, then." * Jacqueline grins. "I KNEW it!" *** KITT has joined #ChibiRPG * Yoji laughs. * Sayuri flicks the mirror, and chuckles, saying softly, "At least Margie won't destroy us all in transit." Sayuri? Please try not to get into any arguments with KITT this time? * Sayuri turns away from the mirror, and snorts, saying, "It oversteps its existance." She looks like she's not in a good mood at all. Even worse than normal, even. * Rina looks at Sayuri with concern, then shrugs. I don't care what your personal feelings are. Please refrain from arguing with him. (Wow. That's quite a feat.) *** Demota has joined #ChibiRPG We'll see. Richard shrugs. "So, uh... 'KITT' can get us back to Earth?" Yeah. C'mon, people. Time to move out. * Robert walks out the door and makes for KITT's little balcony. * Jacqueline follows, swinging her arms. * Rina hums to herself and walks after Richard. * Yoji follows Robert. (Richard, Robert, they're both going to the same place. ^^) * Togo follows. Richard nods and follows, walking next to Rina and chatting idly with her about inanities. * Sayuri clenches her hands together and follows as well. ( Richard, Robert, it's all in the mind. ) * Rina chats about inanities. She's good at that. ( ...no. ) (Bwahaha.) * Robert walks out onto KITT's little balcony. Open up. Oh, _now_ you all come to see me. ( Robard! ... no, wait, that sounds like a Robert/Ard combo. ) Satisfied to get your report from Jackie? ( ...Robard is scary. Make it go away. ) (*snerks*) ( It could be Richert... ) ( /me just pictured Roberite. ) * Rina waves at KITT. Richard blinks at KITT. "Is that a van with warp nacelles?" Oh, hi, Rina. * Sayuri is looking at KITT silently, the look of anger on her face plain to see. Don't ask. * KITT pops open the passenger door for Rina. ( Roberite? Servant of Queen Beryl? ) * Rina looks over at Sayuri and frowns. Hi KITT. ( Fusion Ha of Robert and Maggie. ) ( You filthy MAGGERT! ) * KITT waits a moment and then opens the sliding door. Yes, Richard, this _is_ a van with warp nacelles. An _intelligent_ can with warp nacelles. ( /s/van/can ) * Yoji gets in the van. * Togo hops in. "How ya doin', KITT." ( Woo! Intelligent can! I have to remember that one. ) I'm quite alright, Togo. "Neato." How are you this morning, Sayuri-chan? * Sayuri says flatly. "Not dead." KITT, no fighting today, please. Richard hops in * Jacqueline hops in the van and takes out a portable game, which she quickly gets to work on. I'm so glad. * Sayuri hops in the van. I'm sure. * Rina shakes her head and climbs in the van. * Robert sits down in the driver's seat. *** Sidhe has left #chibirpg * Sayuri sits down and briefly pulls out her Trump. * KITT closes the doors and lifts off the balcony. Please buckle your safety belts and make sure all limbs are _inside_ the van. * Robert buckles his safety belt just as KITT starts speaking. * Yoji complies. * Togo buckles. "So where is NORAD, anyway?" * Rina hums and buckles herself up. "Under a mountain." * Jacqueline does so with one hand, not even bothering to pause the game. * KITT takes off into the distance and then activates the dimensional drive. Vague yet unresponsive. That's usually Dejiko's job. * Sayuri pulls her hand across the Trump, and leans back tiredly. He's filling in. Wild colors whiz past the window in a spectacular showing of stock effects. Richard chuckles. "Yeah, guess I am. Don't expect too much, tho." ETA twenty minutes. * Rina settles back in her seat and starts playing with the ends of her hair. * Sayuri blinks, and chuckles, muttering, "Screw that." She closes her eyes, and starts breathing evenly. ... I mean, *peanuts*... those woulda hurt like hell. Why not jellybeans or something? (BRB. c.c) *grumblemutter* * Yoji hums to himself. Oh, get over it, Togo. It's published, and it's fun blackmail material. (Back). Not if I have the only copy. * Rina grins. "If." If, indeed. "Hey, I don't suppose anyone has a copy for me to look at?" NO! If you'll turn to the terminal on your left, Richard, you'll notice my scan of the comic. I'm sure there's more where that one came from, Togo. ... * Rina looks over at Togo. "He's not blushing yet. Must work harder." "Ah, excellent. Thank you, KITT." * Sayuri blinks once, and mutters incoherently, closing her eyes. ... I'm gonna shoot out your tires for this, KITT. * Yoji grins. "Alright, KITT!" Richard snickers at Rina's comment. * Yoji looklooklooks. You just leave my tires alone, mister grim badass. * Rina folds her arms. "I say we strip him of the 'grim' title. He's been way too happy and cheery lately." Happy badass? ... Yeah! Happy badass! * Yu-Mei reads. ^_^ * Jacqueline laughs at that. ... no. Just no. *** Yu-Mei is now known as Richard (Eh. Might as well.) * Richard reads the comic. ^_^ *scowlmuttergrowl* * Robert relaxes in his seat. C'mon, Mister Happy Badass. Show us a happy badass smile. ^_^ * Jacqueline grins. "You know, Togo, you're the one who showed them the comic in the first place." A moment of insanity. Suuuure. I'm still contemplating the idea of posting this comic to a temporary web page. * Richard snerks at something in the comic and keeps reading. ... * Rina laughs. * Togo slumps back in his seat. * Togo idly reaches into his coat and slips on his shades. Do those still work, Togo? * Rina raises an eyebrow at that. Huh? * Yoji gazes critically at the comic. "I dunno about posting this. The art is kinda shoddy." Your glasses. Do they still work? Well, maybe you could redo the comic with better art, and more accurate characters? * Togo blinks, and pats his face. "... yeah, they do. Heat sensors and all." * Richard chuckles. "I'm more worried about this writing." Hey! I did a fine job with the characters! Why more accurate characters? That's the fun part! ^_^ * Rina blinks, and her smile fades slightly. No, I mean more accurate visually. * Richard snickers. Yeah, Dejiko saying "My love for you is greater than a thousand gaping ches wounds" was a bit much... *scowl* Oh. Yeah, I could do that too. * Jacqueline frowns at Robert. "It's not my fault they drew you as a walrus..." Hey, hey! I haven't gotten there yet. Don't spoil it for me. This is your three minute warning. Suuuure, Jacqueline. You've got three minutes, Richard. And I know you suck at speed reading. ( I am the walrus, coo coo kachoo. ) ( ^_^_v ) Ha! I can speed read in English! It's just that I get more enjoyment reading slower, is all. Honest. * Rina rolls her eyes. "Sure you do." ( Actually, I personally DO tend to get more enjoyment reading slowly than speedily... :P ) (Most every speedreader does.) (Well, yeah. ^_^) ( I can't stand reading slowly. =P ) (Me neither. But besides the point.) ( I just don't know HOW to read slowly. ^^; ) ( Same here. ^^; ) (ANYWAY.) ( It's like reading quickly, except you do it slower :P ) KITT arrives a mile or two above the Rockies. ( Fastest I've read was about 1000 pages in a day. ) +() * Rina looks out the window. We're heeeee~eeeereeeeeeee... * Yoji looks out, too, finally taking his attention away from the comic. * Jacqueline looks outside. "... How come all the top secret stuff in the US is either in New York, Washington, or the Rocky Mountains?" probably because NORAD was built under the threat of nuclear war, and the best place to avoid fallout is under a mountain. * Sayuri opens her eyes, and mutters a curse under her breath. (The weather outside is partly cloudy, with a cool breeze from the north.) Well, shall I go to any particular mountain, Sir Richard the Laughing? * Rina snickers. * Richard snickers. "Uh? Sure, hold on, lemme check my notes." "I have road directions to get there, mind you, so it's kind of different. I'm assuming you can do off-road?" But of course. I am... fully functional. (....bad thoughts.) ( ... Winamp just started playing Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. ) ( ...un good. ) (*facepalm*) (I'm listening to Mad Machine and November Rain, counterpoint to eachother.) ( Love that piece. =P ) ( *does not recognize ND's song* ) ( Especially the Vanessa Mae rendition ) "Alright. See that road below us? That's I-14. Hop on there and follow it unti it splits onto a little backroad with no name. That goes through a couple tunnels and eventually leads you to what's essentially NORAD's front door. We can ring there and ask if they're interested in skin care products." ( I just got the theme from T2. =P ) *** Demota has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) No problem. (Tactics Intro and November Rain.) * Robert touches down on I-14 and takes off at full speed. *** Demota has joined #ChibiRPG ( Arashi no Saxophone. So it's KoF music. Big deal :P ) ( No More Words, from Inu Yasha. :P ) ( ... followed by the theme from Noozles. =P ) ( Uh... Winamp stopped a while ago and I forgot to set it going again. ::clickety::) * Rina hums to herself and swings her feet back and forth. * Togo absently twirls one of his guns. ( KITT negotiates the road like the +1 sentient van he is, eventually ariving at a fence marked 'keep out' and so fourth. There is a small wooden guard booth at the gate, and an armed soldier steps out of it as you approach.) * Richard keeps reading the comic. ^_^ ( I'm only +1? ) * KITT slows to a halt. * Rina thwaps Richard on the back of the head. Everybody ready. There's a guard here, at least. * Robert rolls down his window. * Richard winces. "Ow." The guard looks at you all from the safe side of the fence. He eyes KITT, frowning. "...Is that a van with warp nacelles?" * Rina stifles a laugh. Yes, it is. * Togo stows his gun. Get your superior on the horn, soldier. "Cool. Anyway, this is a restricted area, you aren't allowed in what'd you say?" Are you deaf?! I said get your superior on the horn! * Robert uses The Voice. "You sure did. Who the hell's sayin'?" * Sayuri rolls her neck, and glares at things. Like, say, the dashboard. Or random equipment. * Yoji goes back to looking at the comic. * Togo unbuckles. * Jacqueline finishes her game and stows it away. Robert Clark. Sergeant, 55654721 The guard frowns and says "Alright, gimme a moment." He gets back into his little booth and picks up a phone, talking into it for a while. * Robert mutters. KITT, charge the capacitors, just in case. * Rina fidgets. * KITT starts emitting a dull hum, and tension builds in the air. * Sayuri frowns, and mutters, "That wasn't there before..." * Jacqueline yawns. "Whatever they're going to do, I wish they'd hurry up." What're capacitors, and why are you charging them? ... little louder, people. The guard comes back out. "Uh, lemme open the gate, sir." (The guard does that. Meanwhile, the GM remembers to use parenthesis while using an NPC nick.) * Sayuri frowns angrily. * KITT pulls through the gates and proceeds up the road, capacitors still charged. Needless to say, time to be serious, everyone. I'm always serious! * Rina grins. "Serious? What's that?" Serious? Me? (Up the road and around a bend is a very, very large set of steel doors. They are, in all likelyhood, really really thick.) * Richard snickers as he continues to read the comic. * Sayuri doesn't bother to respond to Togo. * KITT proceeds right up to the big metal doors. No kidding, people. If these guys are anything like the military higher-ups back in Japan were, they do NOT have a sense of humor. Sense of humor? What's that? Then why're you bringing us punk kids with you, if you wanna impress them? ^^; Aww, does that mean we're not really selling skin care products? My point exactly. * Rina nods at Yoji. *shrug* Builds character. (The doors open ponderously in front of KITT. On the other side are lots of men with weapons, and one unarmed man with three stars on his helmet. He scrutinizes KITT, and mutters something to himself about a van with warp nacelles.) What, selling skin care products? To everything there is a season. No, acting professional on a mission when not doing so could get us shot. *small grin* * Rina sticks her tongue out at Togo. "Well, yeah. We already knew that." * Yoji shrugs. "If you say so." Good. Apply your knowledge. I'm always professional. * Rina rolls her eyes and faces forward again. Be calm. * Robert opens the driver's door, steps out, and salutes the general. The man with the stars on his helmet walks around to the driver's side window and looks in, raising an eyebrow. ( oops. ) * Rina mutters, "Of course I'm calm. I'm here to sell skin care products." * Yoji muffles a laugh with his hand. * Togo grimaces. * Yoji whispers "Sorry." * Sayuri is looking angry and dour enough to make up for Yoji and Rina. Grr. (Grr. Grr grr.) (The general steps back to allow the door to open.) "At ease... soldier." * Robert lowers his arm, but his posture doesn't change much. * Sayuri smirks. "Well, we've used up the 5 people that were supposed to know about this place. The inside should be pretty empty." Actually, Sayuri, most of these people don't know exactly where they are. * Richard keeps reading the comic, oblivious to what's going on. Well, good for them. Maybe they should get compasses. * Rina snickers. * Yoji quirks a smile. The general waves dismissively to the troops behind him, who lower their weapons. "So," he says "What, exactly, brings you here?" Sir, we've come in an attempt to gain the support of what remains of the United States military. "Huh. 'What remains'. Good way to put it, that. And what would you gain our support against? Godwinson?" Precisely, sir. We're gathering the world's remaining forces in an attempt to destroy him, so that we can then destroy the rest of his force. "Sounds like something out of a bad movie. I hope you're aware of the current situation, soldier." I'm aware of as much as I can be. The Pentagon was destroyed, SAC was abandoned. All resistance was crushed mercilessly. ( A... spyflick? ) * Jacqueline frowns a bit, (Heh.) (*grins*) (/me kicks Robert in the teeth.) ( ow! ;_; ) "Yeah, that is about the gist of it. We'd really like to do something, but we're trying to figure out what, first." We'll be coordinating between multiple groups. Do you have a way we can contact you? The general looks at Robert with raised eyebrow. "And unless you have some terriffic plan that you'd like to share with us, we're gonna keep thinking for a while." * Rina sighs. ( Give food to the people until their loyalty increases to 100%! ) "A way to contact us? Other than showing with some van outa' Star Track or whatever the hell?" Yes. We've got other groups, but we need to be able to coordinate them to start the attack. The plan is simple. We're going to throw all the forces we can at the enemy while a small group takes the commander from behind. Figuratively speaking. He frowns. "Yeah, we could probably make something out of that. What's the most secure form of communication you can manage?" ( Extreme variation of the Schleiffen plan. =P ) * Robert pokes his head inside the van. "Sayuri, will you come out here?" * Sayuri looks up, and mutters, "Yes, dear." as she works her way out of the van. Hey, you cheating on me, Sayuri-chan? Not now, KITT... What can you work up in the way of secure communications? * Sayuri mutters, "Only with Xivilai, rusty." She then walks over to the general, and huhms. "Well, lemme see..." Rusty my left tailpipe. Not a spot of rust on me. (The General waits patiently. Isn't that nice of him?) * Togo rolls his eyes under his glasses. * Sayuri rolls her neck, and snaps her fingers. "Will 2MB-CMES work for y'all?" I have a good keypair for that. "That will work, yes. Here, I have a pen and pad you can use if you need something to write it on." ... You're nuts, man. Writing a key down like that? * Sayuri shakes her head and pulls out a disc. "Here. It's clean, and it's got the key on it." ( Er, shit. ND will be back in a bit. Bad system crash. ) "Fine, fine. I'll hand it to the computer techs and let them deal with it." (Pause.) * Sayuri looks at the man critically. "I assume you have something similar, somewhere?" *** Robert has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) *** KITT has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) (Hurrah! KITT is dead... er, wait.) ( _ ) ( Soooo. Anybody hear any good jokes lately? ) *** Robert has joined #ChibiRPG *** KITT has joined #ChibiRPG ( Wargh. Does that count? :P ) (I got an A on my Linguistics test. Hi guys. :P) ( Re. ) ( w00t and stuff. =P ) ( Sorry about that. ) *** Richard sets mode: +v Robert *** Richard sets mode: +v KITT ('Salright. Unpause.) "Anyway. If that's all you came for, great. If you're looking to mooch supplies off of us, I'm afriad we're a bit low as-is." No, we don't need supplies. What we need is cooperation. The general nods. ( Yeah, we got an extradimensional castle to hang out at. Who needs supplies? ^_~ ) * Sayuri stands there, tapping her foot and looking around. If there's nothing you need, Sayuri, you can get back in. * Rina fidgets some more. * Sayuri shrugs. "It'd be nice if I got some sort of point of contact. Like, say, a net address to send these messages to." General? * Togo eyes Rina. "Boring's good. Boring means nobody's trying to give us lead poisioning the hard way." * Rina nods. "I know. Just a little nervous. I haven't gotten to give him the sales pitch yet." That'd at least be something to do. * Jacqueline grumbles. The General shrugs. "Fine, fine. Gimme a sec." He pulls out a cel phone, hits buttons, talks, writes something down on this pad and tears the sheet he wrote on off. On it is scrawled an ftp adress, in English. Also included is a single username and eight passwords. The general presents the sheet to Sayuri. "I assume this'll do?" * Sayuri looks at it, quirks an eyebrow, chuckles, and tucks it away. "Nice. Give my compliments to your techie." He nods. "Will do." High praise. (Little do they know, the techie is Akira!) (If it were Akira, I'd hit him over the head with my bookbag.) * Sayuri nods once, and walks back to the van, muttering, "I LIKED that keypair, too." The general turns back to Robert. "Is that all, soldier?" ( If it were MC, you just know it'd be Kirby. ) I believe so, sir. We'll be in touch to get the details worked out. The general nods. "Good, good. Dismissed." * Robert salutes and gets back in the driver's seat. * KITT turns around and drives back down the road. * Rina stops fidgeting. "So, um. What happened?" The general turns and walks off, talking with some people that approach him afterwards. We've got tentative support. Tentative? They let KITT out at the gate, yadda. They might withdraw it at any time. Bureaucrats are like that. * Jacqueline sighs once they're out of the place and slumps in her seat. "Ugh. That was insanely boring. Margie had the right idea. Should have just stayed behind." Fun. There's gotta be something else we can do. I don't like waiting. Boring is good. I like boring. * Sayuri yawns. "I can't argue. Now, to fail to catch some more sleep." Boring means I'm not dodging artillery. So...we can't count on them, then. We can count on them as long as it looks like the plan will work. We can. But they reserve the right to back out if our plan sucks. * KITT proceeds down the road and takes off once he's a good distance away from the base. * Togo nods. "Japan or America, military types think alike." Of course not. They're the military. They'll probably turn on us later for their own gains, like they do in the games. The plan *does* suck, right now. We're asking them to throw themselves in front of who knows what. * Sayuri pulls a pair of headphones out of her backpack, slips them on, and closes her eyes again. * Richard finally looks up from the comic book. "Hee, that was good." Yeah, but there're degrees of suck, right Robert? * KITT sends soothing vibrations through Sayuri's seat. * Jacqueline nods at Rina. "That's what I keep saying." Yes, there are. * Rina grins at Jacqueline. "Never said I disagreed with you." * Sayuri punches the seat until it stops. * KITT stops. Geez, try to be nice and look what it gets me. * Richard looks around. "Uh... don't tell me I missed everything?" Yeah, you did. Wasn't much to miss. * Jacqueline smirks. "If by 'everything', you mean 'nothing'..." * KITT lifts off the road and engages the dimensional drive, heading for Xiv's place again. I dunno, they were talking in English the whole time. But nothing blew up. Hey, Robert... if you were just a seargent, how'd you rate a meeting with a 3-star general right off the bat? * Yoji grins. "Cause most Seargent's don't have vans with warp nacelles!" ^_^ * Rina laughs. * Sayuri is lying back, eyes closed, with her headphones being loud, loud, loud. I don't know, Togo. Not entirely, anyway. * Richard shrugs. Well, not knowing seems to be our perpetual condition, so I guess I can live with that. * Rina pokes Richard in the side. "Hey." Given the situation, I think any private who suddenly showed up with extra dimmensional equipment would be granted an audience. Or any cosmetic salesperson, for that matter. Hmph! I didn't even get to show off the newest beauty cream. Thankfully. "Yesh?" ("Yeah?" even.) * Rina sticks her tongue out at Robert and turns to Richard. Yeah... 'Hey, general, are you interested in some lipstick?' would probably have gone over poorly... You were on Earth this whole time, right? * Richard nods. "Yeah. It was a pretty interesting stay." * Rina nods. "I bet." Do you have any ideas on what we could do 'sides just hoping that this plan will work? Not really. Unless this guy has some sort of weakness that we can find out, I don't see much we can do. And if he _does_ have that sort of weakness, I'd have to question my belief in free will. * Rina glances at Robert. "I wasn't asking you." * Robert tilts his head. "Sorry." Most people are weak against bullets to their vital areas. I still think there's a better way than this. * Richard thinks. "Lots of possibilities, dunno how many of 'em would work. Hell, we could go scout his complex, look ahead of time for a good way in when we set the plan in motion, although that'd obviously be dangerous. As for weaknesses on the guy himself, I agree with Togo." * Yoji blinks at Robert. "What do you mean, about questioning your belief in free will? You thinking then that it's some destined thing or somethin?" "Of course, there are probably dozens of excellent solutions that we haven't even condiered and will likely never think of. That's the other possibility." (KITT gets back to I 14.) How about helping in some smaller way? Like... there's got to be- what do you mean? * Jacqueline chuckles at Richard. "No, they've already deemed that scouting the place out would be a stupid idea." "Ah. Well, silly me for suggesting it then." Best he NOT know we're working against him, if at all possible. (Um... KITT's already on the way to Xiv's, wasn't he?) (Damned if I know. ^_^ ) It's not a bad idea... just not feasable with conditions how they are. Correction: KITT is on his way to Xivilai's. * Richard frowns. "Which conditions are those?" * Jacqueline sighs. "Sure it is. If he's really as powerful as you say, then he wouldn't spend too much effort trying to hunt us down." If not, then we wouldn't have to go to all this trouble in the first place. The fact that he controls pretty much the entire planet, and that we don't have the resources to get anywhere near him without a huge distraction. * Sayuri is damn glad she is trying to sleep, with loud music in her ears. Not all bad guys are as stupid as RPG bad guys, Jacky. Right. He controls the entire planet. Why would he care about us? Even Xivilai said he was too arrogant to. And I could name a hundred RPG villians who are brilliant if you want. You can still beat them. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. * Richard shrugs. "Well, he isn't looking for us. Not in any obvious ways, at least. No bounties, no wanted posters, no orders to his mechanical army, and his insect army just kills anything in their way reguardless." Yeah, but we don't get Phoenix Downs or save points. We don't need them. We got one shot only. So we take things slow and deliberate. And the longer we take, the stronger he gets, the more likely it is he'll learn about us, etc... And the stronger we get, the more we learn about him... In fighting games, the most crucial move you can make is the first one. * Richard frowns and turns to Rina. "Have they always beel like this?" (been, even.) Worse. Listen, I wanna pop a bullet in this guy as much as anyone. But we can't just waltz by his armies of bigass bugs and A-class bots. * Richard nods. "Ah." I just wanna be back at school and worrying about the next swim meet. We need all the help we can get... Why not? ... those aliens included, if possible. 'cause they'll be, y'know, SHOOTING at us. Not if they don't see us. If this guy's even remotely competant, he's got sufficient defenses around his base of operations that 'sneaking' isn't likely an option. You might be surprised. My stealth capabilities are more than sufficient to sneak past simple A-class automatons. Maybe I would. See? But what if he has more advanced detection equipment? So, um... Richard. You mentioned stuff about ideas we haven't come up with yet. And I think you're right. Then he probably knows about us anyhow, so we might as well give up. * Rina chews her lower lip. "Do ya know anyone we can ask?" I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm saying it's way too risky to just waltz in. Detection as in scanners, not crystal balls. You can pass those. Maybe. I still think we should look for options in some of these other worlds. Xivilai must know some that would be good to visit, I agree. And I know one. But my associate here disagrees. * Jacqueline nods. "That's right." * Robert begins snoring lightly. * Richard nods. "There's always ideas that someone hasn't come up with yet. As for asking, no, not really. Dejiko might have an idea or two if she were, y'know, conscious. Saiken might have some, but I doubt it. And overthrowing despots wasn't my grandfather's area of expertise. Maybe whatserface with the big blowie-upie magic would know." Meanwhile, KITT re-emerges outside of Black Mountain. Yeah, prolly. She knows 'bout everything else. * KITT lands on his balcony. * Togo adjusts his glasses. "'cause who needs a huge pool of potential allies with all sorts of advanced tech, right?" * Sayuri sighs, and opens her eyes, shoving her headphones back in her bookbag. "Anyway. Once we settle on an idea, we need to just go with it." * Richard yawns. "Damn. Haven't slept in a while. I'm gonna go see what they have to eat here, and then I'm crashing." ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ * Jacqueline reaches over and pushes Togo's shades up. "Yeah, and who needs eyes, right?" Non-sequitor. * Rina unbuckles. "Not even close. Jackie's right." * Yoji removes his seatbelt. Military history is littered with kingdoms defeated because they refused to unite against a common enemy, instead deciding to just look after their own defense individually. * Sayuri gets out of the damn van, and clenches her fists again. By themselves, they'll eventually get picked off. With us, they can do something. * Rina pushes Richard out of the van, so she can get out. Not if we eliminate the guy long before he ever gets there. * Togo readjusts his glasses, and steps out. * Yoji exits the van. ... That's the point. We might NEED them to get close. * Jacqueline just sits there for a minute. * Richard is pushed out the fan. "Right. As I said, I'm gonan get food. You wanna come, Rina?" Yeah, gimme a sec first. * Robert lets out a particularly loud snore. * Rina turns to Jacqueline. "You okay?" she asks quietly. Classic tactics. Huge force distracts the enemy while a small force... us... sneaks in and takes out the head. * Sayuri looks at her arm, and mutters softly, "Maybe I should break it again." But we need the huge force to be big enough to not get decimated. * Yoji looks at Sayuri with concern. * KITT projects softly just outside himself, "no, you shouldn't." * Jacqueline pulls herself out of the van and looks at Rina. "... No. I don't think I am." She stalks off into the castle. We can take this guy. I'm sure of it. But we need allies to get close to him... * Rina sighs and climbs out of the van. "Togo, shut up." She grabs Richard by the arm and starts dragging him to the dining hall. * Togo frowns as Jacky walks off. "s'why I always worked alone..." Sayuri? Are you alright? * Richard is dragged. @_@ * Yoji approaches Sayuri. * Sayuri chuckles darkly. "I've probably never been, Yoji. Whyever do you ask?" * Togo leans against a wall, taking off his glasses. "Inexperienced kids don't know what they're talking about... gotta play this smart. Like a professional." Well, you've seemed really...off today. More bothered by riding in KITT than usual, and stuff. Off? Jesus Christ, Yoji. The entire world is under the control of an overconfident madman, who just wants to use it as a material station. We're the only people with any sort of perspective and working will in the situation, and more than half of us are completely unprepared for it. * Yoji nods. We've got painful pasts, we're arguing pointless methods, we're all keeping stupid secrets. Yes, I'm fragging off. I'm angry and tired of all this crap. I...I can see your point. I know what we're up against, I know how little I can do, and I saw some horrible stuff at the Pentagon... But I don't think it helps for us to let it get to us like this. I dunno about everyone else, but you can talk to me about it. It doesn't help to let things fester, y'know? ... agreed. ------------------ * Richard is dragged. @_@ (delay that, then.) (Okay. Repeat it when you're ready. ^^) * Rina drags Richard in the general direction of the dining hall. Probably. Her memory isn't the greatest and all, but she doesn't seem to really care. Stupid. All of them. Stupid stupid stupid. Jackie's upset, Togo's upset, Sayuri's upset, Margie's *really* upset, Yoji's upset, I'm upset, and the only god damned person who's not upset is the one that's asleep! Hey, I'm not asleep! ...wait, you mean Robert? Yeah, Robert. He keeps ignoring things anyway, so I guess it doesn't much matter. Sufficiently advanced technology my ass. * Rina takes a turn. Y'know, it'd be funny if he had a plan all along and just didn't want to discuss it because it'd be shouted down. In fact, that's probably the case, and it's prolly an excellent plan with will never be used. Ah well. ...Don't mind me. Rambling. Happens when I'm dragged. Who, Robert? He's sorta the one that came up with the one we're kinda using now. * Rina keeps dragging Richard. "And I know. Dragged you around before, remember?" We're using a plan? It doesn't look like one, does it? Not really, no. * Richard continues to allow himself to be dragged. That's what I thought. Jackie thinks so, too. 'Course, we're just kids. * Rina sighs and slows down a little. "I... can't really think of anything much better, though. It's frustrating." Hey, I understand. 'Specially the 'just kids' part. * Rina nods glumly. "Yeah, well, I don't normally let it get to me. It's pointless to, right? Oh." She lets go of Richard's arm. How long've you been doing this stuff, anyway? Me? In a way, my first mission was when I was five. Pumped info out of a guy, led to a major raid. I was always the kid tho, see. * Rina stops and blinks at Richard. "You were five?" Yup. Wasn't really in any danger; Saiken was on the rooftop across with a rifle, and whatever else you care to say about him, he's a damn fine shot. But still, I was five when I got into the spy business, and Grampa started raising me. Which, from what I remember of my parents, is really for the best. But nevermind. Five. You're serious. * Richard nods. Yeah. Pretty messed up, isn't it? Very. * Rina goes back to walking. "That's earlier than Togo or Margie said they started, even. I think. Heck, when I was five I was worried about my crayons getting stolen." ... Though Yuko *was* around then. * Richard chuckles. * Rina grins. "You got shot at, I got humiliated. I think it evens out." Heh. What makes you think I was never humiliated? I was still 'the kid' at GCI the night before we all left. * Marguerite steps around a corner, looking very distracted and just under tipsy. She's got three cigarettes and doesn't notice either of you. "Huh. I wonder where the hell I am now..." You are here. * Rina blinks at Marguerite. Hey, Marguerite. * Marguerite turns her head kind of slowly. "Oh, wonderful. Guests. Welcome to the hallway." She gestures grandly. Nice. Love what you've done with the place. * Rina tilts her head. "How much've you had to drink, Marguerite?" Am I still walking? Yup. Well, kinda. Not enough, then. * Richard frowns. "Bad week, huh?" * Rina shakes her head. * Richard gives Rina a 'how do you wanna deal with this?' look. * Marguerite chuckles. "If you consider a week to be my life, then yes." She looks around. "Are there chairs anywhere? Doesn't do any good to get drunk enough to fall out of a chair if there aren't any around." * Rina exchanges glances with Richard, then looks back at Marguerite. We were just heading to the food place. There's chairs there. Sounds good to me. 'Kay. * Rina goes back to walking. * Marguerite follows, and does a decent job of it. * Rina actually gets closer to the dining hall, now that she's paying attention. :P * Richard follows Rina, too. Anywhoo. Yeah. You were still considered a kid? That's kinda weird, 'cause if you started at five other people must've started at five. If that makes any sense. ( You arrive there fairly soon. There is a tall pale fellow with narrow eyes that comes over to take your order as you enter. ) * Marguerite eyes Richard. "Started what at five, bodybuilding?" * Rina asks for ice cream. Or something approaching ice cream. She goes into great detail describing it. Spy stuff. And no, everyone else started after high school or college, usually. It was a family thing for me, so... * Marguerite mumbles a little something about the largest cup they have, and then falls heavily into a chair. Ah. Family like Togo. See, it's harder to do that in the US. Frown on child labour and all. * Rina considers. "Don't have a family business. Probably a good thing, since me an' my brothers were all interested in really different stuff." (The man nods. "There is something like that we can serve, yes. I hope it will be to madam's liking. And you, m'lady?" this to Margie.) * Marguerite waves her hand and repeats the bit about the biggest cup they have. * Rina goes and has a seat. Hm, chair. *** Sayuri has joined #xivilai'sdiner * Richard nods. "Yeah. But hey, I was keen on spy stuff, so I didn't really mind." * Marguerite digs in her pockets, and produces two packs of Camel Unfiltereds, a lighter, and her decanter of scotch. How long did it usually last? I mean, you were at my school for months. ( The waiter nods and turns to Richard and asks his order; Richard asks for lots of meat, bread, and water. ) (Since you're not responding to channel, and Sayuri has reason to track down both Margie and Xiv, probably Margie first... ^_^;) How do you mean? How long did which part last? Spy stuff. Missions? Whatever you call them. * Marguerite lights up. Usually missions weren't that long. A lot of times I didn infiltration when I was younger, and I did lots of footwork in my teens. Info gathering, that sort of thing. *** Richard sets mode: +o Sayuri (The man wanders off with your orders.) * Rina blinks at Richard. "You're still in your teens, aren'tcha? Unless they lied on your transcript, which coulda happened, I guess." * Sayuri wanders in, looks at Margie, and wanders over to slump down next to her (Assuming that's possible.) * Rina waves at Sayuri. * Marguerite makes a half wave at Sayuri, and raises the bottle to her lips. Yeah, I am. And I was still doing footwork. Despite the fact that I was alright in a fight, Dejiko was the only one who ever dreamed of putting me in anything near a combat situation. * Richard blinks. "Oh. Hey, Sayuri." * Sayuri chuckles weakly, and nods back towards Margie. "You were right. Staying here would have been the way to go." She waves half- heartedly R&R. (heartedly TO, even.) Yah. Nothing much happened there. Well, maybe something did, but for all I know they really were talking about skin care products. * Marguerite grimaces. "I didn't stay here because it would be boring, Sayuri. You know that." * Sayuri nods, and says softly, "I know. I know. Just saying." * Richard frowns at Margie, shrugs and turns back to Rina. "So, yeah. I got to be a spy as long as my grades were good. How bizarre is that?" Really bizarre. It's nice to know you liked it, at least. * Richard nods. "Yeah. At least there was that." * Richard grins. "So. Your turn?" * Rina blinks. "My turn? To what?" * Marguerite sits, listens, smokes, and drinks. (The waiter comes back, handing Margie a large flagon, Rina a desert made of thick cream with fruit served over ice, and Richard a large steak of some sort, two loaves of black bread, and a pitcher of water with two glasses.) * Rina blinks at the dessert, then grabs a spoon and has a taste. You know. Do the whole 'life story' bit. Oh. Well, y'know most of it, right? At least, I'm pretty sure I babbled a lot. Maybe. ... It doesn't matter, does it? * Rina blinks. *_* * Richard cuts off a piece of his stead and tries it, huming aprovingly. * Rina eats more dessert. *_* * Richard nods. "True." Heh. Pretty good? * Rina nods happily, then shakes her spoon at Richard. "And I was never a spy, either. 'Cept maybe in that holoroom. But I was a magical girl there, too, so it doesn't count." * Sayuri sighs, and waves at the waiter guy. * Richard chuckles. The waiter comes over to Sayuri. "Yes?" * Marguerite starts pouring from her decanter into the flagon. She continues until it's full./ G'me my usual lunch, 'kay, Hurath? ("Of course, madam." The waiter wanders off again.) * Rina keeps eating. "I dunno. It's pretty boring compared to you, right? I mean, I went to school and got picked on by my brothers, but it was still fun. And, um, Yuko was there, but every school's got someone like her, I'm pretty sure. Hung out with friends, went on dates, did the acting and swimming thing, kept my grades at a C." Never even had a job. * Richard nods. "Sounds nice." Well, you'd know. You lived in it for a few months. * Richard hums and nods. "Yeah. I thought it was alright, too. Didn't even live at the GCI while I was attending, which was definitely nice." (Soon Sayuri's 'usual lunch' is brought out.) * Marguerite takes a nice "healthy" gulp from the flago. * Rina eyes Marguerite. "Really goin' at it today." I have my reasons. Which I'm trying to forget. Oh. It'll just come back, but you probably don't wanna hear that. I figure, if I drink enough, I'll eventually kill that part of my brain. That'll solve everything. * Rina shakes her head and has some more dessert. * Sayuri eats some of her food, and eyes Margie. * Richard has some more meat and bread, deciding not to deal with Margie. * Marguerite takes another gulp. "Stupid Robert. That ass. Why'd he have to go and pick NORAD?" She pinches the bridge of her nose. * Richard doesn't respond to that, and looks to make sure Rina isn't going to, either. * Sayuri chuckles."Because he thought it would be logical?" * Rina doesn't look like she's about to. She finishes off her dessert. He could have pulled it out of a hat. Why the fuck did it have to be military? * Rina opens her mouth, then pauses and closes it. So that we could get military support, I assume. * Sayuri takes a bite of her salad. * Marguerite takes a fierce drink. "I'm never going to be free of him." She tosses the flagon to the floor, grabs the decanter and her lighter, and stands. She almost succeeds. * Rina blinks. "Um, maybe you should sit back down." * Richard frowns. * Richard looks over to check on Margie. (she passed out or just fallen and can't get up?) (Just flopped back into the seat.) (Ah.) Eh. I've been drunker than this. ... For some reason, I'm not surprised. * Sayuri chuckles. "Don't make me undrunk you, You wouldn't like it." I'd also be pissed as fuck. I'm drunk for a fucking reason. * Richard shakes his head. Good point. * Sayuri takes a bite of her sammich. * Richard has some more meat, bread, and water. * Rina shrugs. "I'd offer to talk to you about it, but I don't think you want to. So, y'know." She pushes the bowl away from her and folds her arms on the table, laying her chin on top of them. The waiter returns, taking the bowl and asking if Rina would like more. * Rina blinks at the waiter. "More? Sure, I guess so." The waiter nods and wanders off. * Marguerite waves her arms melodramatically. "What's there to talk about? There's a ghost living in the back of my head and he won't let me be? Feh. You can't magic memory." * Marguerite tries to stand again, barely succeeding. You can't drink it away, either. No, but it helps. (I've got to z_z. So sleepy.) Don't see how. ('Nightchikins.) Talking helps too, sometimes. (Well, she managed to stand. ^^ Sleep well, Wombat.) It has before. * Rina looks over at Sayuri. I can't do that. Later, then? * Marguerite staggers towards the door. "Maybe. Maybe I'll disappear in the basements and never return. I suppose we'll both find out soon." * Sayuri chuckles. "See ya, Marguerite." * Marguerite starts idly singing something Gaelic as she manages to barely make it out the door. (Night. ^^;) * Richard shakes his head sadly. *** Marguerite has quit IRC (Quit: What do to do live... ) * Sayuri takes more bites of her food, and chuckles. "Well, she'll live." * Rina tilts her head so her cheek is what's resting, not her chin. "Yup." * Richard nods. "Fortunately, yeah." The waiter returns with another desert for Rina. +() I wonder how Tetsuo's doing. * Richard looks up. "Your brother?" * Sayuri starts to mow down her food in a quicker manner, now that she doesn't have pesky conversation to bother her. * Rina blinks, then straightens herself. She thanks the waiter, then grabs the spoon and has a scoop. "Tastes like melodrama." * Richard blinks and snickers. Yeah. I have four of them, you know. * Richard nods. "Yeah." * Rina shrugs. "But Tetsuo was the one living far away from home. Checking on my family might not have checked on him." * Richard shakes his head. "I didn't check on you, actually. I just know 'cause you've told me." * Rina giggles. What, you didn't think I'd be some evil spy, and you spent all that time with me? Don't let Dejiko find out. * Sayuri chuckles softly. * Richard chuckles. "Astonishingly, Dejiko understands friendship, too. At least, as a concept." Oh, I'm pretty sure she understands it as more than just a concept. But she's also thorough. * Richard finishes his meal. n_n * Richard nods. "True." * Rina keeps eating. :9 * Sayuri waves the waiter over, and asks for a glass of wine. She then continues to munch on her food. But, yeah. Tetsuo. ... Actually, if he's still alive, he's probably getting in trouble. (The waiter nods and asks what sort Sayuri would like.) * Richard chuckles. "Arais can't stay out of trouble, huh?" Eh. Pick something good. I'm sure you know how, ne? * Rina grins. "Nope. And he's the smart one, too. So he just gets in more trouble." * Richard chuckles. "Well, maybe we can check up on him while we're busy saving the world." Y'know, I'd like that. I was so sure that I wouldn't see any of them again... * Rina considers, then shrugs. "I don't think the I13's worried about chasing me anymore." * Richard nods. "Well, there isn't any more GCI, and as near as I can tell the I13 was wiped out, so hey." I think the GCI'll survive, somehow. Yay for secret organizations going boom. Boo for evil magic guy taking their place. * Richard chuckles. "On the upside, I don't think the evil magic guy could care less about what anybody does, as long as they don't much in his plans." Really? Do you think we could shave him bald? "And I'm almost convinced he thinks we're dead. Which is just fine by me." I mean, he doesn't *need* hair. * Richard snerks. "Well, hey, we could always go ask." Whoo! I'll be sure to do that while offering him skin care products. * Richard snickers some more. * Rina finishes off her second dessert. Not good for her, but yum. ^^ * Sayuri chuckles, and shakes her head. "Making light of the situation, eh? Not so good for our continued survival, Rina." * Rina tilts her head. Actually, I'm really worried. And frustrated. Richard can probably back me up on that; I was bodily dragging him for something like a half hour. * Sayuri scans Richard. "Well, he's a big boy, I'm sure he can take it." She turns back to Rina. "At least you're honest about it, though." Hey, I'm honest! ... Sometimes. * Sayuri chuckles. "Never said you weren't." * Rina shrugs. "'Sides, sometimes it just doesn't pay to always be down. It gets really draining, for one." (Hey, where's my wine? <.< >.>) (Sorry, but Margie mugged the waiter in an effort to get more drunk.) (Rats! Foiled again!) (::looks back in:: Urk?) (The waiter returns with a class of a zinfandel for Sayuri.) * Richard looks up from a reverie. "Huh?" * Sayuri nods at the waiter, and takes a sip. "Mmm. Have to admit, I'm getting more used to having a little wine. S'good stuff." She chuckles at Richard. * Rina giggles. Being sarcastic all the time is tiring! Just look at you. * Rina grins. Hah! * Richard chuckles. * Sayuri takes another sip. "Eh. Sarcasm's less tiring than you think. It's when you have to work that it gets tiring." While I, on the other hand, am full of energy. The downside is that I lack a brain. But you take what you can get. Bah, I say. Awww. You do to have a brain, Rina. Shh, Richard. Don't blow my cover. * Rina looks around. "The walls have ears. ... Actually, they just might. Never know around here." * Sayuri takes another sip. "Hah." * Richard chuckles. * Rina scrapes dessert out of the bowl and pops it into her mouth. * Sayuri sighs, and knocks back the last of her wine. "I've lazed too long, I think. The world awaits." * Sayuri rubs her temples briefly. The world can wait, sometimes. (Teh magitekal sobriety spell!) (*snicker*) * Richard nods. "Yup." ( "Screw you, world, I'm goin' home." ) * Sayuri stands. "Sometimes. Not when I'm the only one who realizes that the guy we're running against can destroy our souls." And what that means. * Rina blinks. He can? * Richard frowns. "Huh. I'll have to ask whatserface about that." * Sayuri says softly, "Yeah, Rina. It's scary stuff." * Rina nods slowly. "Souls... I've never really been into that spiritual stuff, but that means we'd stop existing. Period. Kinda like Dejiko back then." Kinda like that, yeah. * Sayuri sighs. "More learning, more training. We have to be ready when the time comes. And Margie..." * Rina rubs the back of her neck as she thinks it over. * Richard shakes his head. Sometime, Margie'll come around. Or she won't, and just keep suffering. But it's her choice. * Richard nods. Doesn't mean I should just let her be. Nobody should fight a demon alone. * Sayuri shivers. * Richard frowns. "I'm hoping you meant that figuratively?" All of the above, Richard. All of the above. * Sayuri waves. "Be seeing you." Later. Take care, Sayuri. Don't hurt yourself, or I'm taking that computer away, and you're not getting it back! Hah. It'd get angry. You wouldn't like to see it when it's angry. * Richard chuckles. * Rina grins. "Wouldn't like to see me when I'm angry, either. Let me know if you need a break." Heh. We'll see. * Sayuri waves again, and walks out the way Margie went. (And off she goes to find Margie and Xivilai. She's not making much progress, is she?) Uhg. I think I need to get some sleep, too. Hate to bail on you like this, but... * Rina stretches, then leans back and sighs. She pokes at the spoon. (Not really. It's a big place.) 'Sokay. Get sleep. It was nice seein' you again, at least. ( Red Yu needs Sleep badly.) * Richard nods. "And it was good to see you, too. I'm really glad you're okay. 'Lease, as okay as situations warrant, and all." (I'll just wave out. See you to deal with the rest of this stuff later.) * Rina laughs. "Yeah? Well, same to you, so there." (G'night Mecha.) *** Sayuri has quit IRC (Quit: G'lord. It's 5 FREAKING AM. ) * Richard gets up and goes over to Rina, hugging her. "Feel free to wake me up if I'm not up and about on my own in a few hours." * Rina smiles and hugs back as best as she can, sitting on a chair and all. * Richard waves and wanders off. * Rina waves. (Shall I call it?) (Certainly. Unless you want Rina to go into a soliloquy.) (Hm.) [SIDESESSION END.]
