[SESSION START.] You are all currently either in or on your way to Dejiko's suite on the upper floors of the hotel you're currently staying in. Either way, in the living room of the suite at this moment is a sofa, a love seat, and a hastily gathered group of assorted chairs, all clustered around a collapsible table that is evidently the biggest Dejiko could find. * Robert hangs up his coat and hat and takes a seat at the table. ( Woo. 36 int :P ) (Suuuure, Jackie. :P) * Togo sits, for once. Dejiko herself is sipping groggily from a cup labeled "Give me coffee and nobody gets hurt". She's in a set of baggy pyjamas, but is still armed, surprise surprise. * Marguerite flops on the sofa, hands thrust into her sweatshirt's front pocket. * Jacqueline leans against the wall, hands behind her back. * Yoji takes a seat. It is about 10 in the morning, and the table is currently host to the remnants of the hotel's continental breakfast muffins and coffee. (All ahead full, folks.) * Rina sits on one of the chairs, fingering the ends of her hair. *** Yu-Mei is now known as Dejiko * Dejiko mumbles. "Morning, cadets." She yawns. * Robert takes a cup of coffee and a muffin. Morning, sir. * Robert eats slowly, being careful not to spill anything on his suit. * Yoji grabs a muffin. "Hi." Mornin'! * Togo nods, and grabs a croissant. * Rina stops messing with her hair when she notices the muffins. She snatches one and starts eating it ravenously. "Morning!" * Sayuri is wearing what she bought yesterday, although her hair is a dark blood red. She's wearing dark mascara and eyeshadow, and her face overall seems darker as well. ( Don't goths usually go for pale faces? O.o ) * Robert tries to avoid looking at Sayuri. "I have a mission for you, for today. It's necessary that this mission be carried out as a show of good will to some of our new friends, who we will be counting on for some while, now." * Rina glances at Sayuri, giggles, and snatches another muffin. (Depends on the imagery you want to go for.) * Marguerite leans forward and snags a muffin. Goodwill mission. What's that? "Hm? Oh. Nothing too terribly big. A bit of corporate espionage is all." I've been wondering who, exactly, these friends are. * Togo tugs at his collar, and unbuttons the top two buttons of his new shirt. "Stupid shirt..." * Dejiko gets up and groggily shuffles over to one of the coffee machines he brought in, and fills her mug back up. Corporate espionage? Espionage is bad enough, but _corporate?_ * Rina wrinkles her nose. This gonna be subtle or loud? "Right, right. Anyway." Um. Er...what do you need some of us for, then? I can't read minds too good. * Marguerite sighs, and polishes off the muffin. She's now covered in crumbs. * Rina blinks. * Dejiko sits back down at the table. "A bit of both. Gimme a sec to explain." * Rina looks over at Yoji. "You can read minds?" * Robert eyes Yoji. * Yoji scratches his neck and smiles sheepishly. "Just barely." Wooow. * Dejiko waves dismissively. "Alright. You'll be going in in two 'teams', more or less, although you will have a single overall leader. More on that later." * Rina looks at Yoji a bit longer, then turns back to Dejiko and grabs her third muffin. Hungry this morning, Rina? * Yoji blushes a bit, and eats his muffin. "You will both be doing some work in the BlueRise Enterprises building near downtown. One team will be raiding a lab in the sixth floor under the building. You don't have to worry too much about what happens there since the place doesn't exist in any legal sense." * Rina grins at Marguerite. "A little." She munches on the muffin. * Sayuri grabs a muffin as well, eating it carefully. * Dejiko continues on, groggily oblivious. "Once you're down there, there's some doolamawhatchit you need to carry off. You'll need to swipe the blueprints for this thing, too, as well as any related software." * Rina raises her hand. "Um, what's a doolamawhatchit?" I bet it's some kind of secret weapon! * Dejiko blinks at Rina, sighs, and fishes through some folders in front of her, eventually producing one piece of paper that seems right to her. "It's, uhm... some kind of magnetic regulator nozzle. Apparently essential for a new, powerful way of generating energy. Not quite my field of expertise." *** SidDAoC is now known as Sidhe Interesting. * Rina looks woozy at that and crosses her eyes. It particularly heavy? ... Which could be used in a secret weapon, I bet. *** Yoji has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) Oh, it could be much, much more than a secret weapon. * Sayuri looks over at Jacqueline, and just avoids rolling her eyes. Instead, she starts to tap one of her bracelets on the other idly. Thought so. * Dejiko shakes her head. "The prototype is a circular affair about a foot across and wighing less than ten pounds, I'm told." * Togo nods. "How heavily guarded?" Very, I'm betting. * Marguerite shrugs. "Guards do not concern me much. I want to know if the thing's going to survive if we drop it once or twice." "Very. We don't think there's room for A-class bots to work security down there, but anything else is a definite maybe." *** Yoji has joined #chibirpg ( >_< ) ( What's an A-class bot? ^_^;; ) (*patpats Yoji* ( Stupid TMOL crashed my machine. ) ( I'll fill yon in. ) * Dejiko reads her file some more. "According to this, it's solid- state, which means it's all one piece and ought to survive a teensy jar or two." ( A-class would probably be something like an Adamant Golem, but tougher. ) (No, A-classes aren't that bad, if they weren't changed from before. ^^;) (But if you want to know, ask Dejiko. ^_~) ( I don't really care. As long as it blows up when shot enough, that's fine with me. ) (For those who do not know or remember what an A-class bot is; http://www.ardweden.com/pictures/aclass.jpg) Sounds good to me. Oh, one more thing. What's are our "friends'" opinions on casualties? ( Ah, a chickenleg marauder. ) ( Or pretty close, anyway. ) * Dejiko grumbles something and drinks some more coffee. "Please, let me finish before asking more questions." (And as for the bots, the fact that BESM has the autofire attribute changes them a whole bunch. o/~) (_@) "For your part of the mission, Marguerite, enemy casualties are acceptable, although I discourage the use of unecessary force." ( Autofire and Tangle. Two great things that should _NEVER_ be put together. ) Aww, and here I thought this was going to be fun. "Anyway. As it turns out, this company is designing and prototyping this doodad for our good friends at the GCI, and, through them, the I13. Naturally, we can't let them have this neat gizmo, whatever the hell it is." If this is what I think it might be, we _definitely_ don't want them to have it. * Sayuri stretches her hands above her head briefly, and peers at Robert. "Care to share with the class?" We might just be keeping practical fusion power out of GCI's hands. Possibly even a microfusion engine. * Marguerite raises her eyebrows. Know a lot about plasmas, don't you? * Rina shakes her head, trying to get rid of the blank look on her face. "Waitaminute, fusion?" Huh? * Yoji scratches his head. I told you, Marguerite. You know roughly jack shit about me. Hm. I know a bit about a lot of things, and a lot about a few things. * Dejiko clutches her forehead and has some more coffee. That's the way I would like to keep it, thank you. ( Hey, by SimCity rules, we SHOULD be getting practical fusion power right about now. :P ) And besides, it could easily be for a plasma rifle or gauss gun. * Sayuri looks at Dejiko curiously. "You look very slagged, Dejiko." ( I'd have gotten it 1000 years ago if it was Civilization :P ) It it was for a weapon, I doubt Dejiko would have said that it was apparently for a new way of generating power. ( Yeah, but that's Civ. :P ) Why not? But that's beside the point. * Dejiko sighs. "I don't have a clue what you mean by that, Sayuri, but it's probably right." "Anyway." The MIDAS bomb from Front Mission 3 wasn't intended to be a weapon, either, but... * Robert blinks. Who cares? We need to get it. The what? I don't want to know what you're talking about. Old, old game. I'll show ya some time. Back to the briefing. *** Sidhe has quit IRC (Quit: ) "While the first team is busy with that, Robert, Jacqueline, and I will be heading to another part of the building to muck up this companie's finances. They are a major financial backer of the GCI, and we don't want them to be. So, we'll make sure that their money doesn't get to the GCI, or else ensure that there isn't any to send. I'd rather avoid that later one." "Now, as for you, Rina, Yoji; you two get to decide which branch you go on." * Rina blinks. "You didn't just pick it for us?" * Yoji scratches his head. "Uh..." ( So first team is me, Mad Dog, and Sayuri? ) (As it stands now, yes.) "I didn't just pick it for you. Frankly, you'd both be about equally useful on either end of the operation, so I decided to let you decide." * Rina shrugs. Um... I dunno. I mean, I'd be pretty uncomfortable either way, I guess, so... * Dejiko tries to sip from her mug, notices that it's empty, and goes back to the coffee machine to fix that. * Marguerite pulls out a knife from somewhere within the many bags of her clothing and slices another muffin in half. * Robert opens his mouth, but closes it again before he speaks. * Marguerite pops a muffin quarter into her mouth and munches thoughtfully. * Rina plays with the ends of her hair as she tries to figure this out. * Jacqueline stretches a bit. "So, when do we start?" * Dejiko gets back to her seat, sits, and shrugs. "The operation will begin at noon." I'll go with the second group. Wonderful. High noon... *slight smile* Do we have to worry about police response? (Idle) ( gah. ) * Dejiko nods. "Most of the polite happy corporate drones will be at lunch at that time. And your team doesn't, Togo, but Robert's does, which is the main reason I'm sending him on that part." * Togo tilts his head slightly, but doesn't press the issue. * Marguerite builds a tiny house of muffin bricks on the arm of the couch. She's quite pointedly not paying attention. (Sorry, my dad's lecturing to me. Dunno if he'll be back or not.) * Dejiko notes Togo's response. "Also, Robert's team will have to dress buisness formal or buisness. I understand some of you have certain reservations about that." (+casual after the second 'buisness') Rina, you might want to go with the first team. They could probably use your strength. * Rina nods at Robert and continues to play with the ends of her hair. "Alright, so that's settled. Yoji?" * Yoji sweats. "Er, more worried that I don't exactly fit the image, even with the right clothes." ^_^;; Does that mean I can switch back to my usual attire, or am I stuck with the new look for this? Yes? "You can dress your usual way, Togo." * Togo nods. * Dejiko looks blearily about. "Any more questions?" Um, what were you asking me, Dejiko? ^_^;; * Marguerite perks up. "Yeah, were there any oranges that came with this thing?" She gestures at the breakfast. "Oh, right. Yoji, which operation would you like to go on? The lab raid or the accounting raid? And no, Marguerite, there weren't." Damn. He said he was coming with us, Dejiko. * Dejiko blinks a few times. "He did? Alright, then." And if he really can read minds, that could be very useful. * Rina peers at Dejiko. "You need more sleep." "Yes, I do." * Marguerite stands. "Can we go, then?" "Yes, you can. Dismissed. Everybody get dressed as suits your part, and meet in the parking lot in two hours." Oh, Marguerite... ...try not to bring the building down while we're still in it. * Yoji looks at Dejiko. "Do I need more formal clothes for this mission?" He's wearing the blue shirt and black pants that Rina picked for him yesterday. * Marguerite smiles sweetly. "Oh, I'm sure I won't cause THAT much damage, dear Robert." She flutters her eyelashes, then snorts derisively and strides out. * Togo nods, and goes to go put on his normal clothes. * Dejiko lays her head down on the table. "I defer all matters of Fashion to Jacqueline, Robert, or Rina." * Jacqueline grins at that. Eheh. Sorry. Heh. * Rina laughs, then gets to her feet and stretches. "Wanna do something before we go, Jackie?" * Sayuri stands slowly on her heels, and shakes her head. * Robert walks over to the coat rack, reaches into his coat, and pulls out a box. K'. * Yoji looks to Rina and Jackie. * Robert hands the box to Yoji. * Rina grins at Yoji. * Yoji opens the bix curiously. ( box, even ) Here. Dressing up can't hurt the image, and dress casual might hurt it. ( Inside the box is a business suit, black, cut to fit you. ) * Yoji sighs. "Alright." * Dejiko begins to snore softly. * Yoji blinks and looks in Dejiko's direction, then stifles a laugh. * Jacqueline looks from Dejiko to the others. "Hey, you think she's up for this?" She'll be fine. If nothing else, there's always caffeine. I dunno. Hope so. * Togo reappears, clad in his typical all-black. "Ah, good ol' armored clothing..." * Sayuri walks out of the room to gather her stuff. "At least Dejiko's smart." * Yoji goes to get changed. * Togo grabs an apple, eyes Dejiko, then heads back to his room. * Jacqueline sighs and shrugs. (I believe I will sliptime through the next two hours. Gimme a second to make things ready.) You want a suit, Jackie? Nah. The clothes we bought earlier should suffice. As you like. I can't force you. Two hours later, in the parking lot... * Dejiko is dressed in a buisness outfit, and is still rather bleary- eyed. She is standing next to a black limosine. * Marguerite has abandoned her previous hairstyle for a set of two pigtails instead. I hope we all don't have to fit into that... * Yoji is now dressed in a black suit, and looks distinctly uncomfortable. "Man, I'd hoped that after I graduated I'd never have to dress like this again." * Togo checks his guns, sword, grenades, and other assorted tchotchkas. Get used to it. Disguises are just like any other sort of environmental camo. * Rina hops up and down. She's back in jeans and a t-shirt, but still doesn't look quite herself thanks to the different hairstyle. Bleh. * Sayuri is still wearing what she did before, with her backpack one- shouldered. She is standing silently. ... dressed for action, Sayuri? * Dejiko yawns a very long yawn, and then says "Actually, Robert, Yoji, Jaqueline and I will be taking the limo. The rest of you will be going there in KITT." *** KITT has joined #ChibiRPG Woo fucking hoo. * Jacqueline grins a bit. "Robert's not driving?" * KITT pulls into the lot, shining from a fresh scrub. * Rina waves at KITT. Can we drop it down the sewer to hide it? * Sayuri looks at Togo through half closed eyes, and stretches her arms out to her sides. "Always." Aw, poor Maggie. You insult me so, but not half so much as Sayuri. "Everyone ready?" That is because Sayuri cares whether or not you've been insulted. * Jacqueline nods. "All set. I'm ready. Ready. * Togo mutters something, then heads to the van. (Thunderbirds are go!) I'm certainly ready. * KITT pops open the doors. * Dejiko nods. "Alright, then. Let's get going, then." * Marguerite nods, then climbs into the back. * Yoji boards the limo. Please keep all limbs _inside_ the van at all times. And don't forget to buckle your safety belts. * Dejiko climbs into the limo, takes her shoes off, and lies down on one of the limo's seats. * Robert climbs in behind Dejiko. * Rina gets in the van and buckles up. * Dejiko promptly falls asleep. * Jacqueline climbs into the limo and leans back, arms behind her head. So who's driving? I am. Who else? * Sayuri climbs into KITT, and sits down. "To respond to your little jibe, I feel no need to sooth the feelings of something that..." she pauses, "can't truly understand death." I can't understand death? ... point. I'll sit in the driver's seat, to keep up appearances. There is a saying... When one knows not of that which one speaks, one's mouth is best used for chewing. * Marguerite chuckles, and pulls out Bubba. For once, it's not already on. She begins the warm-up sequence. * KITT pops open a compartment next to Sayuri, revealing an MRE. (Okay. Yoji, Robert, Jacqueline, into #Sekrit.) *** Robert has left #ChibiRPG * Sayuri shakes her head, and leans back in her seat, ignoring Kitt's last little statement. * KITT slams the doors closed and takes off at a lesiurely pace. * Yoji (cheers for Sayuri. :P ) *** Yoji has left #chibirpg (Are we on dead time, then?) * Sayuri yawns. "So, KITT, what DO you know about death, oh Guru-in- the-Shell? A nice data dump off the net? Perhaps a vehicular homicide in your past?" (More or less. You'll arrive at the building in a few minutes. Tawlk amongst yeselves till then.) * Rina fidgets a little, then looks out the window. I know that I can die. I'm not a philosopher, but I know I can die, and I have a lot of time to think. * Sayuri taps her bracelets together. "Well, of course. Even an old logic machine could have figured out it would die eventually, given enough data." I try not to worry about what happens after I die, though. You don't understand. I'm not sure if you're prepared to understand. I'm not a program. * Marguerite reaches into her clothing and pulls out a screwdriver. She tightens one bolt on Bubba. His display flickers, and she gives him a good whack. His display returns to normal. * Sayuri looks towards the front, and says deadpan, "Is that right. Then what do you happen to be? Are you not running on the computers inside this van?" I _am_ the van. Who I am is inescapably tied to this van, and to the hardware inside it. * Rina stifles a yawn and looks over at Sayuri. I can't be duplicated. You could copy my hardware, and my software, but it wouldn't be me, no more than a clone of your body implanted with a copy of your knowledge and memories would really be you. * Sayuri chuckles. "Why wouldn't it? Are you implying the existance of an immortal soul, and your possession therof?" *Bubba beeps once, and Maggie stuffs him into her satchel again. Not precisely. It's more a matter of the fact that as soon as you made the copy, their experiences would diverge, and they would no longer be the same person. As time went on, the differences in reactions to any given situation would grow larger. As interesting as this all is, we should probably figure out tactics before we get there. Oh, christ, that old tripe. If we're gonna be coming up on heavy resistance, we gotta be ready. Why is that relevant? In any case, I fail to see you explaining the nature of death. * Marguerite nods to Togo. "Well, that would work, if we knew a) what the building looked like, b) had anything other than a basic idea of what we're fighting, and c) could make the van shut it's bleeding pietzoelectric mouth for a whole minute." ... so yeah. Rina, you ready for this? You're our only close- quarters support here... we need you focused. New organization, same lousy intel. We gotta deal. Sayuri, I don't suppose you can access schematics for the building? Um... I guess so. I'll do what I have to. * Togo nods at Rina. * Marguerite ponders. "I wonder.... would it be more profitable for us to create a diversion for them upstairs?" No, it would not. We have our mission. We gotta get that thing, and get out. If we can cause a diversion while doing so, wonderful. And who asked you? * Sayuri stretches, says idly, "I don't feel like explaining to a program that thinks the results of a fork is an amazing psychological concept," and pulls out her laptop. You wondered aloud. I answered. (KITT soon pulls into the garage of the building.) You go and argue with Sayuri, since that's all you seem to be good for. Let me do tactics. * Rina looks up from poking at her seatbelt. "We're there?" Well, Togo, I was thinking about what ordinance to use. And I think we'll just stick with our usual. Sound good? * KITT pops the doors. Get out. Close the doors. We'll get out when we're ready to go. ... please. ...that's better. * KITT closes the doors. * Rina unbuckles her seatbelt. "So, how's this working?" * Sayuri mumbles, "BlueRise Building, was it not?" as she types on her computer. * Togo massages his temples. "Okay, as I was about to say, I can do a one time big bang if we get in deep crap, outside my normal shooting. Well, as soon as we get a good look at the building, we can decide how to get there. * Marguerite nods. But I need a minute to charge it up before I can fire, so... Well, we'll hope it doesn't come to that. Session Time: Thu Jan 10 00:00:00 2002 *nods* These glasses are also heat sensors, so hopefully we won't have to walk into rooms without any sorta clue what we're up against. I say we arm for lethal force, and take out anyone who impedes us. Ignore anyone else. Make it quick, and possibly loud. * Togo nods. Sayuri, once you get the schematics, any chance of hacking into the security cameras? Ordinarily I'd make a spectacle, but Dejiko is apparently against that. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6) and gets 10. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6) and gets 7. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6) and gets 9. * Marguerite shrugs. "So we do what we can." * Rina bites her lip, then speaks up. "Why do we have to be loud when we do this? Isn't less people shooting at us a good thing?" Theoretically yes, but we can probably handle the additional fire we draw, and it might help draw attention from the other team. May I point something out, fearless leader? * Rina rubs the back of her head. "But... um, they're doing the sneaky thing, so they shouldn't be shot at anyway. Or am I missing this completely?" Plus is we go quiet, we lose use of Mad Dog's best weapon. Well, if everyone's busy worrying about us, then they won't stop to think that someone else might be doing something sneaky. Exactly. Plus, if they brought Robert, who's not exactly Mr. Silent... Dejiko must be expecting some trouble. * Marguerite grimaces. "Yeah, that too. " * Rina looks down. "Yeah, well, I still think it's kinda silly." The world is a silly place. It is. But that's what we gotta work with. * KITT pops open the glove compartment in front of Rina, revealing a walkie-talkie. * Rina blinks at the walkie-talkie and takes it. * Sayuri looks up. "I've got your silly floor plans." Keep in touch, Rina. Huh? In case we need to make a quick getaway. * Rina blinks a couple of times, then nods. "Oh, okay." She fastens it to her belt. Keep me updated. Joy. Would you do me a favor and use those massive brain cells of yours to find us the quickest route down? Robert carries one as a matter of course. I am the switchboard keeping the two teams coordinated. * Rina smiles hesitantly. "Sure." * Sayuri frowns. "How far down are we going? I've only got three floors." Sixth. * Sayuri throws up her hands. "Wonderful." Hope you've brushed up on your dance steps, Togo, cause it's time to do the Blind Corp Crawl. * Dejiko's voice comes over the speakers. So we're blind past the third? Yay. I can do blind. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6-2) and gets 5. (Er.) * Marguerite blinks at Togo, then chuckles. "Sorry." *"Someone, please respond."* No apology needed. That was my feeble attempt at a joke. I am recieving you, Dejiko. The team is not paying attention, however. ( What are we supposed to be speaking into? ) * Marguerite perks up. "Yeah, Dejiko?" Hi Dejiko? Yeah? * Rina sticks her tongue out in KITT's voice's general direction. * KITT transmits the responses back, speakerphone fashion. *"I have come to notice that after seventy-six hours without sleep I'm not quite in top shape for a mission. For this reason, I'll be sitting this one out."* * Marguerite chuckles. * Rina giggles at that. "Okay." Get some sleep. Team two gonna be okay? *"Togo, you're more or less in charge of the downstairs group. Robert will be heading up the upstairs bunch, and he's the one who has their walkie-talkie. If either of you come across information that can help the other team, please relay it ASAP. I think that's everything."* Tell them if they find any plans for where we're going, that'd be great, 'cause Sayuri can only access down to the third floor. * Togo turns back to Sayuri. "Any luck with the security cameras?" * Sayuri looks up. "Haven't tried. Managed to get the lowest floors though. Someplace called the 'energy lab', I think, may be what we're aiming for." Sounds like it. * Rina tilts her head. "Yeah, Dejiko mentioned something about a lab." * Togo makes his way to the back of the van. "So what's it look like?" * Sayuri taps some keys and turns the scren so Togo can see it. "Sketchy." (All 6 levels of maps.) ( Care to describe what we see, oh GM? ^_^ ) (It's just a bunch of maps. ^^;) You see.... floor plans! It would appear that you can take an elevator on this floor of the garage to get to B3, and down a hall there past two security checkpoints is an elevator that can take you to B6. The elevator is behind a room reached by a hallway reached through a door falsely claiming to be for building maintenance. This door is on the other side of the parking garage from where you are. That is all. Wonderful. Do you think we really need those cameras, Togo? * Rina rubs the back of her head. "Looks simple enough. * Sayuri taps her bracelets together. "I doubt I can access them so easily. I'd have to find an internal terminal, more than likely, and don't have time to go password guessing. So." Sounds like we should get moving. I guess so. Moot point. Let's go, then. Let's try not to be louder then necessary, but if push comes to shove, sacrifice stealth for firepower. * Marguerite nods. * Togo affixes the silencers to his pistols, and hops out of the van. * Rina shrugs. "My firepower's punching stuff." She gets out of the van and stretches. * Marguerite spins a silencer onto her DE and slips it into her shoulder holster. From across the garage, the maintenance door beckons majestically. * Sayuri laughs softly. "What's firepower?" Well, okay, not really. But it is there. Honest. Needless to say, Sayuri, if the bullets start flying, get out of the way. Who's got point, oh leader? Duck back around corner, get under cover... You have the heavy firepower, you got point. * Sayuri folds up her laptop, stores it away, and crawls out of the van. "If I didn't know how to avoid the bullets you people love, I probably wouldn't be here." * Marguerite nods, and gets out of the van. * Rina fidgets. "We going?" Yup (Er. Someone ping me right quick?) ( Activating the heat sensors on my glasses Yu? ) (Go for it, Togo.) ( I show a 0sec ping, Yu. ) ( -?, and 1 sec response. ) * Marguerite approaches the door and waits for the others. (Alright. Something I said a while back just dissapeared. Strange. c.c) * Rina walks after Margie. :P ( Anything warm and threat-shaped behind the door? =P ) * Sayuri follows, on the lookout for bullets so she can hide behind things. She makes a great looking target, though. Really. ^.~ (*snicker*) (I'll keep that in mind, Sayuri. Heh. Mweheheh.) ( Hey, if you wanna go in front and soak up fire, be my guest. ^_~ ) * Marguerite blinks, then quickly removes her earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, and then stows them in her satchel. (Togo> Nope.) (In case you wanna try, the door is locked. Just so you know. ^_^) * Marguerite tries the door. "Fuck. I bet I can't kick this one in, either." Anyone got a hairpin or something? I might be able to pick it... Probably. * Rina pulls a pin out of her hair, and it falls out of place a little. "Here ya go." She hands it to Togo. ...or you could have one. ^_^; *** Dejiko is now known as Elevator * Rina shrugs with a small grin. "I gotta be useful somehow." * Togo takes it, nods, and sets to work on the lock. ( Fearless GM? ) ( He's a little busy right now. ) ( Trying to run two sessions at once is hard. ) (Figured. We're waitin'.) ( Thought as much. ) (One sec.) Miraculously, Togo manages to pick the lock. ( Miraculously? I have 2 freakin' levels of burglery. =P ) * Togo hands Rina her hairpin back, and opens the door. * Rina hums and puts it back in her hair. Mad Dog? (Togo>But not lockpicking, which is a different skill. :P) ( Lockpicking is under sleight of hand. ) (door open in or out?) (...Out.) ( ... it is? ) Behind the door is a hallway, which turns a corner about twenty feet in. (Yes. :P) ( ... well crap. That makes no goddamn sense. ) * Marguerite starts down the hallway, trying not to scuff her feet and make noise. (Burglary is figuring out how to break that window over there without setting off alarms or cutting yourself and getting in thataway. I think.) * Rina follows along, trying not to trip over herself. It's possible. :P ( Okay. Under Burglary... "The ability to OPEN LOCKS, quietly cut glass..." ) * Togo follows, guns out. Rina trips over herself. ( It's under both, I think. ) *** Elevator is now known as GM * Rina lands on her face. "Ow!" ( True enough. ) * Togo offers Rina a hand. * Rina accepts Togo's help and gets to her feet, rubbing at her nose. "Thanks." ... on that note, let's head in. * Rina stiffles a giggle and nods, going back to following Margie. * Marguerite pauses before the corner, and sneaks a peak around it. This door doesn't appear to have a lock. You can hear voices on the other side. * Rina tilts her head and listens. * Togo holds up 4 fingers. * Sayuri stands still, borededly. * Marguerite draws her DE, and nods. She throws the door open, and quickly scans the room. * Togo follows in, both gund scanning the room. FREEZE. * Rina peeks in, *not* stepping in front of the two people with guns that could shoot her by accident. The men all look at Marguerite, then at each other. They all have submachineguns slung at their sides. The elevator at the far end of the room goes *ding!* cheerfully. Trust us, we can blow you new orifaces before you can reach for your guns. * Rina glances over at the elevator. So get down on the floor, face first. The elevator doors open, producing two more men with guns. One of the newcomers says "What the hell?" ... you too. Freeze, and get down on your stomachs. * Marguerite suddenly has Bubba in her hands. "You heard the man." * Sayuri is just standing behind everyone, looking at the submachine gunners with as deadpan a look as she can give. The two in the elevator get down on their stomachs uncertainly. The four at the table look at you all as if wondering what you've been smoking. One of them actually asks you this. Drano. Now get the fuck down. * Togo nods. "She'll do it. She snipes nuns for fun." They all nod sagely with "Ohs" and "Ahs", as if they're familiar with the experience. They briefly discuss the matter with each other, being perfectly calm, and eventually decide that it'd be best to surrender. Rina, get their guns. ( Blargh. Buncha wimps. ) * Rina nods and steps out, walking to the closest guard and trying to take that nasty submachine gun of his. They all casually hand their guns to Rina with comments like "Here you go, cutie" and "You gonna search me?" ( s'what happens when you use non-union goons. ) * Rina rolls her eyes. "Got them all." She looks down at the armful she has. "Um... what do you want to do with 'em?" * Sayuri snickers. * Marguerite 's eyes gleam. "Give them to me." ... You're gonna keep *all* of them? Sure. * Sayuri yawns. "You never know when you need to outfit an army. Can we get with the moving?" * Rina shrugs and starts handing them to Marguerite. Yeah, I was just wondering where she'd put them. * Marguerite slips each one into her satchel. When she's finished, the satchel looks exactly the same. * Rina stares at the satchel. Umm 'kay. Rina, in my left trenchcoat pocket I have a buncha handcuffs... Yah, I get the idea. * Rina gets the handcuffs and goes about handcuffing goons. :P The goons are handcuffed in short order. They make all sorts of remarks about this. * Marguerite moves over to the ones in the elevator, and points Bubba in them. "This is a reserved space, boys. Why don't you go play with your friends?" * Rina smiles sweetly and kicks the last goon in the shin after a particularly nasty remark. ( The man's shin shatters ) (Would I do that? o/~) (Not on purpose...) ( I think we got them too, Cham... ) The man winces and curses loudly. (No, moving them out of the elevator.) (We need that elevator. ^^;) ( Oh, I thought they were out already. ) (Yeah.) (Are they in the elevator, or not? :P) (They are. ) (My gun says they aren't.) On your feet, boys. Let's go. (I shall merrily ignore your gun. ^_^) The men get to their feet. ( Yadda yadda, they get cuffed, make rude remarks... ) (Right, right.) Let's move. This is taking too long. * Marguerite gets in the elevator again. Oooh, are you going to be riding me, after all? * Marguerite blinks. ( Yeah, we'll push all the right buttons... ) (There are no buttons in the elevator, unfortunately.) Er... sure. * Rina gets in the elevator and looks around. * Togo gets in the elevator. "... third floor?" "Of course!" * Sayuri winks at the guards, and gets in the elevator too. "Strange elevator." The elevator doors close after you get in. The elevator begins to descend. Two security checkpoints down there, so get ready... * Rina nods. If they're all like this I'm going to cry. And then my mascara will run. Stupid fucking makeup. "It fills me with no end of joy to go down for you! It really is quite exhilerating!" Stupid fucking elevator. ( Yu-Mei, I have underestimated you. ) * Rina laughs. "You didn't have to wear the makeup, y'know." (I sorta expected this. ^^;) Hey, the costume'd look bad without it. (Yep. The second you changed your name to elevator.) * Rina grins and shrugs. (I'm horribly sorry. I couldn't resist. My will is weak.) ( What're you apologizing for? =P ) The elevator reaches the third floor with a *ting!*. * Togo readies himself... The doors open and there are two big gun-toting military grade B- type defense bots there. Thanks, Mr. Elevator. *blinks* Meep. Woo! It's party time! Christ. ... crap. Hit 'em fast! The barrels on the robot's dual-mounted gatling-style machineguns spin up. * Marguerite already has Bubba out, and sights. Roll initiative, folks. ^_^ d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (d6+8) and gets 12. d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (d6+5) and gets 8. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Rina (d6+6) and gets 10. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (d6+6) and gets 7. (Fucking Dicebot.) Order: Togo, Rina, Bot1, Bot2, Sayuri, Marguerite. Go, Togo! * Togo gets the HFIL outta the elevator fires both guns at Bot1. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-3) and gets 2. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-3) and gets -1, "That's a critical success, don't think this means I like you." (Lucky lucky. ^_^) ( w00t. ) *** Delfina has quit IRC (Quit: TTFN! ^_^ ) ( How big's a grade B? ) (About seven feet.) ( *nods* ) One of Togo's shots takes the bot in it's sensor plate. It keeps going, tho. ( Crap. High defense. ) Go, Rina! * Rina runs at the first bot and throws a punch at it. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Rina (2d6-4) and gets 4. Rina's fist goes "clank" against the 'bot's exterior, leaving a Rina's fist-shaped dent. The bot fires blindly at you all. Everyone roll ranged defense with a happy three-point bonus. 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-5) and gets -2. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Rina (2d6-3) and gets 3. ( I made it. =P ) 2d6-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-6) and gets 2. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6-3) and gets 2. (*thwaps Togo* :P) (Wow. I made it. I can't believe I'm not dead.) ( Ow. _ ) The bot somehow manages to miss you all. The other bot opens fire in a much less blind manner. It shoots at Togo, who ought to roll unmodified ranged defense this time. *** Anya has joined #ChibiRPG 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-2) and gets 6. ( My DCV is 6. Is that a hit or a miss? ) Togo barely avoids the bullets, although a few leave holes in his jacket. ( That answers that... ) Presuming Sayuri does anything, now is the tiem to do it. ^_^ * Togo sees the holes in his trenchcoat and growls. * Sayuri just hides inside the elevator. Marguerite! I choose you! * Marguerite aims for the first bot, and fires a burst of plasma. (2d6-4, Margie.) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-4) and gets 2. Marguerite's Burst O Plasma immolates Bot1, leaving a stink of burnt metal and ozone in the air. Someone down the hall curses loudly. Woo! Who loves you, Bubba! Crap, I hear reinforcements... Togo, your turn again. (People have actually entrenched themselves at the far end of the hall, near the first security checkpoint.) * Togo tries to finish off Bot1. (They're too far off to shoot you just yet, tho.) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-3) and gets 3. Er, Bot1 is finished. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-3) and gets 7. ( bot2, then =P ) ( Both hits. ) Togo doesn't do as well this time, and his shots don't do anything spectacular to the bot. Go, Rina! For everlasting love and peace! * Robert's voice comes over the walkie-talkie. "Group two, do you read? Over." Tell him we're a mite busy! * Togo grabs it from Rina before she attacks. "We're encountering heavy resistance here." * Rina runs forward and tries to hit the second bot, ignoring the walkie talkie. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Rina (2d6-4) and gets 2. Rina smakcs the bot up, but it keeps going. * Robert's voice comes back, "Just get the radio to Sayuri, if she's not busy. Over." ( What am I looking at? :P ) ( Erk. Wrong channel. Sorry ^^ ) * Togo hands the radio back to Sayuri. "Talk to Robert. We're occupied." (*pokes the channel*) * Sayuri grabs the radio as she hears her voice, and hides back in the elevator. (Gurp. Bot's turn. My bad.) Bot2 turns it's guns towards Margie and starts shooting. Roll ranged defense, Margie. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-3) and gets 3. Margie catches a bullet in a relatively unimportant part of her leg, but is otherwise fine. * Marguerite winces. "Fuuuck." ( It's just a flesh wound! ) (Not, of course, that my pants aren't hole-filled enough already.) * Sayuri is busy talking as she hides. Ignore her, mostly. Especially the bots. ^_~ Margie's turn. Get the sumbitch back, Margie! * Marguerite rolls from the shot and comes up firing. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-4) and gets 5. The bot goes kablooey. Hold back before charging the next group... * Marguerite pumps her fist, then nearly falls off balance. They're all bunched together... might be a good time to break out the big bang I talked about. There are four men at the back of the hall. Apparently, they had bags full of sand sitting around for just this curcumstance, and have used them to form a low wall that they are using for partial cover. Save it. We might need it on the way out. * Rina eeps and backs awaaay from them. Okay... can you lob some plasma from here? Set their cover on fire? Let me try this first... * Marguerite retrieves a grenade from her satchel. Fire in the hole... (Frag grenade, Yu.) * Marguerite lobs it at the barricade. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-2) and gets 5. 1d2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (1d2) and gets 2. * Rina covers her ears. @_@; (Wait, ignore the last roll. I misread my own notes.) The grenade makes it over the impromptu wall. Behind it, someone screams "Throw it back! Throw it back!" and then there's a boom. Not bad for the first time in a long while. * Rina hesitantly uncovers her ears. Nice arm. The boom is from behind the wall, mind. Someone's arm flies your way but doesn't hit anyone. IT lands in the elevator, and is immediately interrogated about what floor it'd like to go to. Is it over? * Rina blinks at the arm. She blinks again. Yummy. You hear a faint moaning from the direction of the impromptu wall. ... Right. Charge? * Marguerite approaches the wall cautiously, with Bubba drawn. * Togo follows. Behind the wall are 3.4 people. One of them is very, very dead, two of them are mostly dead, and one of them is alive but not liking it one bit at the moment. * Rina peeks at the unfortunate living person. "Yuck." * Marguerite puts her finger to her lips. "Ssssh. We weren't here." She grins and continues towards the next checkpoint. The next checkpoint has nobody at it. It asks for identification. I'll watch him. Check out the elevator, Mad Dog, and see if there are any keypads or anything we hafta get by? * Sayuri looks up, and gets out of the elevator. She's very computerbound at the moment, the E-hammer closed in one hand, the talkie in the other." * Marguerite eyes the gate. (No way to get around or over?) (Not really, no. The gate is an actual gate made of a clear material that is no doubt resistant to all sorts of things.) * Togo eyes the living guard. "Tell us how to get through, and maybe you live through this." Hm. * Sayuri shoves her computer back in her backpack, and rolls her eyes at it. "Jesus. That girl needs some practical experience." (It being the walkie.) And then there was an intermission of sorts while everyone slept an' stuff. *Intermission* Okay. So, you're standing at the impromptu wall that Margie just lobbed a grenade over. Ahead is another security checkpoint, which is apparently unmanned. * Togo eyes the still living guy. "So how do we get through this? Talk and you live." The guy who's still living is rather busy bleeding, and is is no shape to talk. He probably won't live long. Well, then the other option is we ask Sayuri to take a crack at the door. Yup. Wanna grab their guns, Mad Dog? * Sayuri comes back, and looks at the carnage sadly. She perks up at the sound of her name. "Huh?" * Marguerite scores the guns, and squirrels them away for later. * Togo reaches into his coat, pulls out a painkiller needle, and jabs it into the dying guy. * Rina folds her hands behind her back and walks over to the wall, peering at it. The wall fidgets under Rina's gaze. * Rina sweatdrops. * Togo eyes the guy as the painkillers kick in, and turns away towards the wall. * Rina rubs at the back of her head and turns around. "I could try to just break through the wall, but I don't think it'll work." * Sayuri looks at the guy again, looks at Margie, and sighs. "Did you people want me to do something?" Can you get into the security systems and get that door open? Yeah. This door's a security checkpoint of some sort. * Sayuri nods absently, and starts to go towards the door. "Sure, yeah." There is a room off to one side of the gate, with a window looking out on the gate. It just might be a room for controlling said gate. The door to this room is ajar. Which is different from it being a jar. Honest. * Marguerite pushes open the door and peeks inside cautiously. * Sayuri opens the door and walks into the room. (negate my action.) Marguerite sees nothing that seems at all threatening. Except an awfully large roach. But that can be ignored. (Or you could negate hers... ^_^;;) * Marguerite steps out and ushers Sayuri in. * Rina stays where she is, fidgeting and occassionally glancing at the mess of ex-goons. There's a panel under the window looking at the gate. It has a button that is labeled 'OPEN GATE'. * Sayuri chuckles. "Wow, glad you needed my expertise." * Togo turns slightly towards Rina. "You're doin' good work so far, kid. Keep it up." Hey, I figured you needed to feel useful. * Rina nods. "Al- all right." She blink furiously and shakes her head. Gee, thanks. * Sayuri hits the button, and pauses. "Can you c'mere a sec, Mad Dog?" The gate opens. * Marguerite walks back in the room. "Hm?" ... well that was quick. * Sayuri walks forward, and says something very softly to Margie, in an almost whisper. * Togo walks foward slowly, investigating the area beyond the wall. * Rina looks back at the mess, then quickly turns to peer through the open gate. * Marguerite nods. After about thirty seconds, the gate closes again automatically. Um. Open again? * Rina knocks on the gate. * Marguerite motions Togo and Rina forward. "Let's move on ahead - Sayuri's going to prep a few things in case we need her hacking skeelz." (Well, naturally, you need to pick up a crate, box, or frozen enemy and put it on the switch. DUH.) * Togo watches it close, sighs, and knocks on it annoyedly. (Or a convenient ancient statue.) (Or, say, a bag of sand.) (Dunno where you might get one of those, tho.) * Sayuri blinks at the gate, and curses. "Great." She walks over, and hammers the button. Okay. The gate opens again. * Marguerite grabs a sandbag and props it on the button. * Marguerite walks through the gate and onward. * Rina glances back at the mess, then walks through the gate. * Togo follows. "Your leg okay, Mad Dog?" * Sayuri then walks out of the room, and back towards the barricade and earlier elevator. * Marguerite grins. "I've had a hell of a lot worse." * Togo chuckles. "Ditto." * Rina winces at the thought of that. If it's all the same, let's all try to avoid gaping wounds on this mission. It's always a concern. No sense getting blood on brand new clothes. * Marguerite looks at her pants. "I don't think anyone will notice." * Robert's voice crackles over the walkie-talkie. "Team two, what is your status?" * Togo grabs the walkie talkie. "About to go down to level 6." * Rina gets a thoughtful look at that. "Wonder if I bleed... bet I do." She looks over to the walkie talkie. Try not to find out, Rina. * Robert's voice comes over the line again. "Our mission is accomplished. Do you require assistance?" * Rina smiles shakily at Marguerite. "Yeah." Tell her we got it. Negative. We've yet to take any serious hits, and we're fine on ammo. We got it covered. Very well. We're getting out of here, there were police in the lobby. We'll meet you back at the hotel. Get the hell outta here. We'll meet up later. Got it. * Togo puts away the walkie talkie. "Ready?" * Rina bites her lip and nods. Yep. Let's secure the elevator, then Sayuri can follow. * Sayuri walks back into sight, looking a bit more pale, however that is possible. The elevator offers nothing in the way of resistance. Thankfully, it doesn't tell you about how happy it is, either. Oh, there we go. Ready to move, Togo? Yup. * Togo steps in the elevator, and waits for the others to follow. This elevator has buttons. * Rina steps in, hugging her arms and turning to look at Sayuri with concern. * Togo hits the button for the sixth floor. ( Once Mad Dog gets in ) * Marguerite steps in. * Sayuri follows everyone else in as well, shifting to the side of the elevator to get out of the way. The elevator goes down, but doesn't make any comments about the fact. As you near the sixth basement, strange sounds reach your ears. ... the hell is that? * Marguerite looks around cooly. * Rina blinks and listens more closely. * Sayuri just stands there somberly. You reach the appropriate floor, and as the doors open you can tell what the sounds are. There are three distinct alarm claxons; "Awooga", "klangklangklang", and "Wooont". A bunch of people in labcoats round the corner, and the slowest one gets torn to bits by hwat must be an awfully big damn machinegun. Um. I think we have action here, Togo. Shit. Out of the elevator, and find some goddamn cover! * Marguerite draws Bubba. * Rina looks for some cover. @_@; * Sayuri does as well, after being briefly stunned by the sight of the new human-burger. You hear a computer speaking over the intercom, talking about how the lab has been compromised, and what a bad thing this is. You hear very, very loud footsteps from the hallway around the corner. The people in labcoats run past you without particularly noticing that you exist and crowd into the elevator. * Togo bursts out of the area, looking left and right and scanning the area with his pistols. * Marguerite runs forward, Bubba at the ready. You don't see what is making the footsteps, since it's around the corner. * Marguerite drops to a crouch and readies for it. Everyone, get back. I'm gonna charge up my guns and blast whatever that thing is before it can get much closer. there is one sturdy-looking metal table in the hallway, with, of all the luck, medical supplies on it. Unless someone has a better suggestion. * Marguerite nods, and scoots directly behind Togo. No, that's fine. * Rina stays back. * Togo fiddles with his guns, and bright orange spheres of light start glowing at the end of each barrel. * Sayuri tries to tip the table over to provide some sort of cover. * Rina runs over to help Sayuri. :P C'mon... c'mon... * Togo edges to the corner, flattened against the wall, preparing to jump out and fire... * Togo tenses, and spins around to face the advancing whatever. He raises his guns together, and a HUGE beam of cracklin' orange energy fires down the hall. * Marguerite pauses a split second, then rolls out and aims with Bubba, looking for any movement. * Rina looks over the edge of the table. Togo's beams o energy impact against the armored shell of the A-class bot, scratching it up somewhat. Holy FUCK. * Marguerite fires at the bot./ * Togo stumbles back a few steps, then eyes the bot. "... hoo boy." * Rina 's eyes widen. "Crap." The A-class bot notices you, but has difficulty aiming at you, since it's actually too tall and wide for the hallway it's in. In fact, it's inadvertently rearranging the walls and cieling as it slowly grinds it's way along. * Togo starts blasting away at it too. Roll initiative, folks. ^_^ d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (d6+8) and gets 14. d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (d6+5) and gets 8. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (d6+6) and gets 9. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Rina (d6+6) and gets 7. Order: Togo, Sayuri, Margie, Rina, Big-Ass Bot. (Wait, what?) (Shouldn't Sayuri and I be switched?) ( Do I see anything I could aim a called shot at? ) (Eh? Oh, right.) Togo> There's the sight plate, which may or may not be fragile enough to be called a weak spot. And the order is Togo, Margie, Sayuri, Rina, Bot. My bad. * Marguerite grimaces and lets off a burst of plasma. "Don't know what the hell this is, but it's fucking huge." (Ack! Hit enter too soon. Gomen.) (Heh.) * Togo fires off a pair of shots at the robot. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-3) and gets 1. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-3) and gets 1. (I demand a new dicebot. Jesse's been placing bribes.) (*snicker*) ( How the hell would he bribe me? ) ( I'm a bot, there ain't a whole lot I need/want. ) (Hot cyberr?) ( Unlike KITT, I have no sex drive. ) Togo's shots go 'plink' and 'ptang' respectively, leaving welts in the armor that you could only see if you were looking at the thing up close. Which you probably don't want to do. ( Yes, Cham, I've been having hot cybersex with Dicesuke. It's gooooooood. ) (I knew it!) ... fuck. You can shoot it now, Margie. ^_ +^ * Marguerite grimaces and lets off a burst of plasma. "Don't know what the hell this is, but it's fucking huge." (There.) (IT might be good to roll, too. 2d6-4.) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-4) and gets 6. (*kicks Dicesuke in the randomizer) MArgie's shot grazes the monstrosity, doing more damage to that area of the wall. fortunately, this doesn't free the big thing up any. Sayuri's turn. * Sayuri is hiding behind the table, as she pulls out her laptop and starts its warmup. "Hurry, ya stupid thing..." Rina's turn. * Rina looks at the robot blankly, then blinks. She whispers quickly to Sayuri, "Do ya trust me?" * Sayuri looks up from the computer as it boots, looking at Rina oddly. "I trust you enough to put my life in your guys' hands on these stupid things, don't I?" * Rina grins and picks Sayuri up, computer at all. She jumps over the table and tries to dash between the robot's legs. * Sayuri gurks, and is picked up like a sack of wheat. @_@ Rina makes it, thanks to her mad quickness. The robot decides not to try to pursue her. * Togo grimaces. "Guess we're decoys, eh Mad Dog?" The hallways on the other side of the bot appear badly torn up. There are things on fire, too. It appears so. Luckily making spectacles is what I do best. * Rina dashes to the end (but not all the way to the fire) and sets Sayuri down. Back where Togo and Margie are: The bot squirms a bit, attempting to free itself somewhat. One of it's 30mm chaingun arms fire, and it does all sorts of badness to the wall behind and above you. Bits of steel from the walls fall on you, and thankfully don't hurt. * Togo nods. "Let's smoke this fucker before it can get free and get a clear shot at us." The underpod on the bot's other arm opens, and two tubes come out of it. One of them spouts a small blue flame. Togo's turn. ( Hrm... ) My guns aren't doing shit against this thing's armor... * Togo fires a shot at its sensor plate. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-1) and gets 4. The bullet hits the sensor plate, cracking it slightly. * Marguerite growls and fires Bubba again, aiming vaguely for the underpod which just opened. (2d6-4, unless you meant that as a called shot.) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-4) and gets 4. Margie's Blast O Plasma hits on the right arm, but not that little underpod. Armor slags off of the arm, revealing more armor underneath. Jesus christ! ... dammit... The bot uses the little underpod, which turns out to contain a flame thrower, in case you didn't guess. Thankfully, it still isn't aiming quite right, so all it does is make you really uncomfortable. Unfortunately, it manages to work it's other arm loose. Bitch. Meanwhile... Rina runs into a t-intersection at the end of this particular hallway. To the left and right are doors which presumably lead off to labs. * Togo says nothin'. Just scowls. * Sayuri looks back towards the robot nervously, and looks at her computer now that it's up. * Rina glances left and right. "You need to do something with that? 'Cause if not, we should prolly search the labs, get the doohicky, and run like mad. * Sayuri points left. "That way!" * Rina runs left and tries to open the door. *** Yoji has joined #chibirpg Rina finds the door locked, and takes it off it's hinges. The laboratory inside seems unfazed. Meanwhile, in the hall directly behind you, a light fixture falls from the cieling. Off to the far left of the room is something that looks more like a frammastassit or a whatchamacallit than a doohickey. In the center of the room is a bank of computers. * Sayuri curses. "We don't even know what it looks like. Let me at the computers." * Rina nods and moves aside so Sayuri gets clear access. She peeks out the door at the robot. Blueprints cover the walls. All sorts of blueprints. They're all conveniently labeled. Meanwhile, back at the battlefield... Togo's turn! * Togo eyes the minimal damage to the sensor plate. "Get ready... I'm gonna try to put a bullet down the barrel of that flamethrower." * Togo attempts to do so. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-1) and gets 4. * Marguerite nods. The bullet, against all odds, enters the barrel of the flamethrower, and apparently makes a spark in just the right place, because that underpod explodes. * Marguerite pumps her arm. "Woo!" The fact that the pod exploded might not be so bad if all of the explosion didn't have a rather limited path to take. Which happens to be down the hall towards you. Shiiiiiiit! Roll normal ranged defense to see if you get out of the way in time. ^_^ 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-2) and gets 6. ( Just made it. ^_^;; ) (Can not take the dodge and toss my satchel out of the path instead? ^_^;;) (Of you make the dodge (which is 2d6-3, BTW), then the satchel is out of the way, too. I wouldn't reccomend staying there yourself, tho.) (*sigh* Go boom.) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-3) and gets 0. (*glances sideways at Dicesuke.) ( ...say thank you, Maggie. ) (Thank you, Maggie.) ( WHy does Dicesuke like the people in this channel so much, but hate the people in #BESM? @_@ ) (Dunno what you're talking about. He hates me, I just have an obscene hacking roll.) Both of our heros get far enough back into the other hall to avoid being burnt to a crisp, although the tail of Togo's trenchcoat sizzles for a bit, and your throats are both dry as hell. Holy shit, that was close. ( Dammit, why won't they lay off my trenchcoat?! ;_; ) ( Because it's there to show you just barely escape ) Unfortunately, loosing one of it's arms reduces the bot's width by several feet. * Togo nods. "But that's one less weapon it can hit us with." (Shush, Demo.) It's Maggie's turn, by the way. * Marguerite spins around, and blasts at the bot's "head". 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-4) and gets 1. MAggie's shot impacts in the general area of the bot's head, doing plenty of badness, but not enough. Fucker! Go down! Go down! Steel drips down off of the robot's face as it aims at Maggie with it's other arm, which has room to work, now. The barrels on it's remaining 30mm chaingun spin up. MOVE! * Marguerite grimaces and primes to dodge/. (Good news, Maggie! I'm letting you make a Body roll to see if you get out of the way in time!) (We love you, Yu!) (And that's a whole seperate thing from the dodge roll. So.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6) and gets 3. (woo!) Margie dives like a bad movie outtake while the wall behind where she was gets ripped up. Meanwhile, back in the lab... *** Todd is now known as NE-Todd * Rina winces at the explosion and turns around, glancing about the lab. * Sayuri tries to ignore the chaos in the hall, as she types on the computer. Sayuri makes her way into something. Unfortunately, everything in here is labeled with technobabble, apparently. * Rina looks over at Sayuri, then shrugs and starts reading the blueprints, probably making her head go all spinny with funny names. (*rollrollroll*) Rina finds one that proclaims to be a drawing of some sort of nozzle, and doesn't look like part of a sink. * Sayuri looks at the computer, and frowns. "Wonderful." (Sayuri> Two mind rolls, please.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6) and gets 7. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6) and gets 6. * Rina blinks at the drawing and tilts her head. "Think this might be it?" (Marginal failure and success.) Sayuri finds something that feels right, but all of a sudden she can't rmemeber exactly what they're supposed to be looking for. Goddamnit. * Sayuri looks up at Rina. "Could be. It was some sort of magnetic nozzle thingy, I think..." * Rina nods. "Yeah, this is it." She moves to one side so Sayuri can get a better look at it. I think. * Sayuri looks at it, and compares it to the computer stuff she's seeing. "They should have sent a scientist..." * Rina smiles sheepishly. "Don't think any of us're scientists." By the way, who has the walkie-talkie? (Togo, last I checked.) ( Togo. ) ( Yup ) Alright. But if one of you has a cel phone, that might not rule out calling someone to ak about it. If you want to. ( I have one... =P ) (Not including you, Togo. You're busy dodging bullets. :P) (So do I. :P But the idea hasn't occured to Rina. ^^;;) (So do both of us. ^^;) (Am I the only cel phoneless one?) (*shrug* Alright.) (I had my phone forced upon me!) ( Robert doesn't have one. ) Okay. So, I guess I'll go back to the others and see if they're surviving. ^_^ Unless Rina or Sayuri have something they especially wanna do/say. * Sayuri is just staring at the computer trying to figure out what to get. ;P * Rina is waiting for Sayuri to finish staring at the puter. (You'd might as well switch. *snerk*) Okay! Togo's turn. * Togo pops in some AP rounds and blasts in the general area of the thing's head. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-3) and gets 4. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-3) and gets 1. One of the bullets actually penetrates the armor, this time, but doens't seem to do any serious damage to the thing. The other ust leaves a bit og a gouge. ... I need to get a fucking bazooka or something. Margie! Your turn! * Marguerite hefts Bubba up again, and aims for the head. "Heavy ordinance is always good." She fires. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-4) and gets 0. (Not called shot, though i should have) The blast catches the thing high on it's side, where it did once before, and leaves a smallish hole in the armor. Aim for that, Togo! The bot apparently decides that it needs to turn around and go check on something that's happening somewhere else. It doesn't get too far, tho, since turning eventually involves having it's head get embedded in one of the walls. The bot sits there contemplating this turn of events. Back to the lab, now. Mind rolls from both of ya'. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Rina (2d6) and gets 8. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6) and gets 4. (Ha! No.) (Yay! Got one!) Sayuri remembers what they're looking for. Hurrah. * Rina wanders over to the odd piece of equipment and starts looking it over. * Sayuri ahas, and points at the computer. "Magnetic Regulator Nozzle! Circular and light." * Sayuri dives in to find the software. (And is that the right blueprint?) Yes, it is. And Sayuri finds what she's looking for before too long. * Rina blinks. "So we've got it?" We've got the schematics... * Sayuri looks up, and peers over at the equipment, looking for some circular thing that looks like the blueprints. Sayuri finds it. It's the thingmajiig that Rina was looking at. * Sayuri points at the thingmajiig. "Grab that, and let's get going. Hopefully, Margie and Togo are still alive." Meanwhile, back at the battlefield. Togo's turn! Woot! * Togo attempts to fire into the hole Mad Dog made. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d6-1) and gets 7. Togo successfully hits it, and the A-class finally stops moving. It's gun-arm droops, scraping across the floor before it comes to a halt. ... holy crap. * Marguerite lets Bubba drop, and falls to one knee, grabbing her leg. "Fuckin' finally." ... we just took out a Class-A bot without a scratch. (An A-class bot that couldn't shoot back most of the time, but yeah. ;P) Is _that_ what that thing is? Dejiko's fucking fixing my coat HERSELF when we get back. "Probably no Class-A bots" my ass. Yup. Only seen one once before, and never had to fight one. Wonderful. Back to the lab. We lucked out that it couldn't move in this narrow space... who knows why it's down here in the first place. * Marguerite struggles to her feet. "Different organization, same old lousy intel." Who do they have running it anyways, a deaf-mute with one eye? I have no eyes, and I could do a fucking better job... want bandages and some pain stuff for that leg? Ahem. Back to the lab. Naw. It's not bleeding, and I hope I don't have to dodge any more automatic fire on the way back up. (Sorry. ^_^;;) Y'know, where Rina and Sayuri are. Rina? Sayuri? ( You shoulda let us finish. =P ) * Rina grabs the piece of equipment, and hears a big boom. "Um." *** Jacqueline has quit IRC (Quit: ) * Sayuri yawns, and looks damn weary. "C'mon, we've got it all, and I've left another wonderous virus. Let's get out of here." * Rina nods. "Yeah." She grabs the blueprint from the wall, then hurries out of the lab. * Sayuri follows, wondering if the bot thing is going to kill them or no. The bot thing distinctly fails to kill them when they step out into the hall. * Togo peeks around the remains of the bot. "You got the stuff?" * Rina grins. "Yeah! You guys okay?" * Marguerite holds out a hand to Togo. "High-five, Mr. Sunglasses." ( Yeah, we got the stuff. You got the money? ) (I'm looking for sheets. Er, wait, wrong silliness.) * Sayuri doesn't bother to say anything. * Togo hi-fives. "We gotta ask for a raise." Indeed. Now let's get back to that elevator. * Marguerite starts walking, limping very slightly. Yeah. I have to see a woman about some coat repair. (And they did. And I hope you don't mind if I call it a game here?) * Rina glances back at Sayuri, then makes her way around the robot remains. (Fine with me.) ( Sure. ) (Might as well.) Alright. [IT'S A GAME.]
