Alrighty, then. You are all inside a box. ...wait, no, hold on. ::shuffles:: (IIRC, Mecha, Sayuri and Maggie just got back from lunch.) ( I call out to the box. Does it respond? ) (Or were at lunch, at least.) * Sayuri (peers at Margie. "Who is this 'Mecha'? ;P) (Shaddap. You parsed my commas wrong.) Oh, here we are. *ahem* It is later in the day; two past noon. You've been called back to the Simulator, and are currently waiting in the simulated waiting room again. You've been waiting a short while for someone to come in and tell you what do to, but there's been no sign of Dejiko. Aaaaand...action! * Marguerite brushes crumbs off her jumpsuit and checks her braid to make sure it hasn't slipped. Which one should we do this time? * Shiori stands silently. * Sayuri grumbles and slumps down into a chair. "Stupid sim junk." * Marguerite produces a toothpick and sets to with a will. "Whichever one doesn't involve non-euclidean spaces." That last one was far too surreal. Ah, cheer up, Sayuri. Maybe this one'll actually have some decent hacking. * Sayuri hears Robert and chuckles to herself, before looking up. "Well, then, Looking glass is out." (Margie and Sayuri, BTW, have fully recovered from their earlier headaches.) (Wai.) * Sayuri then looks at Maggie. "But it's just sim hacking. Arbitrary difficulty arbitrary data. Where's the real challenge?" We could try New York... Well, you could hack the GCI records and get us out of any future sims. That would probably be a challenge, given what I've seen of the system. Ah... Isn't New York beyond our capabilities? * Sayuri chuckles, but mutters softly to herself, "Fragging Akira." Bah, nothing is beyond us, if we work hard enough. * Sayuri cracks her neck. "You say that as if you believe it, Marine- o." I don't know... I don't know about you, but I'd prefer to not actually die, even in sim. Based on what I've seen so far, I'd end up with a fuckload of a headache. I'm a marine, Sayuri. It _is_ true. *snrk* I've known far too many marines. The door opens, and a very large, thickly muscled fellow steps through. Marguerite recognizes him as Richard. "Uhm, Hi." * Sayuri yawns. "Well, I haven't, but that smacks of mindless optimism." Hey, it's Richard. * Marguerite grins. "Surprised you haven't crashed into Tokyo Tower yet." * Shiori glances at him nervously. * Sayuri looks over and eyes the beefcake, and grins a little, saying overloudly. "Hello, big boy." Richard? * Marguerite hangs an arm about Rich's shoulders (or tries to.) "This fine, and large, piece of ass is named Richard. He was my contact to Dejiko." "Hey, Marguerite. Anywhoo, I'm standing in for Dejiko right now. She was called out on something kinda' urgent, and Asa's working on upgrading the defense systems, so it kinda' fell to me to run the simulator for you all." I.. see. Seems like everyone's busy but us. Richard chuckles at Margie's comment. (Whgich one?) (The 'piece of ass' one, of course.) (Heh.) "Anywhoo. I don't suppose you guys have decided which scenario to go with today? New York? You and your damn New York, Marine. Ah... I still don't think... that's a good idea... Bwahahaha!!! * Sayuri looks back from Richard, and frowns. "How do you deal with death in this silly thing, anyway?" Richard shrugs. "It doesn't happen." * Sayuri frowns some more. "Okaaaaay... lemme rephrase. What happens INSTEAD of death, then?" "If something happens that would normally kill you, you're just taken out of the sim." Heh. Seems like the wussy way out. * Sayuri huhms. No pain, nothing? What were the Tokyo ones again? There was the chase one, and the giant monster one. * Yu-Mei chuckles. "Well, I didn't mind it too much when it led me to avoid being squished by the World Trade Center." Damn. Chasing terrorists during rush-hour, fighting a Youma in a park, and uncovering a Yakuza drug ring... Ah, yes, the yakuza. Hmm. The drug ring sounds interesting., That hard? They're not bad guys, over all. Can say I like the whole drug deal, though. ( er, Can't, even. ) I could care less what type of guys they are. Besides, this is a sim, so it doesn't even matter. But... Richard waves his hand. "Eh, it's so-so. It requires more investigation than anything else, tho." * Sayuri snorts. "Yeah. And Jack the Ripper was just your friendly neighborhood doctor..." then she brushes her hair back. "Anyway." What say you, Sayuri? Hunting some Yaks sound fun? If you treat it as a sim... You won't be prepared on a real mission... The rule is that practice should always be treated as if it were real. * Marguerite glances sharply at Shiori. "I'll be well-prepared, thank you. Yeah, sure, Marg--uerite. * Shiori turns her gaze to the floor. "I-I didn't mean to imply..." Richard chuckles. "I'd be careful in the Yakuza one, tho. There's a lot they can do that'll hurt like a bitch, but which the computer won't consider lethal." Mm. Well, we'll just have to shoot them first. "Heh. That's the spirit." * Yu-Mei looks around. "So, is it decided, then? (Dammit.) I suppose. Yep. * Sayuri grumbles softly, then looks up and nods absently. ( What is it? ) I can't say I care overly much for investigation, but hey, whatchagonnado? ( Yakuza drug ring investigation. ) * Shiori looks up, and nods hurriedly. ( I was refering to Yu :P ) "Alrighty. I'll go out and set everything up, then." He waves and walks out the door. (Huh? Oh, I used a /me without thinking about it.) ( Oh ) Richard has left the not-really-a-building. About a minute later, the room fades. Hopefully you were standing at the time. Soon it is replaced by a busy street in downtown Tokyo. * Sayuri falls not-so-delicately on her ass. "Ow... damn. That's what daydreaming'll do to you." * Marguerite slips Bubba into her satchel. * Robert offers Sayuri his hand. * Sayuri grabs it and pulls hard to lift herself up. "Thanks." Hmmm, where am I gonna put my SAW? * Robert gestures with the overlarge machine gun. I can't really carry it around with me, especially in Tokyo. * Sayuri shakes her head as she dusts herself off. "Too easy." * Shiori blinks at Robert's weapon. "Ahh...." Maybe you should hide until we find somewhere to put it... Me? Hide? That's a good one. * Sayuri stretches. "Or you could let Mad Dog carry it." * Robert eyes Maggie. I'm not sure she's let me have it back. ( she'd, dammit. ) Perhaps you should think about preparation for the mission next time, Mr. MARINE. * Shiori blinks again. "B-But... Regulations... If you get caught..." ( Where are we standing, anyhow? :) ) I'll let you have it back. But I hope you have a smaller one, because I don't know if I'll have time if we jump into combat. (A busy street. We're already fragged on sight, more than likely. ^_~) Don't sweat it, I've got a sidearm. As you're talking people are walking all around you, on their way to lunch or work or whatever. A black Crown Victoria pulls up at the light near the corner you inhabit. * Robert hands Marguerite his SAW. * Marguerite quickly stashes it in her satchel. (hold on.) Still... It's odd that nobody panicked from it... * Sayuri shrugs. It is fairly evident that everyone here is minding their own buisness. Nobody particularly seems to notice you. The light at the corner turns green, and the cars go on their merry way. I... guess we should get started. But how? If we're looking for a drug ring... It's possible we'll find something in the news... (I did ask you to hold up, you know.) (I'm back.) ( Bwah ) (WB) * Sayuri mms. "Shiori's probably right. Either news, or we can try to feel out some meeting places." * Shiori nods. Suddenly, you hear tires screeching, horns blaring, and cars running into each other. * Sayuri (also idly notes that nobody but Maggie knows her name. Anyway.) * Marguerite checks her shoulder holster. "Well, I'm not much good till.... the hell?" * Shiori looks in that direction :P Well, I suppose that might be our cue. * Sayuri chuckles and looks over. "No kidding." * Robert starts walking toward the wreck. * Shiori hurries over there. * Marguerite follows, busily messing with her holster. (replacing normal ammo with rubber bullets). Over in that direction is a large, purple, winged dragon-like creature. It turns over a car that had run into it's leg, and begins mauling it. * Marguerite raises her eyebrow. ... This is not normal. ... The people around you quickly stop minding their own buisness and start running. * Sayuri jaunts over slowly, taking her time... and looks at the dragon with disbelief. "Oh Bob. Not again." "again"? ( Church of the SubGenius?! ) * Marguerite retrieves Bubba in the time before combat. * Sayuri shakes her head. "Again, as in, more random crap." Ah. * Shiori puts her hand on the pistol inside her trenchcoat. A general commotion starts, as would be expected. Should we take care of this? *** Sidhe has quit IRC (Read error: Broken pipe ) Maybe not. (Think I can hit it without hitting a car?) * Sayuri shrugs. "Taking care of it might draw undue attention. We're looking for Yaks, not Dragons." Ah... We're supposed to be searching for yakuza... * Shiori nods at Sayuri. Well, we can't just let a dragon rampage through the streets... Unless some superheroes are gonna come take care of it. The police... * Marguerite grins. "Too bad." She aims and takes a shot at the damn thing. * Robert pulls an overlarge pistol from his jacket. * Shiori sighs and draws her weapon. A bolt of Searing Plasma (tm) sizzles towards the creature, grazing one of it's upraised claws. It burbles loudly and turns towards you. Daddy always said to fight fire with fire. Roll initiative, y'allsn's. d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Robert (d6+7) and gets 12. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (d6+6) and gets 10. d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (d6+8) and gets 14. d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (d6+5) and gets 6. (Ouch.) (Great. All I wanted to do was hide, and now I get to sit and soak.) (Okie. Order is Shiori, Creature, Robert, Maggie, and Sayuri.) Go, Shiori! For light to medium justice! * Shiori backs off a bit, keeping her weapon ready (holding action) Okay. The big creature storms your way and takes a swing at Marguerite. (Roll defense, Margie.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6) and gets 12. (Ouch.) ( ew. ) (Impressive.) (I can't tell whether to curse or whoop....Ah. Fuck.) ( >.< ) ( High = Bad, unless rolling a critical damage, or initiative. ) * Marguerite (disembowels Dicesuke.) (Fuuuck, I don't have a soak skill in the BESM system incarnation.) ( That's right. You just gotta take it. ) (Well, excepting my armor.) ( Armor is good. ) * Shiori reacts quickly, and fires. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (2d6) and gets 6. Shiori fires her gun at the creature's arm, causing it to bellow and it's arm to prematurely halt it's motion. While Margie is still knocked over and cut lightly on her left shoulder, at least she isn't mauled or anything. (Sweet) You know what you doing, Robert. * Robert snaps off a wonderfully loud burst of autofire from his overlarge pistol. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Robert (2d6-3) and gets 7. ( Right on, all he has to do is make defense at all. ) Robert's loud burst of autofire barely grazes the creature's neck. Suddenly, Richard's voice comes over the intercom. "Uhm, guys? Sorry about this, but something's wrong." WHAT?! Eh? The FUCK? Don't tell me, the safety interlocks are down, and we can die n ow. * Sayuri holds from bolting into the nearby storefront for a brief second... Jesus. from optimistic to pessimistic in a split second. If there's a dragon... It could mean the simulations are merging...? "Some intern spilled coffee on the ...yeah, Robert's got it. What's worse, all the scenarios are kinda' oozing together. You're fighting the Jabberwock from the Wonderland scenario, and I think a pack of Bandersnatches are closing on you." ( Ta dah! :P ) Sonovafuckinggoddamnbitchassfuckfuckfuck. Marguerite, gimme my gun. * Sayuri curses and eyes the dragon cautiously. "So how do we get out, huh?" (Can I get my shot off first, or is combat effectively broken?) ( A top-secret organization that hires interns?! ) * Sayuri (laughs.) "You might wanna just run. The Jabberwock can only whiffle so fast, y'know. And then there's the thing with the teeth that bite and the claws that catch and all that." ( Hey, I'd kill to be an intern at GCI. ) (Well, yeah. But they all have their brain wiped afterwards. ^_~) "There's a convertible with the keys in the ignition across the street, if you can make it." ( Doesn't make for much of a resume :P ) * Marguerite slips her gun into her satchel. "You'll get your damn fucking SAW back AFTER we're not about to die." * Shiori runs to it. * Marguerite gets to stepping. * Robert runs to the convertable. * Sayuri decides to run that way too. "You didn't answer my QUESTION, yanno..." The Jabberwock turns to follow you. ( "Drive for the border!" "But this is Japan!" "...damn." ) * Marguerite throws open the door. "Which one of you fuckers can drive?" "And, uhm... I dunno how to get you out. Asa's on his way, but until then..." Shit. I'm the only one who can drive, aren't I. * Robert hops in the driver's seat. Then let's GO. I can DRIVE, but I'm no expert. * Marguerite hops in the back and retrieves her gun, re-warming it. * Shiori takes whatever seat's left. Well... I am. Cars have been my life for years. * Sayuri does too. ^^; * Robert starts the car. There's still a mess of stalled cars directly ahead of you, but it's clear behind you. So... We'll needs an expert. (Can I shoot whilst he drives?) * Robert checks to see if the car is automatic or manual. (Yes you can. It's a convertible, after all. +) (Rock) Lord, I wish I had KITT here. Let's rock. * Marguerite finishes her warmup and aims at the fucking Jabberwock. Shut up and drive, Marine. * Robert peels the car around into the clear street. Hope you're a good shot, lady! The Jabberwock is still whiffling your way. And there aren't even any tugley woods to hold him back. * Marguerite fires as fast as Bubba will let her. * Robert peels down the road, leaving rubber on the street. * Shiori (snacks on a snickers bar? :P ) * Sayuri grabs onto something so she doesn't fall out/fall over. (And she's shotgun, FYI.) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-2) and gets 7. * Shiori watches the Jabberwock, for lack of anything else to do, really :P ( I hate you.) (Cannae cheat with the dicebot, eh laddie?) Bubba's Blast grazes the Jabberwock's face, melting off some flesh but not doing much else other than making it angrier. (^_~) (I don't cheat. my luck doesn't work with dicebots.) * Marguerite fires again. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-2) and gets 9. JESUS. ( Sorry... ;_; ) Fucking antiquated shock absorbers ! The Almighty intervenes on MArgie's behalf, letting her roll again. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-2) and gets 5. (That's better.) The Jabberwock takes the shot to it's gut, burbling angrily but slowing down considerably. * Marguerite runs Bubba through his cooldown sequence for a round. * Sayuri looks back shakily. "Why aren't YOU shooting at it, Shiori! The more lead the better!" (I hate that defect.) Eh? I-I... * Shiori looks at her feet. "I'm sorry..." Use the SAW, Marguerite! * Sayuri taps Shiori on the head. "Don't be sorry, be shooting!" Just remember to pulse the firing a little, and you can fire it almost constantly! * Shiori nods, and fires at the thing. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (2d6) and gets 8. * Marguerite blinks. "Right! ( Ooh. Just made it :P ) * Marguerite spends the round retrieving the SAW. (SAW is a Heavy Weapon?) (yes.) ( Yeah ) ( Yep. ) Shiori's shot goes wide of the Jabberwock's long neck, doing absolutely no good. Ah... Maybe... I should use the SAW? * Robert slaps his pistol into Shiori's hand. I doubt you could handle it, lady. Sory. I doubt you're strong enough for the SAW, use this. * Sayuri looks forward and mutters to herself. "If I ever find that fragging intern I'll kick him into next week." You've now left the Jabberwock behind by a good while. * Shiori sighs and hands it back. "Guess I won't need it now..." Robert> You're approaching a t-intersection. your light is red. Gun it! * Robert guns it. * Sayuri grips the door handle (NOT The one that opens the door) and mutters. "Kick his balls through his teeth, too." Roll driving skill, Robert. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Robert (2d6-4) and gets 3. ( Against what stat, may I ask? ) Robert miraculously avoids getting so much as clipped by the four lanes of oncoming traffic. YEEEEEEHAAAAAW! WOO! * Marguerite scans for things to shoot. * Sayuri has a white-knuckle grip on the damn car door. * Robert slows to a sane speed. * Marguerite is still sitting on the back of the seat. ^_~ * Shiori sighs in relief. Marguerite> Well, that freight train crossing the road about fifty feet in front of you might do. Aw, fuck me. Something wrong, girl? Train ahead! * Marguerite aims for a coupling between cars. * Robert applies the brakes judiciously. * Sayuri ducks and continues to grip the door tightly. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-2) and gets 3. (Whew) You stop with the front of the car about five inches from the side of the rail cars. ( Oh, the SAW, for future reference, is normally loaded with AP ammo. ) (Well, if we're going to stop then we can negate my shot.) Through the slots in the train car you can see a gas station, a road, and a vast prarie. ... Area 51? ... I don't want to know. * Marguerite waits patiently for the train to pass. * Sayuri pulls her head up, breathing heavily. "... probably, yeah." I don't fucking care. (A prarie having grass, and A51 being in a desert... I can say 'no'.) The train passes. Do we go forward, or stay in Tokyo? Ah... Maybe ask Richard? * Sayuri screams, "Dammit, Richard, can we get out of here at all?" (How far back is the damn Jabberwock?) Jesus fucking christ. I hope the fucking missions don't run like this in the real world. Richard's voice comes over the intercom. "Okay, guys, Asa's here and working on something or other. Looks like the Jabberwock's on the ropes, but you've got about a dozen Bandersnatches on your six." Shit. * Robert turns around. * Marguerite wheels around. We should probably continue on... * Sayuri brushes her hair out of her eyes. "Well, the real world doesn't usually have crap quite like this." SAW, please? Shall we make a stand? * Marguerite fishes it out and hands it to him. * Shiori shakes her head. I say we keep going. * Robert takes the SAW gratefully. There's no exit, so no reason to stay in one spot. You see a pack of what look like iron-plated, steam-driven wolves closing on your car. And every reason to move. LIKE RIGHT NOW. OH, very well. It's not just those things... There's also.... * Robert puts the SAW on the seat next to him and floors the gas pedal. * Shiori loses her train of thought as they approach. Also WHAT? SPEAK! ( Seat next to him? Poor Sayuri... :P ) ( In the middle. ) The car moves. * Sayuri eyes the wolves, then eyes the gun dumped next to her nervously. * Shiori winces from Margie." Ahh... Terrorists and yakuza... I think they're secondary, considering we're leaving Tokyo./ And... Youma... * Marguerite aims and fires. Soon you're across the railroad crossing and at the intersection of what appears to be an interstate highway in America. ... The bandersnatches dodge Margie's shot. Fuck. They're far too quick. * Robert makes a snap decision and pulls onto the interstate. Wonderful. * Sayuri continues to eye the gun damn nervously, and tries to hand it to Margie. "Use this then." I really wish we had KITT here right now, or at least another combatant. The road looks clear for miles. The bandersnatches do not move to pursue. Oh great, what's keeping them from coming after us? * Marguerite reaches to grab, then stops. "Now why would they stop?" * Shiori looks at her feet. "Sorry... I'm... not much use in this situation..." Relax, luv. Not everybody can be a combat machine. * Sayuri continues hefting the gun, obviously nervous. "Someone take the damn gun, please?" Jesus. Stop apologizing. Not all of us are good at this. * Shiori blushes "Ah... L-Luv?" * Marguerite grabs it and sets it next to her. She's still on the back of the seat. Nothing personal, lass, just me roots showing through in a time of stress. You see a road sign on your right. It says "WARNING: WORLD OUT 5 MI". Ah... You have to be kidding me. * Sayuri whews, and settles against her seat. "Christ riding a navel orange... alright, now I'm getting angry." * Shiori blinks. Oh sweet jesus. Perhaps we should stop? * Robert skids to a halt. Off in the distance, you can see a spot where the horizon dissapears. At least nothing's chasing us right now. *knocks on the car's trunk. That's not wood, missy. No. But plastic's about the best I can do at the moment. * Robert turns the car around and gets ready to run again. * Sayuri mutters. "Progress, Richard?" (One moment) Asa, I want the fuck out of here. Richard's voice comes from nowhere again. "Okay, guys? Turn around and floor it. One of Asa's Lovecraft tributes is about to climb over the edge of the world." Oh god. * Robert floors it. Damn you and your fucking English education, Asa! * Marguerite looks back. * Sayuri screams. "Keep your psyche in your head like EVERYONE ELSE, please!" Hey, I like Lovecraft as much as the next guy, but I _don't_ want to fight an elder god! "And, uhm, he's working on it. I think I can keep you updated on where everything is, tho. Keep going straight until I tell you to turn." A massive, clawed hand grabs the edge of the horizon behind you. It is followed by a pair of wings and a long, pointed head with a mess of long tentacles hanging off it's chin-area. ... Oh, fuck my sainted grandmother. Cthulhu Just drive. Very, very fast. Don't SAY THAT! ... '(Ack) Cthulhu's come to call, robert. Drive FASTERRIGHTNOWFASTER JESUS. I CAN'T GO ANY FASTER!!! We are so all going to die. ASA, I'M GONNA GET YOU!!! * Sayuri attempts to calm herself down. And when he's done with your skinny limey ass, I'm gonna have a go! Why the hell do these people have a simulation for meeting and or fighting HIM!? You're going about 140. Cthulhu may have hundered-meter strides, but he can't keep up. I was wondering that as well... (He prolly made it to fight Godzilla just for kicks, or something.) (One sec.) *** Mecha has joined #ChibiRPGlite (Re.) *** Sayuri has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) *** Mecha is now known as Sayuri *** Yu-Mei sets mode: +v Sayuri Mountains begin to rise on your right as you proceed. What next...no, not gonna say it. If I say it, it'll happen. * Marguerite eyes them grimly. Next, light flash and a siren wails behind you. Looks like Robert just plowed through a speed trap. * Marguerite eyes the cop. (How far behind is he?) Kill them, please, Marguerite? Working on it. Or at least get them off of us? I'm all in favor of police, and laws, and such. The cop is already catching up to you. He apparently has one of the faster Interceptor packages. * Marguerite aims and fires. Except when being chased by an elder god. * Sayuri mutters, softly, "Just a sim." 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-2) and gets 4. (firing at the engine) The cop swerves and remains on your tail. He's still gaining. (Lucky roll on his defense.) (Bitch. Firing again.) * Marguerite shoots again. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-2) and gets 6. Shouldn't you just take out the tires? MArgie's shot fries the flashing lights and siren, but the cop keeps coming. * Sayuri mutters, weakly, "Who cares, blow the damn thing up." * Shiori aims at the tires. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (2d6) and gets 4. * Marguerite shakes her head. "Plasma'll take out most of the car no matter where I hit." She drops Bubba and picks up the SAW and fires (after Shiori) Between one thing and another, the car goes up in flames. Pitty, too, since your car's fuel light just came on. FUCK. No more running for us, people. * Shiori frowns. +() Time to make our stand. I was hoping to use him as a diversion... Stand? What are you talking about? Why can't we keep going? That... That's a bad idea. Well, we can start walking, I suppose. Drive until the car stops, at least. Will somebody tell me what the fuck is going on? To your right you see Mount Rushmore, although it seems strangely out of place there. Ah... Was there a mission involving this place? * Sayuri sighs. "We're outa fuel, Mad Dog." * Robert keeps going, dropping the speed a bit to conserve fuel. ... I am going to have that intern served to me on a platter. Up ahead is a rest stop. * Marguerite runs Bubba's cooldown sequence. * Robert pulls into the rest stop. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (2d6) and gets 9. * Marguerite grabs the SAW and slings it over her shoulder, and grabs Bubba. * Robert takes back his pistol. SAW, please? * Sayuri blinks. "Hey, since this world is fubar, why not see if I can tap into it with my computer?" * Robert reaches for his baby. * Marguerite hands it over. Go for it. * Marguerite looks at Sayuri. "How?" * Robert gratefully takes back his happyfun SAW. ( Gave that back some time ago, Rob ) * Sayuri shrugs. "I don't know." Cthulhu's ugly, ugly, ugly head begins looming over the horizon again. Aw... crap. (I had it, Shiori.) Ahh... ( Oh ) * Robert looks around for any other cars at the rest stop. * Marguerite growls. "Let's try hiding. Inside, everyone. Unless you see a car. No other cars at the rest stop, yet. There are phone booths, however. ... Sayuri, are you thinking what I am? * Sayuri ums, and pulls out her computer, and starts it up (in her hands), "Right. Might as well try." Ah... Sayuri? Can you try to hack into the world? I have an idea... * Robert looks for a police call box. * Sayuri waits for the hammer to start up. "Oh, good, an idea. We've been running out of those." Hey, geekgirl. Can you perhaps use one of those phone lines? * Sayuri shrugs and starts walking to the booths. "Yeah, yeah, working on it." Robert, let's get set up. * Marguerite walks for a door. * Shiori whispers it to her. Get under cover. * Robert walks into the building and begins setting up what cover is available. * Sayuri draws back slightly, saying, "Are you crazy.." before trailing off and shrugging. "Hey... when crazy's all you got..." It sounds... odd, but... if it works... * Marguerite calls back. "Shiori, you might want to hide. Or, if you want, you can use this." She tosses her an MP5 from her pack. * Sayuri pulls a line from her bookbag, and plugs the computer in, and gets to typing, muttering... "You'd better get to cover... right." * Shiori catches it and blinks at it. "Ahh... Alright..." Now... how do I connect to the world...? Cthulhu continues looming into vision. (5 damage, Limited Shots(6), Autofire) But... What about Sayuri? ( c:/> edit universe.exe ) * Sayuri chuckles. "World-net, here I come." ( This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down :P ) Shiori - she's under cover. Sort of. * Shiori hesitates a moment, but finally takes up a defensive position behind the gas station. (Gas station? ^^;) (gas station?_ ( Rest stop... Whatever :P ) ( Rest stops usually have gas stations anyhow :P ) * Sayuri starts humming to herself as she types. (Toll plazas do. Rest stops don't.) * Marguerite calls out. "How goes it, geekgirl?" ( Well, those are the only ones I've ever seen :P ) * Sayuri yells, "Better than I expected," before turning her attention back. Meanwhile, the ground begins to shake. Wish it was that easy in the real world. I'd get an LA mansion really quick...oh shit. * Shiori grips the MP5 nervously. * Sayuri mutters, "C'mon, c'mon, c'mon..." * Marguerite waits grimly. The ground begins skaking more, and this time a loud rumbling noise comes from Mount Rushmore, now off to your left (since you've turned around). * Sayuri is still focused on her computer, somewhat nervously. Oh great, now what? The presidents of the good old USA are gonna rise up and take on an elder god? Ah... That... I refuse to acknowledge any new crises. I am currently booked FUCKING FULL. ...Was my plan... WHAT?! ( ^_^ ) Ah... it may work... The Abraham Lincoln head moves, and the body underneath it stands up and clear of Mount Rushmore. It's always the quiet ones. ( Somebody's been watching too much Dexter's Lab. ) Thankfully, I can console myself by knowing that all of this is not actually happening. Richard's voice comes from nowhere. "Okay, I think we can get you out of there, but you'll have to make it to the exit on time." How far is it? Eh? Where is it? We don't have any transportation. Abraham Lincoln bellows "Invalid command." Sayuri, can...fuck. ... * Sayuri laughs. ... There's just... nothing one can say to that. Abe nods, and advances on the advancing Cthulhu. I bet she can, too. Can you make him move? Guess so. Richard! Wherr * Sayuri giggles. (Argh) Where's the EXIT? "Head towards Rushmore." You heard the man, let's move it. * Marguerite eyes Sayuri. "Can you move now?" * Robert hustles out of the rest stop. A police car appears next to you. * Sayuri mutters, "Gimme a sec... THERE." Sweet jesus jehosephat. * Marguerite jumps in shotgun. * Robert takes the driver's seat. Meanwhile, Abe bellows "Four Score and Seven Years Ago, I was born to RAWK !!!" He punctuates this statement by slugging Cthulhu in the face. * Shiori gets in the back, assuming there's no cop in there :P * Sayuri almost falls over laughing, and packs up her computer.; * Marguerite chuckles. You all get in. Keys are in the ignition. That was ALMOST worth it. Shut up and MOVE. I need a drink. * Robert starts the car and heads in the direction of Mount Rushmore. * Sayuri packs everything up and barely jumps in. "Sorry, not connected anymore." The offroad is a scant mile ahead, and you are soon rushing towards Rushmore. Sim drinks aren't what I need. I need a fifth of Jack. That's hard to get. "Okay, guys. Keep going. Before long you'll see a big historical marker on your right. * Robert keeps going. * Sayuri spontaneously laughs again. "Oh lord, that was so great." Lincoln and Cthulhu keep slugging it out. It's really quite impressive. * Shiori keeps her eyes out for the marker. Hey Richard, can we get a recording of this later, after we're out? I'm sure it'll be funny once it's over. * Marguerite bellows out the window. "GO BIG ABE! I'VE ALWAYS LIKED PENNIES THE BEST!" After maybe half a minute more you see the sign. "Yeah, I guess you could get a recording, if we don't have to wipe the system or anything. Now, out of the car. There should be a forested area behind the marker." (there is, indeed, a forested area.) * Marguerite grabs Bubba and hoofs it. * Robert piles out of the car. Into the forest? "Yup." * Shiori gets out and hurries towards the forest. * Robert hustles like only a marine can. * Sayuri gets out as well, and stretches as she runs (as best she can.) "I still think a live rendition of Livewire by Lincoln would rule the day." You.. are one strange girl. (I cannot tell a lie; it would prolly be pretty cool.) I think I like you. "Yeah, but I'd prefer to live through it." "Okay, now stop where you are." * Robert stops dead in his tracks. * Shiori skids to a halt. ( Figuratively speaking, of course. ) * Sayuri stops. "Which is why I didn't have him do it, darh." * Marguerite drops to one knee. "There should be two trees somewhere near you that form an archway." * Robert swings the SAW around, waiting for something to jump out at him. (Mind rolls, everyone.) "Too tired and too sober for humor." 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6) and gets 9. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6) and gets 2. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Robert (2d6) and gets 7. ( With perception bonus? ) Margies sees it first. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (2d6) and gets 6. "See it?" Not a clue, man. * Shiori points. "There." * Sayuri shakes her head... and looks where Shiori points. Yep. Hokay, so we walk through that? "Okay. Walk up to the archway and say..." There's a pause. Richard's voice sounds, more quietly; "You're kidding, right? ...you're not kidding? ...fine." If he says to say "Friend" I'm gonna scream. ( What if it's "Kirby"? ^_^ ) "Walk up the archway and say 'Boogah-boogha-boo, magic door thingey appear.'" ... That's... stupid. * Sayuri chuckles. "Well, you have to admit, nobody would say that accidentally." "Hey, don't look at me." * Marguerite steps up and grumblingly says "Boogah-boogah-boo, magic door thingey appear." Asa, we are going to have a nice little chat once I have gotten good and drunk. * Sayuri snaps her fingers and says, "Shoulda brought a tape recorder." * Marguerite growls and kicks a rock at Sayuri. A door appears in the archway, and opens. There are technicians standing on the other side, who cheer upon seeing you. * Marguerite hustles through. One of them shouts for you to hurry through. * Robert hustles through. MOVE IT! Someone have a drink? Anyone? Anything? * Sayuri walks through tiredly, but quickly, she guesses... * Shiori hurries through. Another asks if he really sees Abe Lincoln fighitng Cthulhu. Okay, who's the... intern... who was responsible for this? Why yes. Yes you do. And it's all Shiori and my fault. Well, us and whoever the guy that's gonna get his teeth kicked in. * Marguerite powers down Bubba and slips him away. I get second kick to the groin, Sayuri./ Where's that intern? Richard steps out of the door to your left. "Okay. Who wants drinks?" * Shiori stows her gun away. I swear, I'm gonna make him serve up his own balls on a silver platter. If you mean drinks as in alcohol, I'll take a scotch and water. Otherwise I'll just take the water. Give me whatever you have, Richard. Ah... I dont't drink... Richard gestures. "C'mon, I know a place in town that has good stuff." * Sayuri yawns. "I think I'll just sle..." and trails off, frowning to herself. "Maybe not." The simulator doors close behind you. [End Session.
