You are standing in what you have been told is a holo-simulator. At the moment, it just looks like another waiting room. Dejiko has asked that you all report here for an "Introduction to GCI training procedure." She didn't bother to explain it much beyond that, really. (BTW, as to room definitions; Sayuri has the misfortune of being the roomate of Marguerite. Shiori doesn't share a room with anyone, yet, and neither does Robert.) (*snrk*) ( Heh ) ( Hehehe. ) (Now, I'm assuming that most of your characters have yet to meet, so introductions are in order. ^_~) ( Did the session start? ) Not yet. [SESSION START!] * Marguerite drops her satchel to the floor and starts hunting through the pockets of her camouflage jumpsuit. Finding what she's looking for, she slips on a pair of black fingerless gloves. * Sayuri brushes her hair back and scans over everyone with her grey eyes, resettling her bookbag up on her shoulder. * Marguerite glances around at the rest of the people in the room as she does so. There is a cheesy muzac version of "Black-hole Sun" playing over the loudspeakers. A bunch of magazines that nobody in their right mind would want to read line the racks to either side of the room. * Shiori stands still, nervous that she's being stared at. (So Sayuri and I have assumedly already met? (Yup.) * Robert holds the only comfortable position he has, holding his SAW at the ready. * Marguerite nods at Sayuri. "Sleep well?" She starts to french braid her hair. * Sayuri also mutters, "Bloody muzak," and looks up at Margie's question. "Well enough." * Sayuri also adds, almost an afterthought, "You?" * Marguerite grins. "I always sleep well when I'm in a bed. Spending weeks on jungle branches'll do that to ya." Jungle branches? I remember sleeping on those. * Marguerite finishes her braiding with a practices flair, and nods. "Yeah. damn uncomfortable, aren't they?" * Shiori sighs, putting her hands into her trenchcoat pockets. You're right, getting a nice hard bed feels much better. * Marguerite thrusts her hand out to Robert. "Marguerite McLochlane. Also known as Mad Dog. How're ya." I'd shake your hand, Miss, but my hands are full. * Robert gestures with the SAW. (There are four chairs, two on each side of the small room. There is a small potted fern to the right of one of the chairs. A piece of one of the foam cieling tiles seems to have been broken off. There is a water cooler, as well. (Could Robert explain what a SAW is, for those of us less psychically inclined? ^_~) ( If y'all don't know, SAW stands for Squad Automatic Weapon, and it's what Arnold Schwarzenegger carried in Predator. ) (Thanks. ^^;) ( I was already typing the description when you asked. ) ( I thought it was an actual saw ;.; ) * Sayuri looks back and decides to sit in a chair. * Marguerite nods. "Nice piece ya got there." She winks. (Thankyew. I was confused, too, since I didn't see it listed as such on your char sheet. c_c) * Robert is a large white man with blackish brown hair in a crewcut. ( It's the heavy machine gun, Yu. ) * Marguerite lifts the satchel onto a chair, checks the braid in her red hair, and extends her hand to Shiori. "And you?" Eh? Ah, Shiori T-Tominaga. * Shiori bows politely. *** Togo has joined #ChibiRPGLite Pleased to meet you. ( 'lo all ) ( Jesse, that you? ) ( Lo. ) *** GM sets mode: +v Togo ( Ayup ) * Sayuri yawns and taps her finger on her bookbag. "Hate waiting. * Marguerite digs around in her bag, and produces a plasma rifle seemingly far too large to actually fit in the bag. She grins widely. "And this here's Bubba." Patience is a virtue. Morning, Togo. Ah... So that was it... Another chair appears across from the fern. * Robert nods at Bubba. * Sayuri snorts. "Patience is something made up so that people who have nothing to do can feel good about themselves for being 'virtuous'." This baby here is Sally. * Robert motions with the SAW. * Marguerite chuckles, and nods at Robert. She chews through ammo like nothing else, but she's easily worth it. * Sayuri sighs and leans back, closing her eyes. * Togo walks into the waiting room and sits down. "Dejiko'll be here in a minute." * Marguerite nods to Togo. "And you might be?" Togo. Some people call me Dead Eyes. He's Dejiko's bodyguard, too. * Marguerite nods. "I'm Marguerite. Sometimes called Mad Dog." ( Togo's a tall lanky guy with white hair, wearing all black (long-sleeved t-shirt, cargo pants, trenchcoat), and wearing unusual looking sunglasses. ) Jeeze, sounds like I'm in a marine barracks. ( I thought I'd have the only trenchcoat ;.; ) * Togo shrugs. "But you'll only ever call me Margie once, cause I'll shoot you for it." She grins. * Togo cocks his head slightly. "I 'll remember that." (Have you all described yourselves, BTW?) (For those who missed it, Maggie's 180 lbs, 5' 8", red hair, green eyes, wearing a forest-style camo jumpsuit, army boots, and fingerless black gloves. She's carrying a dark blue satchel.) ( Oh, and Togo also has Gene Starwind-esque scars where his skin is visible, most noticeable around his sunglasses ) (Sayuri's about 5'6", 110 lb, black hair/grey eyes, wearing a black AC/DC shirt and some torn-up blue jeans, with a red book-bag slung over her shoulder. Anyway.) ( Robert's somewhere above six feet, weighs twice as much as Sayuri. ) ( Shiori's about 5'5", 109 lbs, waist-length black hair, Emerald eyes, wearing a non-descript business suit and a long trench- coat. ) ( I'm cute, too :P ) ( All except Robert are female? ) ( And you. ) ( True. ) At that moment, Dejiko enters the room. She is 5'8" and fairly attractive. She has a pair of dark shades hanging out of the pocket of her GCI officer's uniform. As usual, you can all read 'Do Not Mess With Me' in the way she carries herself. * Shiori tries to avoid her gaze. "Good morning, cadets." Morning, Sir. * Togo nod/grunts * Sayuri sighs and opens her eyes, muttering (impossible to hear) "Damn my lack of skill..." and looks at Dejiko. "Yo.." * Marguerite grins. "Hey, Fearless Leader." Ah... Good morning. "Today we will be introducing all of you, with the exception of Togo, to the way we do field training here at the GCI." Reminds me of the Danger Room. It'd better not be one of those crappy VR systems. The Libyans had one that gave me migraines. "Well, Marguerite, what do you think of our VR system so far?" * Marguerite looks around. "What, is the plant silk?" "Oh, and by the way, I suggest you all stand for a moment." You didn't see the chair appear earlier? * Robert is already standing, luckily. * Sayuri chuckles, and stands, stretching. "This seems awfully coherent for VR. Would be interesting to take a peek at." * Togo stands "Asa? Blank-room." * Shiori hasn't moved since she got here :P * Marguerite blinks. "No, I was a little busy pulling out my ordinance. But if this is the system, I get the feeling I won't be needing too much aspirin. The waiting room dissapears, replaced by a vast, empty room. There is absolutely no echo, and you cannot tell where the room's lighting comes from. * Robert nods. Told you. Damn, even the military doesn't have this quality reproduction. "Today you will be allowed to selevt your own VR scenario. Asa and I will fill you in on details of the scenarios, as well as telling which we would and would not recommend." (select, even.) * Sayuri looks around at the voidness. "It's most likely the bleeding edge, considering the talent a place like this can garner." * Marguerite chuckles. "The best mercs and the fastest hax0rz. Why not the damn best VR?" It might be alien tech, just like the original. "Asa? Bring up the slection screen please." * Sayuri grins at Margie. "Exactly." She also glances at Robert briefly, quizically. A voice from nowhere -- you assume it is Asa -- says "I will personally kill the first person to make a Matrix ref." ( Robert is Miyu's father. ) A large creen appears in front of you, in vivid color. * Marguerite blinks. "I... damn, that's eerie..." Matrix? * Sayuri says loudly, "And how many people would know the Matrix, anyway? The sequels stopped before I was born." * Sayuri chuckles to herself, before looking at the screen. "Had a good Zombie song in it, the only reason I know it..." On the screen appear rows of text. They read; "Ampitheater", "Area 51", "Atlantis", "Cretacious Park", "Downtown Tokyo", "Downtown New York", "GCI HQ", and "Through the Looking Glass". * Marguerite shakes her head, coming out of a reverie, and peruses the selections. Ooh, New York... * Shiori scans the words quickly. Cretacious park looks fun, though. Dejiko> "Take your time choosing. I'll be up in the controll booth. Shout if you need me." Area 51? I thought that was decommissioned. Asa> "Ask for one of the scenarios and I can bring up some pictures and such." Okay, how about Downtown New York? * Togo looks at Dejiko. "What do you want me here for?" * Marguerite 's eyes light up. "Asa? Asa Morgenstern? Dammit, you Limey bastard! How the hell did you get here?" * Sayuri mms. "Hey, Dejiko, where's those recommendations? I doubt simulated death is that much fun." If this is like the original, death would be real. Dejiko turns back to Togo. "You're here for backup, of course. You asked for something to do, after all. As to reccomendations, I think this particular gathering could handle any of the scenarios, other than Atlantis and New York. Anything else, before I go?" Asa> "I work here, Margie. Hell, I'm the one what made this thing work." * Togo shrugs. "Okay. Just wanted to know." Ah... I'm curious as to what each mission would involve... * Marguerite shakes her head, chuckling. "I should have smelled you all over this tech, Asa. But we can catch up after this ... training. I'll see you later." She turns back to the screen. "Whatever is fine. I'm easy." Dejiko> "Ask for a speciffic mission's details and Asa will bring up the list. Now, I'm of to the control booth." She turns and walks out a door that comes out of nowhere. * Sayuri nods absently, before chuckling as she scans the list, side- commenting, "I never knew, Mad Dog." Okay... Asa, what're the specs on Downtown Tokyo? * Togo checks his guns, nods approvingly, and replaces them in their holsters Ah, shaddap, you key-puncher. You know what I meant. 'Sides, it takes at _least_ dinner and a movie. * Marguerite flips a few switches on Bubba and he starts to hum. /me smirks. "High standards, there." The screen changes, brining up several pictures of Downtown Tokyo. The pictures are accompanied by large, easy-to-read text proclaiming; (Frown. For some reason /me has been having problems recently.) "One of three scenarios can be had in Tokyo;" ( Check your commands list? ) Nothing wrong with easy women, they make life interesting. ( Assuming that's possible :P ) Of course, that's true of women in general. * Shiori glances at Robert briefly. "1) Chase a group of terrorists through downtown at rush hour, and try to stop them from destroying the Tachibana Insurance Tower." "2) Uncover a drug smuggling ring led by the Yakuza." Never said there was anything wrong with it, boyo... Hey, downtown at rush hour. Makes me wish I could fit KITT up here. "3) Fight a giant youma rampaging through a theme park." a giant... youma? Aw, damn. Saving things is always less fun than blowing them up in the first.... now THAT sounds interesting. ( Heh. ) Why couldn't they replicate your silly car? They could replicate the Van, of course. But they could never truly recreate KITT> He's... unique. I'll have to introduce you sometime. * Marguerite raises an eyebrow at Robert, then returns to Bubba's warmup sequence. * Sayuri yawns and stretches. "Maybe I will, if it can talk. And I'd have to say that killing stuff is not my forte, FYI." Dejiko's voice comes over the speakers. "Oh, and there is a new scenario I've added. It's the most difficult, although it doesn't have as much action as some of the others. Return to the main menu to see it, if you want." More difficult than the ones you reccommend we not try? Sounds fun. Asa, you wanna take us to that one? * Marguerite sits down and rummages through her satchel again. "Sure. It'll be kinda' tough, tho. Since you've got a nice mix of shooters and thinkers, tho..." That which does not kill us, kicks our asses and makes us work harder. * Sayuri mutters. "Speak for yourself." Or maims us, depending on your point of view. * Marguerite pulls out several cylindrical pieces and starts screwing them together. "I prefer to work smarter, not harder, if that's quite alright with you." Smart is good. The screen dims and brightens, and at the top is the text "Granma's House." There is one picture of a horribly ugly blue house in a forest. Underneath the picture is the text "Someone is trying to take Granma's land from her. See who it is and stop them." Is it the big bad wolf? Hmmm... * Togo pulls out his guns and afixes the silencers to them... just in case. * Sayuri chuckles. "That is an enourmously unhelpful desctiption. Just vague enough to be useless." It's a wonderful description. It gives the objective, and nothing else. What do you guys think. I wouldn't want to drag any of you in over your heads. * Marguerite finishes the grenade launcher and grins. "And it doesn't say how." She sights along the barrel. I'm good for it. Whatever everyone else lies. Dejiko's voice comes over the speakers. "More information will be abailable to you once you enter the scenario, should you want to try it. Mind you, this one could easily take several days of training sessions to complete." Never ask your superiors for clarification. That way, they can't blame you if you fuck up. Of course, when you die, it doesn't matter. And I don't feel like days of training. Or you can not fuck up. (OOC note: You will *so* not finish Granma's House in one session. It's a long and involved one.) * Togo nods at Sayuri. "Who's responsible is irrelevant if you're on a cement slab." * Marguerite places the launcher on the ground beside Bubba, and digs in the satchel once more. Ah... We should probably look at a different one... I guess... If you like. I'm up for anything. (However, if you do pick it, I'll happily continue it nightly. ^_~) Just hurry it up a bit. The second and third Tokyo scenarios sound fun. That Yakuza one also seemed like it was a mix, although it would depend on which point you started at. And Marg..uerite is right. Ah... It doesn't really matter to me... I just thought... * Shiori shakes her head. "Anything's fine." (From here, BTW, you can pick this scenario or go back to the main menu.) Asa. Show the Downtown New York scenarios. The New York scenarios come up. There are two; 1) Keep terrorists from toppling the World Trade Center. 2) Demons have been coming from the sewers of New York City. Find the person who is summoning them and stop them! Demons? Mmm. Ghostbuster-y. Any opinions? * Sayuri shudders slightly. "... Well. I think someone in GCI has a thing for demons and the like." Dejiko's voice comes over the speakers. "For the record, these are both very difficult combat-oriented scenarios. I have yet to beat the first one, myself." I don't think it's a good idea... They said we probably weren't ready for this one... * Sayuri then blinks and shakes her head. I'm used to being told to do things that I shouldn't be able to do. "Maybe so. But I don't want you watching my back if you think you're a superman." She thinks. "Show the Through The Looking Glass ones, Asa." o/~ I am... my own superman... and I can do anything... o/~ Haven't you heard? All true marines are invincible. ^_^ * Sayuri looks over at Robert very oddly, before looking back at the screen. Asa> Sure. And stop singing, Robert. Except for the ones I've killed. * Marguerite slips a knife into her belt. If you like, Asa. Don't you like my wonderful singing voice? * Robert has a _horrible_ singing voice. The screen shifts again. There are pictures of outlandish scenes and creatures, accompanied by the text; "Search for the March Hare in a perfectly brillig environment. But beware the Jabberwock." O_O No thank you. How about Area 51? * Togo takes off the silencers... shines the guns... checks the ammo seven times... The screen shifts. "Search for a randomly selected completion item in a military complex that is abandoned. Or is it?" Christ, let's just PICK one. A good old fashioned dungeon crawl. I say we take it, while the taking's good. ( Heh. The way this is going, picking one will be the entire session ^_^ ) (No kidding. c.c I'll be sure to narrow the choices next time.) "Sounds good to me." She looks at Sayuri. "What think ye?" ( Giving the players a choice is always a bad idea. ) * Sayuri nods. "Yeah. Go for it." Right. We'll take that one, Asa. Asa> Sure thing. * Togo mutters. "Finally..." The screen dissapears, and the Nevada desert takes shape around you. You are standing at a spot where a four-lane interstate highway meets a narrow and cracked asphalt road. * Marguerite slips a smaller backpack on, and slings a bandolier across her chest. The land around you is mostly flat, broken here and there by a spire of rock. * Robert looks around for this base they're supposed to be assaulting. * Marguerite cinches the satchel, slips the launcher onto her back, and hefts Bubba. Let's get it cracking. * Togo eyes Marguerite's gun, and decides that silencers would be something of an exercise in futility * Sayuri looks around and mms. "Hey, someone, what IS our randomly selected completion item?" Down the narrow road is what looks like a military base; you an see a high perimeter fence with barb wire over the top, empty guard towers, and a control tower. We weren't told. Dejiko's voice comes from nowhere, in a deadpan; "You must find the jade monkey before the next full moon." Jade monkey, huh? Oh, sweet jesus, Dejiko... Can do. * Sayuri waves her hand at the air. "Which is why I asked the Omniscient Asa n'Dejiko, like that." Let's go. * Marguerite sighs, and begins walking. * Togo follows along, eyeing the area. Out of context with the base, however, is a very large neon sign proclaiming; "WELCOME to scenic AREA 51, NEVADA!" * Robert keeps to the middle of the party, swiveling back and forth. * Shiori follows at the end of the group, taking in the surroundings. * Sayuri shakes her head and just walks. "Woulda been better without the oppressive heat. just have to grin and bear it. A desert without heat's like a jungle without humidity, geekgirl. A lot more comfortable. Might be a good idea to figure out if anyone's in that control tower which has a clear line of sight to use before we go waltzing up to that front door... ( -e ) The area around wou looks like late afternoon. It is very hot, yes, but it's a dry heat. * Sayuri snorts. "Yeah, I'll bear it, but be dammned if I grin at it." She then snickers at Margie. Nobody is visible within the control towers. No noise is coming from the compound. * Togo nods. "Now we waltz in the front door." (If it's open.) * Marguerite stands to the side, eyeing the towers. "Try the door". * Robert stands in front of the gate, holding the SAW at the ready. It's not a particularly good idea for me to be the one to break it down, you know. It is open. (Good lord, people, is it OPEN first?) ( HEh ) * Robert kicks the gate open. Through the doors you see a few hangars. The gate laughs at Robert's attempt to kick it. Well, not literally, but you get the idea. ( Heh. ) Wow. What a masculine display of stupidity. * Sayuri looks around and chuckles. (Hangar labeling?) Wanna try pushing it now? You try opening a door with both of your hands full, woman. * Togo loads Hollow Points into his guns, and walks through the door. * Robert backs off. * Marguerite grins. "That's what shoulders are for. And other people." She follows Togo through, eyes flitting everywhere. * Robert walks through, swiveling back and forth to cover more area. In case you were wondering, you've now reached the gates. Through them, you see four hangars and a building marked BARRACS against the back wall, a large compound to your left, and an aircraft control tower to your right. Directly to your right is what seems to be a guard shack. * Shiori follows at the end, as usual, sticking close to the walls, and looks at the guard tower. The hangars are marked 1 through 4. You see no sign that any of the buildings have been used for years. * Sayuri frowns. "Well. Do we want to split up, or what?" Pair up sounds best. ( Guard tower? ^^; ) The guard towers are all empty. Pairing is the way to go, if we split up. You all do realize we have 5 people... * Marguerite counts heads. "One person want to go alone, or make one of 2 and one of 3?" Oh. Yeah. * Sayuri shrugs. "I'll go alone." Hope you can take care of yourself. Not like it takes much firepower to do my sort of work anyway. Going off alone is a good way to get your head blows off. * Sayuri chuckles. "Who said anything about needing to 'go' anywhere?" But what if you run in to something...? She's a hacker. Find her a dataport and she's set. Damn skippy. Somebody has to cover her ass while she's hacking. Firewalls don't stop bullets. ...I will. Ah... I could probably go alone... The rest of you go as a group and check things out. * Sayuri shrugs. "Fair enough. Hope you have that 'patience' thing, Robert." I'm a marine. * Togo nods. "Better." * Marguerite chuckles. "In that case, make sure you explain it to him in small words, Sayuri." Shall we go? * Marguerite starts to make her way to the first hangar. Let's find you a network port, Sayuri. I'm not much for computers, so you'll have to figure out where to go. The first hangar bravely stands it's ground as Margie advances. * Sayuri nods. "I'd guess the Compound or this Guard shack here." Let's check the guard shack first, then. * Robert walks slowly toward the guard shack. (Damn. Saved on its fear check, huh?) * Sayuri nods and starts walking, chuckling too. "You can lead, oh fearless one." Alright. Split time. I'll go with Margie, Togo, and Shiori first. ( Cool with me, I need to grab some water. ) * Sayuri (stretches. "Gonna get some drink, then, yo.") (Actually, everyone take five. I need something to drink, too.) (Aight) ( Coo' ) :-( :-\ ( augh. ) Back. ( Coo' ) (Ditto) Everyone lemme know if they're ready. ( Ready ) ( BORN READY! ) ( ... ) ( Still ready :P ) (Hey, Cham, WAKE UP.) (I'm guessing Margie's ready, too. Just need whasisface and whosername.) ( Will die ready if this doesn't get going. =P ) (I already said I was ready.) ( Eh, I'm here. ) ( I'm not up til the second part, though. ) (Okay. So we resume. ^_^) ( Wai ) Margie is leading her troops on a march against the spot where hanger one is entrenched. (Damn pesky gazebos.) * Togo eyes Shiori. "You carrying any weapons?" * Shiori hurries to catch up after hesitating at the station a sec. (Only Mecha will get that joke.) Eh? Yes... ( Evil Gazebos? ) * Marguerite looks back. "Well, better get them ready..." ( That try to eat you? ) ( Eric and the Dread gazebo... ) (It's from an online RP magazine. Long joke.) (Indeed. Demo would get it too, but eh.) * Marguerite continues walking till she actually reaches the hangar. Margie is now in front of the gaze, er, hangar. ( I call out to the hangar! Does it respond in any way? ) (Is there a person-sized door?) There is a very big red button on the right side of the hangar door that says "OPERATE DOOR". * Togo walks up just behind Mad Dog. (oh.) Get ready. * Marguerite leans back against the wall, and waits for the others to get into position. Below the button is a sign that says "STAND CLEAR OF DOOR WHEN OPERATING." * Shiori takes up a careful position against a wall, and draws a rather large pistol. (I'm on the part of the wall that is not the door, just to clear that up.) Shall I go in first, or do either of you wanna? ( Likewise. ) Let's see if anything comes out to meet us, first. * Marguerite slaps the button. The door falls outward immediately, making a whole lot of noise. Fortunately, you did as the sign instructed. * Togo pulls his pistols out. "Strategy isn't your strong point, is it?" Jesus. Some damn idjit designed THAT. Only on good days, Togo. * Marguerite pauses, then spins inward, scanning the hangar. Inside is an inky blackness. A sound like an engine coming to power is heard, and two red eyes light up. * Togo ducks into the room. "Cover me. I'll check it out." * Shiori peeks around the corner through the door. * Marguerite blinks, then peers. ... find some cover. Quick. * Marguerite backs behind the wall again., Banks of lights hanging from the cieling come on one by one, gradually illuminating... a thirty-foot tall steel teddybear. Oh, fuck me sideways.... * Shiori blinks. The bear reguards you. " WHO DISTURBS MY NAP?!?!? " * Togo decides to change to armor-piercing rounds, just in case... I don't suppose you happen to have a jade monkey in yer metal guts? ... is that a giant teddy-bear, or are my glas- or am I seeing things? That is quite definitely a bear. The bear takes a single footstep forward. "TEDDY WILL SMASH THE BAD PEOPLE!!!!!" Fuck. (Fight or flight time, folks. ^_~) * Marguerite aims an pops a shot of plasma at the teddy's hea.d (What is this flight you speak of? ^_~) Combat it is, then. ^_~ We gotta find that monkey... and if we gotta do it over this thing's dead body, so be it And... aww, fuck. I don't have a dicebot in here. c.c; One sec. ( I'll bring in Dicesuke. ) (Thanks.) *** Dicesuke has joined #ChibiRPGLite ( What's the dice roll for initiative again? ) ( Pleased to meet you, I'll be your executioner for the night. ) ( d6+ ACV ) ( Ah, thanks. ) * Sayuri (chuckles. "Roll dice in secret, sayeth the shadowrun book.) (And make fake rolls too. I like that.) How do you use the dicebot? ( Standard GM tactics, actually. ) 2 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Robert (2 2d6+2) and gets 12 9. d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Robert (d6) and gets 1. ( Like that. ) d0 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (d0) and gets 1. ( ^_^ ) (Can't do it in /msg, huh?) ( Nope, sorry. ) ( You can use daisuke... ) ( Just /msg roll xdx ) (Well, are we doing it in or out of the channel, Yu?) For combat, I find the dicebot better, tho. Everything else can be done in private, as long as you let me know. (*nod*) d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (d6+6) and gets 7. (...balls.) d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (d6+8) and gets 13. d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (d6+8) and gets 10. ( The maximums are 12 10000d9999 + x, by the way. ) [Togo, Shiori, Marige, Teddy.] Go, Togo! (...Marige?) ( Go go Togo! ) (Margie. My bad. :P) ( Hey, Marige is kinda cool. ) * Togo fires shots with each of his pistols at the bear. 2 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2 2d6-3) and gets 3 4. ( Currently using armor-piercing bullets, BTW ) (Gyuh. In the future, Jesse, I'd appreiate it if you have damage and such listed on the sheet. ^^;) (wow.) +c ( I do. =P ) ( A few lines under my HP ) Ah ha. Alright. The bullets impact against Teddie's decidedly un-plush frame, leaving welts but not doing much else. Shiori! ( ... it's resistant to AP rounds. o_O ) * Shiori takes aim from her position behind the wall, and fires. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (2d6) and gets 10. ( What's it made outta, Gundanium? =P ) Shiori's bullet doesn't know where it's going, and knocks out one of the lights in the cieling. (No, just lots and lots and lots and lots of steel. Lots.) ( Crap. ) ( This is where the word "flight" derived from... ^_^ ) Margie! * Marguerite rolls into the doorway and blasts the damn teddy with a glob of plasma.) * Sayuri (chants, "Plasma! Plasma!" roll 2d6-3 (ack.) ( no "roll" ) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6-3) and gets 6. The glob o' plasma clips Teddie's shoulder, melting away armor, and revealing.... more armor. Jesus Fucking Mary and Joseph! I think we need to cut our losses before we become losses... ( Margie suddenly discovers what "flight" means... :P ) (Shaddap, you. ^_^;;) Teddie bellows in rage, and his eyes glow brighter. They fire a beam of energy that wreaks holy hell on some crates near Margie, prodicing a large enough explosion to knock her to the floor (but no damage). * Shiori nods. "We're not getting anywhere..." ( Gotta idle. Something with police... ) ( O.o ) (gurk? o_O) Uhm... while Togo deals with the nice police-folk, let's cut to the other group, ne? ^^; ( Good idea. C.c ) I'll assume that they make it out of the hangar, and we'll resume from there in a bit. Now, back to Robert and Sayuri, who have made it to the door of the guard shack. (Wai, we rule.) You're going to have to see if the door is open. I'll cover you. (Is the door even closed at all?) It sure is. * Sayuri shrugs and attempts to open it. "How brave of you, Sir Marine." ... The door opens. Inside is a rather non-threatening desk with a mickey-mouse phone on it. The phone is facing the door. Out of the way, miss. * Sayuri gets out of the way (to the right?). "Sure." * Robert walks through the door and sweeps the room for enemies. Inside is a room. On the far right is a ladder leading up to the guard shack. On the left is a water cooler and a wall-mounted air conditioner. Behind the desk is a filing cabinet. Go to it, Miss. * Sayuri nods, says brightly, "Thank you, Mister Marine!" and picks up the phone. "Wonders if the lines are alive." You hear a beep, and then silence from the phone. ... * Sayuri frowns. "Line ain't live. No good." ( Did I hear the beep? ) Robert> Yes. * Robert drops the SAW and jumps on top of Shiori. ( Er, Sayuri, even. ) ( O.o ) ( Quite a jump. ) * Sayuri oofs and falls! "The hell?" DOWN! * Robert waits for the explosion. The reciever is knocked from Sayuri's hands. You faintly hear Mickey Mouse's voice say, "Hu-huh! Hiya, kids!... uh, hello?" * Robert lets out the breath he'd been holding. Phew. * Sayuri looks up at Robert cooly (as cooly as you can when you're being pinned by a big guy.) "Off me, please?" Er, sorry about that. * Robert stands up and picks up the SAW again. There is a definite lack of any explosion. I'm a little leery about things that go beep and then go silent. (Ah. I'll have to do that more, then. ^_~) * Sayuri chuckles and stands, brushing herself off. "Well... if something had happened, you probably would have saved most of my life. Stupid, but brave. Thanks." ( Two people claiming to be marshalls are trying to seize my dad's car. Can't RP at the moemnt. ) ( Will be back eventually ) *** Togo is now known as TogoAway (Uhm... shit, dude. c.c;) (er.) ( O.o ) ( Nani? ) ( Holy shite. ) (Heh. There was a scam in Vermont where guys dressed up as police, stopped cars, and 'accosted' women. Anyway.) (Cham would say it's the whole 'Bavarian Fire Drill' effect, most likely.) (Anyway.) (Yep.) * Sayuri reaches for the phone. "Hello? Anywhoo. Mickey Mouse's voice continues. "Hello? ...aww, shucks, I hope the wind didn't just knock the reciever off again... Oh, hi!" * Robert continues looking around, paranoid. Robert> Nothing tries to jump out and slit your throat, or anything. Hi. Um... do you know where I can find a computer? Or a jade monkey? "Uh, no, not really. There's another phone jack in here, tho. 'Least, I hope so." Well, that would help me greatly... mmm. Thanks, guy. "Sure!" * Sayuri hangs up, and scans the room looking for the other phone jack. * Sayuri also mutters something about cheery people while doing so. The only phone jack you see is the one the Mickey Mouse phone is plugged into. * Sayuri frowns. "Phone guy said there was another phone jack in here. Wouldja help me search behind stuff?" ...okay. * Robert carefully sets down the SAW on the floor. What do you need moved first? (The only item directly against the wall is the filing cabinet.) * Sayuri shrugs, and tries to look under/behind the desk to wall. "Pick something." * Robert grabs ahold of the filing cabinet and tries to pull it away from the wall. Robert> you succeed, and behind the cabinet is a phone line. ( Oookay... they took my dad's car, despite my dad being pretty sure he's no more than a month behind, and my mom's completeply snapped. ) Found it. ( Oro? Repomen? ) ( Rping is probably not an option right now. Sorry people. ) (Behind on what?) ( Argh. ) ( Car payments ) (I can weasel your char out of the game, if you want? Or do you wanna keep going?) ( Sorry to hear that Jesse X.x ) ( Weasal him out. I can't RP right now, with my mom screaming and throwing things. ) (Gomen ne.) (Yeah. @_@) ( Yeah, that always distracts me. ) ( O.o ) ( Gotta go. Later ) *** TogoAway has quit IRC (Quit: I've only got one finger left, and it's pointing at the door. ) (Damn. I was gonna tell 'im to call the police to confirm it. c.c;) (Anywhoo. I'll take Togo out once we get back to that group.) Anywhoo. Robert found a phone line, and announced such to the world in general. *** Mecha has joined #ChibiRPGLite *** GM sets mode: +v Mecha *** Sayuri has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) *** Mecha is now known as Sayuri Anywhoo. Robert found a phone line, and announced such to the world in general. Your phone line was behind the filing cabinet. * Sayuri grins like a kid seeing a shiny toy, and sets down her backpack, rummaging through, saying, "Excellent," and pulls out the Electron Hammer. (A black laptop covered in spraypanted yellow/gold lightning bolts.) The computer hums to life, and goes "beep". It is then relatively silent. * Sayuri proceeds to also pull out a phone cord and connect the Hammer up to the wall, before getting started in the hacking process. Now is as good a time as any to cut to the other group, so... ( Assume Togo got eaten by the bear? ) When last we left our heros, they were being chased by Teddie, the Gundam Bear. ( o_O ) (We got split up during the running and screaming bit.) They'd just made it out of the hangar door. (Or not.) Both margie and Shiori notice the huge, red, jolly, candy-like button marked OPERATE DOOR. ( We weren't running. We were both still outside :P ) * Marguerite roundhouse kicks the button. ( At least, I was o.O ) * Shiori ... doesn't hit the button. (I was too, I thought. Ah well.) ( :P ) Shiori manages to dive off of the door before it snaps back up, again making lots of noise. * Shiori stands up hurriedly. "What about Togo?" * Marguerite looks around. "What, he wasn't out here?" Damn. Togo is next to you, frowning deeply. Oh, there he is. A door opens up from nowhere and a hand yanks him out of the sim. You hear Dejiko saying, "Sorry, need 'im elsewhere." Oh, balls. * Shiori blinks. I guess... we're on our own. Not the first time. * Marguerite heads towards the second hangar., * Shiori follows behind her. The second hangar is identical to the first. (Let's hope the interior varies.) * Marguerite eyes the button. "Well, no time like the present." She smacks it. * Shiori takes up another defensive position against a part of the wall that is not the door. The door splits in two down the middle and is drawn to either side like a curtain. Inside, lights come on, illuminating a stage. Upon the stage is an A-Class autonomous assault mecha, dressed in British livery. Ah... The mecha starts singing a song from the H.M.S. Penafore(and I dunno if I spelled that right). * Shiori blinks. * Marguerite actually lowers her gun in surprise. ( Pinafore. ) (Pinafore.) The mecha has a rich baritone voice, and is evidently a very well- trained singer. (And thanks.) ( Anything eye-catching in the room? ) (ASIDE from the dancing mech?) ( :P ) In the wings, you see other mechs in various costumes. Two in particular catch your eye; one seems to be consoling the other, which is pacing and generally looking about as worried as a giant killing machine can manage. ( Like that :) ) * Shiori blinks again. (Sweet jesus. I don't beleive I'm going to do this.) * Marguerite makes a mad dash for the wing with the pacing mech, avoiding feet. * Shiori watches in surprise, then follows. Ah... I'm not sure this is such a good idea! Your point? The mecha that's singing does not notice you. The pacing mecha turns and jumps back with a yelp, tho. It says, "Wh-what are you doing backstage? Christ, the show's on!" I'm a therapist. You have issues? Let's talk! "What?!? I can't talk now, I'm on in three minutes!" You have stage fright? The other mecha says, "No, it's just his first performance. Jesus, everyon'e nervous on there first performance, right?" * Shiori stands back and lets Marguerite do the talking. (I have no idea what I'm doing. I swear.) ( You're flying by the seat ofyour pants, that's what. ) Ah. Well, break a leg! Say, any of you know anything about a jade monkey? (Neither do I, really. c.c;) (I'm being spontaneous, and IC. I think.) Nervousmech>"Uh, g-green monkey?" Othermech>"Uh, no. The grape ape is backstage, tho." * Marguerite raises her eyebrow. "Grape ape?" ( Is there a... yeah. ) CalmMech> "Yeah, y'know, about fifty feet high, purple, only has two words in his vocabulary?" Hm. I don't think that's what I'm looking for. Exit, stage left. * Marguerite takes off running. * Shiori stammers "G-Good luck", then follows Marguerite. The mecha singing on stage notices you this time, but tries hard to ignore you. The nervous mecha wails. "He said good luck! Oh, God, I'm gonna crash and burn, I just know it!" * Marguerite pauses outside the door to catch her breath. Now that was damn freaky. * Shiori nods. ( Geez. I feel sorry for him now >.< ) (Never say "Good luck" to an actor, btw.) * Marguerite straightens and goes to the third hangar. * Shiori follows. We now cut to the other group. (Not that yer char would know that, but whatever.) ( Actually, she probably would. I didn't, though ^_^ ) Hey, Othergroup! * Sayuri , after having made random noises, and words, not the least of which consisting of "Whafuck?", stands and disconnects her computer, putting it in her backpack. Okay... there's a bar and grille in the main building that has a green monkey on the wall. Well, I hope that's the jade monkey, then. Shall we go? * Sayuri nods. "And pick up the others if we can." * Robert leads the way out of the office. * Sayuri follows (taking the backpack with her.) Across the way, you see Marguerite and Shiori catching their breath. There is a stage in hangar #2, with two costumed mecha on it. One of them sings a line, and then pauses; the other one seems to have forgotten his lines. ( ;.; ) ... (SEE WHAT YOU DID!?) I'm not going to ask. * Sayuri looks at the Mecha, and blinks. "Damn." * Marguerite straightens up and waves at Sayuri. The first mecha looks away, coughs, and kicks the other mecha lightly near the foot, which sould result in a loud 'clang' if not for the boots they're wearing; is it is, there's a loud 'thud'. The scond mecha stutters and starts up again. Sayuri found a lead on the jade monkey. * Sayuri shakes her head, "Anyway," and walks over to Margie. "Yah. A bar and grille in the main building has a green monkey on the walls." * Marguerite points to the farce inside. "I did nothing....oh, really? Rock." Meanwhile, the show goes on. * Marguerite glances back inside. "I always hated that show." So. *jabs a thumb at the main building* Walking time? Let's go. Damn right. * Shiori nods. Fan out a little, don't stay tightly bunched. Look, so far the only dangerous thing I've seen is a damn teddy bear, so I'm just going to relax a little. * Sayuri chuckles and mutters, "One grenade or flamethrower could take us all out!" The door to the main building is closed. Exactly the point. (BRB.) But we couldn't really defeat the bear... We don't want to get clusterfucked. (NO! DAMN YOU DOOR! ALWAYS GETTING IN OUR WAY! NO MORE! NO MORE DOORS!) ( I think that's a pause :P ) Back. ( what kind of door is it? ) Anywhoo, the door is closed, initially, but it opens by sliding to either side once you're within fifteen feet of it; it's apparently automatic. Inside is an inky blackness. Joy. I wonder what sadistic monstrosity Dejiko or Asa has conjured for us now. Perhaps a knitting extraterrestrial? Don't worry so much. do what you can, and the rest will take care of itself. (OOo, that's a good one. ::scribble:: Anyway. Someone got a flashlight, or we walkin' blind? ( Margie obviously wasn't watching the last session of TSoaC. ) I'm not worrying. It's called sarcastic commentary. (TSoaC?) ( Atom's game. Two Sides of a Coin. ) (Ah.) I'm afraid I don't have one... * Marguerite digs in her bag. * Marguerite produces a nice flashlight and shines it around the place. The inky blackness laughs at your attempt to illuminate it. Well, not really, but... Jesus, it's dark. * Marguerite takes a few steps in, looking for things. * Sayuri nods, and follows (nervously) behind Margie. Not closely, but following. Ah... We should probably stick close to the walls... (Do you walk *into* the inky blackness, or just closer to it?) (... is there a defined LINE? I suppose towards it.) (Well, yeah. On your side of the doorframe is light. On the other side is Inky Blackness.) (Huh. Into it, then.) (I mean, are you actually *expecting* this place to behave normally? ^_~) ( Wow. I've said more than Robert in the last few minutes O.o ) (shocking. ^_~) (Screw you and Dejiko's sense of humor as well. 8P) (And, do the rest of you follow her in? ^_^) ( Not immediately :P ) * Robert follows the insane woman into the inky blackness. Margie and Robert dissapear into the inky blackness. * Sayuri (IS following, just not very closely.) Sometime later, Sayuri and Shiori follow. :P * Shiori ... follows, apparently :P Okay. Everybody roll 2d6 for a mind check. ^_^ 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiori (2d6) and gets 5. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (2d6) and gets 9. ( Got it. ) (I hate you, Dicesuke.) ( Heh! So many people have said that. ) ( The feeling is mutual. ) (Fucking busted randomizer...) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (2d6) and gets 8. (o/~ Robert o/~) ( ... ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Robert (2d6) and gets 2. ( sorry, didn't see that it was everybody. ) ( o_O ) ( Well, there's my crit for today. ) ( And Rob gets a crit. Kinda funny, seeing as who Dicesuke belongs to... ^_^ ) ( ... ) ( You did _not_ just say that. ) ( I'm kidding :P ) Inside is a room comprised of geometry that might be described as "Lovecraftian." Long stairways and escalators twist around each other, merging with each other, consuming each other, and rising into a cieling that seems infinitely above you, and every single surface has minimalist art haning from it. In front of that, however, is a desk marked "Reception". A nice lady with no face is sitting at it, typing on a computer console. ... Needless to say, this is a bit much to take in all at once. ... * Robert stops thinking about it. * Marguerite grabs her temple. "Ow." * Shiori gazes around in awe. Okay, you guys can think about this, it's not my job to think. Margie and Sayuri are dumbfounded by the sight, and they both develop powerful headaches. * Sayuri boggles hard and rubs her forehead. "I think I hit my 'whack' quotient of the day." Yeah. That's some Motrin pain., Dammit, woman, you didn't see the teddy bear. Not gonna think about it. Nosireee. To the left of the reception desk are two doors. To the right is another door. Two faceless people in fancily decorated buisness suits walk out of the door on the right, conversing in a formless babble. Look, dammit. Someone go talk to the lady. I'm going to find an aspirin. * Shiori looks nervously at the others. ... * Sayuri walks 'forward'. "Screw this. Hello, lady, where's the bar?" * Marguerite dry swallows 4 ibuprofin. * Marguerite waks up next to Sayuri. * Shiori follows, and stands a short distance from the desk while Sayuri talks. The lady looks up. "Hello, and welcome to the Area Fifty-One resort and casino! ...oh, the bar? One moment, please." She types into the computer. "The light over the door to the casino will light up. The bar is just beyond there. Have a nice day!" Sweet jesus, we have to walk? * Sayuri nods. "Thank ya." * Marguerite looks a little green around the gills. The lights over the three doors begin blinking on and off in rapid succession. One one is on at a time, however. Only, even. ( Ooooh. Evil! ) ( ^_^ ) (^_^_v) * Sayuri grumbles at the door. "Dammit." ... * Marguerite grits her teeth and heads for the first door, hoping her stomach will hold. "I don't have time for this." * Robert picks a door and waits for the light to be on. Ah... If we open them simultaneously... * Sayuri picks the last door and waits for it. "Shouldn't we go through at the same time... yeah, exactly." Good thinkin'... *rubs head* If you say so, miss. Just tell me what to do. Eh? * Sayuri chuckles. "Maybe later, babe. Mad Dog, you with us here?" Yeah. Damn door. * Shiori blinks, then blushes furiously. C'mon, Shiori. You can tag along with me. Ah... Alright... Alright. Everyone trying to open a door roll 1d6. ^_^ d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Robert (d6) and gets 3. d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sayuri (d6) and gets 6. d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marguerite (d6) and gets 6. (That is so not right.) (Pure pseudorandom, baby. Yeah!) Sayuri opens the door, and on the other side is Marguerite, opening her door. ( HEh ) Roger opens his door, and on the other side is a beach with white sand and clear water. Jesus... no wait, Mad Dog. * Marguerite blinks. "Small world." ... Close and try again? That's not the casino. Sure. * Robert closes the door. * Marguerite closes the door. I think... * Sayuri closes her door too. ^^; ... we should have a countdown... Good idea. * Sayuri nods. "On 3?" One. * Shiori nods. Aight. Two. * Sayuri waits for it... Three. * Marguerite opens the door. * Robert pulls the door open. * Sayuri opens her door on the Three. Sayuri's door opens on a backstage area full of large mecha milling about and conversing. Robert's door opens onto a deck marked "LINE FOR BUNGEE JUMPING BEGINS HERE." It's about a mile into the air. ( Heh ) ... Marguerite's door opens onto the entrance of a casino. Some poor fellow within is bemoaning his fate at whatever game he had the misfortune to participate in. Heh. The McLochlane luck holds. * Marguerite raises her voice. "The casino's over here!" ... I didn't get the casino. Oh, you got it. * Sayuri says, "Quick! Before it changes its mind," and walks/drags Shiori over. * Robert leaves his door and walks to Margie's. * Shiori is dragged over. * Marguerite walks through, keeping the door open. * Robert follows through, if he can. Everyone makes it through. Wai! ( Wai! ) * Marguerite grabs the poor fool by the arm. "Where's the bar?" * Sayuri sighs and drops Shiori's hand and mutters, briefly, "Sorry." Ah... No... I's alright. Immediately inside is a muscular grey fellow about eight feet tall. "Welcome to the Area Fifty-One casino. Please enjoy your stay, and don't make any trouble." ( ...tired. ) (You, me, and Sayuri... both.) (retract last action, please. ^_^;;_ (Heh.) (Ditto that for us.) * Marguerite looks at the guy. "Bar. Where's the bar. I need a drink like a bird needs the Bernoulli effect." The huge guy chuckles. "Heheh. It's in the back, ma'am." He gestures with his thumb. Thanks. * Sayuri waves her hand at the grey guy and starts walking to the back. "I'm with Mar--Mad Dog on that one, really." * Marguerite strides thattaway. * Robert follows them. (Sayuri and Margie just wanna get out of here, it seems. ^^;) * Shiori follows at the end. (We have huge migraines. Maggie wants to get drunk and pass out.) ( Remember to pick a mission sooner next time ^_^ ) * Robert stops for a moment. * Robert turns back to the big grey guy. Mister Banner? Your hedaches are receeding, by the way; the casino isn't nearly as mind-boggling as the lobby. The huge man eyes Robert critically. "Sorry. Name's Fixit. Joe Fixit." (And thank god for that.) Ah. Sorry for the mixup. (Quite.) * Robert chases after the girls. (Which, of course, is the alias the Hulk used while working in Vegas during his grey stint. ) ( Yep, I figured. ) (I love how he says "No trouble" to the people carrying plasma rifles and SAWs. ) * Robert shakes his head as he walks away. (Good lord, the OCRs, they hurt me head, Laddy!) ( OCR? ObCultRef? ) (Stop channelling Kruller.) Anyway. You all make it to the door to the bar without being, er, smashed. The door, not surprisingly, is closed. It's a simple swining job, tho, so you shouldn't have to kick it down or anything. (I am sick of doors. I am walking through this one with no actual RP.) (fine, fine. ;P) * Sayuri chuckles, pushes through the door, and looks for the monkey. "You want to stay for the drinks, Marguerite, or just get out of here?" ( Should've been a window ^_- ) A holodrink is not going to get me as drunk as I need to be. Where's the chimp./ The bar is full of people, but they're all clustered around a television displaying a hockey match. The Jade Monkey is on the end of the bar nearest to you. (How far is the TV.) It's about five inches high, and green. The TV is about forty feet away. * Marguerite saunters near the bar and mentions for the bartender. (Er. motions.) ( Is it at the far end or near end? The monkey, that is. ) The bartender pays you no heed. He's cheering for his team in an ininteligible babble. * Marguerite grabs the damn monkey and sticks it in her bag, then. The monkey does not object to this treatment. * Robert cringes. (good for it.) * Marguerite strides out of the bar nonchalantly. * Robert follows Margie. * Robert prays. On the other side of the bar door is another door. This one is familiar; it's the entrance to the simulator room. * Marguerite dives for it. Dejiko is standing on the other side, wearing her shades. "Well done, cadets." * Robert dives after Margie. * Sayuri yawns as she follows Margie, and chuckles at her dive. "Mission complete, thank god." Damn. I didn't get to shoot anything. I hope that damn monkey has disappeared from my bag, because I'm going to bash it to bits. I wonder who put the Hulk in that one, though. Whoever it was sure had a twisted sense of humor. Dejiko chuckles. "It can't exist outside of the simulator." Dejiko almost smiles. Almost, but doesn't. Probably whoever thought that cheery cartoon phone was amusing. Or the dancing mecha. ( And Mickey Mouse was perfectly normal? :P ) hey, Mickey Mouse is pure American goodness. Oh, so that's what that thing was called? * Sayuri shrugs. "Musta been before my time." o_O You've... never heard of Mickey Mouse? ( Feh. Disney's probably taken over South America by now :P ) * Marguerite sits up. "That was bloody wonderful." I'll have to introduce you to KITT. He's got a big archive of ancient television programs. "Anyway," says Dejiko, "It's almost lunchtime, so you may as well report to the kitchen, or you can go eat out. But be back here at two hours past noon for another session. Dismissed," she says, as she turns and walks off. * Robert salutes and goes to pack down an MRE. * Sayuri throws her hands up. "Wonderful. Wanna eats, Mad Dog?" Definitely. [END SESSION.]
