[ We pick up where we left off, with Some of Our Heroes sitting in the colossal library under Black Peak. They prolly need to figure out what to do next! ] [ Session Start! ] * Ethan eyes the library. "... this place has gotta have books on everything..." Nearly everything, yes. Oh, I hope so... * Ada grins. "I imagine you'll be busy while you're here, Sei." (Yeah. There are so many women in--oh, books!) (*laughs* Well, there are a lot of women.) * Sei smiles happily. "Yes indeed." ... wonder if this place has anything on Pantryfiller? I wouldn't be surprised. Hmm. Finding out about this thing's history would be nice... maybe find out if it has any surprises in store for me. * Ada nods and closes her eyes. "Oh, Sei. I have something I'd like to test, with your help." Ah, certainly. * Ada opens her eyes. "There's a book on Pantryfiller. One on each of the Weapons, actually." * Sei blinks. "Interesting..." ... any idea where? Not surprising, really. * Ada gestures. "Third level, west wing." Ah, you've read them before? ... I'll be right back. * Ethan scoots. *VOOM* * Sei grabs his bag and follows Ethan... * Ada grabs Ethan by the arm as he runs. "Where are you going?" Ack! * Ethan rubs the back of his head. "Er, to the book?" Fine. If you'll slow down for a minute, I can get you there faster. ( And now the important question; Is Ethan Literate? ) Ah. Okie. Yes ma'am! *salutes* (Haw. ^_^) (In the human language, I'd assume. Unless that required a level of linguistics and nobody told me. =P) * Ada looks over at Sei with mild amusement. "You want to go there too, right?" * Sei nods. ( It was assumed he could read, write, and speak his home language, and speak Elnohfec. Nothing about reading and writing in Elnohfec. ;P ) If the books on the Great Weapons are all together, I can get a lot of information very, very quickly. ... would I be correct in assuming none of these books are written in the Urikian dialect or anything similar? * Ada snickers. "I doubt it." She makes a short gesture. You're all suddenly in another part of the Library. ...impressive. ... funky. * Ada glances around, then points to a long row of thick books. "There." * Ethan chuckles nervously. "Then I think I'm gonna need your help with this, Sei." It helps. You have no idea how large this castle is. Considering the aura of power and confidence your Lady radiates, I'd be willing to believe it's however damn big she says it is. ( Hee. ^_^ ) Ooh... (Sei snuggles up to the shelf. "Hey there...what are you beauties doing in a private collection like this?") ( ... please refrain from drooling on my carpet.) ( The books give no indication of loving Sei back, but he knows that they do all the same. ) * Sei takes a book out of his bag and touches it to the spine of each tome. (Sei + Napster = DANGER.) * Ada watches with interest. "What are you doing?" Well, I might as well tell you...this is an enchanted tome that will copy and keep other books. ("Sore wa...himitsu desu.") I've gotten good at finding information in it quickly...it's easier than looking through each book, once you know how to read this one. * Ada blinks, then peers at it. "Really? How did you come by it?" ... so it's like having a room full of scribes trapped in a little bag, subsisting on only the meager scraps you deign to give them while toiling hour after hour under your iron fist? *grin* I bought it some time ago, from your typical mysterious seller of enchanted tomes and potions and other items of interest. * Sei smiles. "More or less. It's more accurate, though." * Ada snickers. "Sei with an iron fist." * Sei blinks as he recalls something. "I bought it from a Serioli, actually, if I remember correctly." For some reason, I'm not surprised. Perhaps you should have been born a Serioli, Sei. * Sei smiles. "That's a nice thought..." Do Serioli get to have goatees? 'cause then it'd be even better for ya. ( Nah. Then I woulda' looked all funny. ) Okay...Pantryfiller, right? Yup. Unless its true name is Mr. Slicey, like I've been saying all along. * Sei flips through his book. * Ada looks through the books and selects the one about Godslayer. She opens it and starts skimming. "Most of this is in Serioli." (It's been so much easier, ever since Google made their Elnohfec translation. ^_^) * Ethan holds out his glaive in front of him. "C'mon, you like the name 'Mr. Slicey', doncha?" *big grin* Your weapon can think, you know. It might decide to slice you. ... Pantryfiller it is, then. ( Indeed, the books are mostly Serioli. The author - one Paarfi of Roundwood - translated as much as he could. This task was complicated by the fact that most of what is known about the Great Weapons seems to be in the form of riddles. ) (I know Serioli-Fu. ^_^) (Ooh, convenient.) ( Haw! ) * Ethan patpats his glaive. "Good Great Weapon. No disagreement on naming here. No need to chop me into itty bitty bite-sized morsals of goateed goodness." ... * Sei reads. "Oh, my." ... now that there is either really good, or my arms are gonna fall off next week. * Sei leans over to Ada. "Does this character look like 'week' to you, or not?" * Ada takes a look. ... meep. * Ada blinks. "I can't say I know much about Serioli, but it looks like 'minute'. I'm not good for translation, though." She pauses, then frowns. "Why?" Oh, dear. I'd better get a healing spell ready, then. What? Poor Ethan. * Ada eyes Sei, then goes back to skimming the book about Godslayer. ... don't worry Ada! Despite the fact that my arms may be about to fall off, I'll protect you from the ridiculously powerful magess and her legions of death and stuff by... er... using the SHIN KICK OF DESTRUCTION! Or I could probably learn to swing my glaive with my teeth... hey, that has potential... So, about Pantryfiller...if this interpretation is correct, it was originally a magical staff, created to help a Serioli tribe survive through a famine. It turned out that the famine was the work of a demon, and the staff was given a blade, and became a Morganti glaive, with which they slew said demon. * Ethan strokes his goatee, chuckling disturbingly. That makes it fairly unique. It also says that it is never complete - one can always add to it. I'm not sure what that means, exactly. * Ada glances up. "Maybe a salad shredder." Never complete... so, like, I could add a spatula or something? You could be very useful for farming, too. * Sei considers. "It's worth a try." ("Hey, Xivilai! Have any Morganti cookware laying around?" "...") (She probably does.) (... Morganti spork.) (Shame none of y'all took any Morganti metal.) ("Of course. Beef tastes best once you suck out the cow's soul." "...") ("...my spoon. It's talking to me.") ( "...well, it does! Here, taste!" "Mmmmm. Sacrilegious!" ) And the glaive would get more powerful as more pieces were added... maybe even letting me create those giant foods! Hrm. Most of this is in Serioli, but from what I can tell... it looks like, when the Gods tried to destroy Godslayer, it was broken into two pieces. And there will be three when it's reassembled? That makes no sense. That'd be cool! I could smite Faydra with turkey leg the size of a small town! * Ada eyes Ethan. "Sure." Hmm. * Ethan powerposes. "Fear the wrath of PRODUCE, evil!" ... sorry. Got a bit carried away. *chuckles nervously* * Ada sighs and puts the book on the shelf. "I may have to ask you to provide a better translation later, Sei, if you can manage it." Ah, certainly. That sounds like a typical Serioli riddle, though. Maybe the weapon itself is three separate weapons? * Ethan scratches his head. "Riddles were never my forte... big surprise there, right?" Taken literally, that would mean I have one piece left. * Sei looks up Deathsbane in his book. (Deathsbane! I'm insulted. ;_;) Did it mention how Pantryfiller ended up in the human lands, Sei? Not as far as I can tell, no. * Ethan hmms. "Seems odd... not like it would be easy for humans to come by a Great Weapon." * Sei blinks at his book. "Interesting." * Ada looks over at Sei. "Hmm?" Unless its previous wielder died during the wars... The healing blade on this weapon was added to be disruptive to the undead armies of someone called the Necromancer. A Morganti blade was needed to kill the Necromancer itself. (It slices! It dices! It even makes julienne fries!) That makes sense, I guess. A healing item you have to whack people with seemed like an odd choice. Its original name is "Truedeath", since it was meant to kill the undead. There's also a story in here about a Serioli who fought another with the blade, and kept using the wrong edge. * Ada snickers. "That had to have been amusing." Maybe you can just touch the healing edge to someone for it to take effect, instead of actually whacking them with it. * Ethan strokes his goatee. "Though there was a guy who passed through my town once who claimed he could cure wounds by whacking you upside the head with a stick... odd guy, that." * Sei finishes reading. "The opponent was so grateful to have his old injuries cured that he forgave the wielder and called the duel off." * Ada laughs. * Ethan chuckles. "A happy ending." * Sei smiles. "I like this one." * Ethan levels a serious gaze at Sei. "Sei, my friend, normally I kind of like to avoid getting whacked with large sharp pieces of metal... but I give you permission to whack me with that one as you deem necessary." *loopy grin* * Sei grins. "Understood." Just make sure you use the right edge. Yes, that would be...unfortunate. ... yes, please. I like my soul where it is. * Ethan clears his throat. "Hey, guys... when Faydra said 'forces'... what kind of forces are we talking about here?" An army. Or more. * Sei nods. I know, I know... but are they all gonna be able to use magic? Unlikely. * Ethan phews. "That's a relief. So there'll be some guys just trying to kill me the old fashioned way, then." Should I be expecting anything besides elves? Monsters, undead, large angry sentient furniture... * Ada smiles faintly. "Despite the impression that you've probably gotten, most elves don't know much beyond spells that make life a bit more convenient." You probably don't need to worry much about the average footsoldier, magic-wise. He'll be trying to stick the pointy end of his weapon into you instead. * Ethan grins. "But I'll be with you, and you'll most likely be with your Lady when it gets ugly. Which means we prolly won't be seeing the average footsoldiers, ne?" (Nah. You'll just get the Nebbys of the world. Hopefully there aren't many. @_@) * Ada snickers. "Probably not, no." Well then, remind me to ask your Lady if she expects anything besides warriors and mages. If I'm gonna be fighting a giant fire-breathing lizard- squirrel hybrid, I'd like to be prepared. ^_^ Of course. Actually, that we're going to be dealing with magic is the reason I need to test something with Sei. Ah...? ( "Aie! Squirrelzilla attacks!" ) * Ada grins at Sei. "If we're finished here, would you mind going to the training grounds?" ...may I ask what exactly you're planning on? You'll see. It won't hurt, I promise. * Ada considers, then smiles sweetly. "Unless something goes wrong." Oh, my. Off I go, then... ... Ada's smiling sweetly. We're screwed, Sei. * Ada rolls her eyes. "Care to join us, Ethan?" * Ethan grins. "Sure thing, m'lady." ^_^ * Sei nods. "If Ada kills me, please avenge me by singing as loudly as possible." ( *cracks up* ) * Ethan nods solumnly. "Your death will not go unavenged, brave Sei." ... unless Ada smiles at me like she just did at you. Then I might have to run away screaming. * Ada cringes. "Anything but that." She makes a gesture, and they're gone. You're now in a big sparring room! It has several rings of all sorts of shapes and sizes, racks of training weapons on the walls, and all sorts of other things that make the purpose of this place quite plain. It is, of course, hewn of the same black stone as the library, and has the same sourceless lighting. ... just like home. * Ada folds her hands behind her head as she walks into one of the rings. "We can have an actual sparring session if you like, Sei, but my primary reason for this is testing a spell." * Sei smiles. "I'm not very good at attack magic, so..." You don't need to attack, though if you like, I can try to help you with that. * Ada waves for Sei to join her in the ring. "Cast your shielding spell. What's it called? Air Valm?" * Ethan takes a seat outside the ring, his glaive leaning on one shoulder. * Sei nods, slips his ring onto his finger, and casts the spell. * Ada tilts her head. "A ring?" * Sei holds up his hand. "Yes...it's not necessary for this spell, but is for some of my spells." Mmm. Just don't rely on it. * Sei nods. ("But I mustest rely on it! It is... precioussssss to me...") ( This is not The One Ring. It is A Ring. ) * Ada nods. "Right. Now." She walks a bit away, then turns to face Sei, pressing her hands together. She whispers a few words, then pulls them apart, angry, crackling black energy forming between them. ( "0n3 r!ng t0 0wn20r th3m 4ll..." ) * Sei blinks. "Interesting..." * Ada takes a deep breath and flings the energy at Sei. "Void Spike!" (...quack?) (A Void Attack? Heh.) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-4) and gets 2. (Oh, this is going to sting. ;_;) (Roll Mysticism, Sei.) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sei (2d6-2) and gets 8. (Aiyah.) (Yup. This is going to sting.) Ada's bolt O energy slams into Sei's shield. The energy of the bolt crackles across the shield, which dissipates immediately. * Ada looks at Sei critically. "You're not hurt, are you?" Wow! That was quite something. No, I don't think so. * Ada smiles. "Good. It worked like it was supposed to, then." ... spell that negates force fields. Iiiiinteresting... *strokes goatee thoughtfully* * Ada looks over at Ethan and nods, then says casually, "I'll take down the field, you hack them to bits. Deal?" * Ethan stands and salutes crisply. "Now you're talking my language, Ada." ^_^ * Ada laughs. "So long as you can understand it." And maybe we can have Sei flirt with Faydra, distract her while you take down her force field or somethin'. I need to work on my defense magic some more... * Ada snickers. "Well, hopefully there's time to prepare." And, hopefully, you won't even be in the thick of things, Sei. * Sei nods. Yeah, it's a like a real army. Ada's the long-distance fire support, I do the close range hitting stuff, and you keep us standing long enough to do our jobs. And then celebrate with all the happy elven lasses in the castle. *smirk* * Sei smiles. ( *pimpmusic* ) If we end up in the midst of a battle, you can both probably hold your own...and no one attacks battlefield healers, unless they want their own medics to ignore them. * Ethan nods. "Even war has some rules." * Ada shakes her head and stretches. "But, yes. I'd offer to teach you magic, Ethan, but I don't think we have enough time." * Ethan grins. "Then we have a plan. I keep any of the bastards from getting near Ada or you, Ada takes them out before they get to me, and you keep the Reaper from getting near us. And Xivilai rains down firey splodey death or something." (God, you guys are so gifted in having Xiv to actually do tactics for you.) (^_~) ... well, actually Xivilai does whatever she wants to, as mentioned before. * * Ethan chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck. "Not gonna try telling the ridiculously powerful magess what to do in a fight. No sirree. I'm not *that* crazy..." (Like hell you aren't.) * Ethan hrms. "I wonder, though..." * Ada raises an eyebrow. "Wonder what?" Well, I have a magic glaive, I'm fighting for a powerfull magess against another powerfull magess... I was wondering if your Lady might have some human- sized magical armor laying around somewhere. * Sei groans. "That stuff is rarely anything but trouble." * Ethan pats his studded leather armor. "This stuff has served me well, but I get the distinct feeling I might be needing something a bit sturdier soon." * Ada studies the armor. "If there isn't, we might be able to get this enchanted." (Good thing it's not majorly metal. *cough*) I'll ask her about it. (Noooo kidding.) ( Awww, my armor's hugging m-GURK. ) (So that's the problem with metal armor? I thought it was just lightning. =P) (That too. ^^ And heat.) ( Lightning, heat, magnetic manipulation... o/~ ) I'd consider plate armor, if not for the a sneaking suspicion that the legends about why such armor fell out of use are true... * Ada waves her hand, and lightning dances across her fingertips. She grins. "What gives you that idea?" * Ethan gulps. "Yeah. Metal armor BAD." That and, because it's bad, plate armor isn't made as a general rule. s'too bad. My area produces some damn fine metal armor... lightweight but strong as hell. * Ada chuckles. "And how would we get armor from Urik anyway?" Just sayin'. If not for the legends, I prolly would've brought a suit with me when I left. *grin* Legends? About horrible, horrible things happening to human warriors who tried to fight the elves wearing metal armor. Ah, that would be it. * Ada nods. "Every few thousand years or so the Empire tries to invade the Eastern Kingdoms." And from what I've seen of the Empire, we've survived mostly on luck and sheer stubbornness. (Hey, some of you know how to do the job. ^_~) * Ada smiles faintly. "Maybe. Waging war over the mountains would be expensive." *nods* That too. Those mountain passes are fortified to a ridiculous extent, too. * Ada shakes her head. That afraid of the elves, huh? They have magic, we don't. Even if we can even the field fighter for fighter, that gives a huge advantage. I wonder what would happen if that were to change... A well-fortified pass, with archers, catapaults, boiling oil... a normal army can't do squat against that. When you can lob fireballs and cause earthquakes, though... * Ada considers. "You could easily field a fighter for fighter. Very easily. And-" She looks over at Sei. "It wouldn't take long, at least to elves, for humans to learn magic." If humans were to learn magic on a large scale, the effects would be...incredible. A whole army of Adas! Dangerous. I think that the problem, then, would be keeping the Eastern Kingdoms from invading Elnofey. Yes. I'd suggest that we investigate further, but keeping the humans from doing a lot of unnecessary damage would be difficult. ... point. Several thousand years of payback and such. On the other hand, it would make a very strong alliance... Not necessarily. Magic is just another tool. * Ethan shrugs. "First things first, Sei. We can worry about the fate of the Eastern Kingdoms as it relates to magic *after* we figure out a way to keep ourselves from getting poked with sharp pieces of metal." If the Eastern Kingdoms were to learn? Sure, they'd ban together and overrun both the Empire and the Dominion. Probably kill and enslave all the elves, possibly do the same to the humans here. * Sei nods... * Ada shrugs. "And then they'd go back to fighting each other. If Ethan's land is any indication, they don't know much else." Knowing magic would just change the warfare. * Sei sighs. "Good points. Politics is not my strength..." My pops with magic... gods that's a terrifying thought. * Ethan grins. "Heck, me with magic is borderline terrifying." * Ada chuckles. "Yes, well. It takes some amount of talent to learn." I could try to teach you, Ethan. ( Try being the operative word. ;P ) ... tempting, but nah. A good army depends on people knowing and excelling at their specific roles. I'm the guy what hits people with his big pointy stick. No need to try to be anything else. * Ada shrugs. "If you like. Nebrinel would argue with you about flexibility, though." (Flexibililty is what it's all about, Hon.) (Yes. Yes, it is.) (Damn straight.) * Ethan grins. "Flexibility comes at a cost of skill. I'm a better fighter than she is, and because of all the time she spent working on her sword technique, her magics aren't dominating enough to just put me out. It'd be a damn tough fight, but..." *grin* (Bendy good.) * Ada walks over to a weapon rack and peers at the selection. "But she's a girl. You have to do something about that." ... yeah, there is that. * Ethan rubs the back of his neck. "Hopefully it won't come to that. If it does... well..." * Ada turns to regard Ethan. "Pity, too. I wouldn't mind you training me, but it would be difficult with your problem." Hmmm. Oh, training I can do. In training, I'd naturally be holding myself back. My... problem makes me hold back in a real fight, which needless to say is a bad thing. * Ada raises an eyebrow. "So you couldn't spar against Nebrinel because...?" Would you want to hold back against someone using a sword called Plaguebringer? (She SAID she'd use practice swords!) (Geez. Wimp.) She'd use Plaguebringer against you? That's news to me. * Ethan shrugs. "Frankly, I didn't trust her. I got the sense she was the kind of person that wouldn't take losing well. If I beat her in a 'friendly spar', my suspicion is she'd be itching for a rematch. A full-on rematch." * Ada grins. "I wouldn't be surprised." You, on the other hand, I trust. You don't fancy yourself a swordfighter. You're a mage who can swordfight. Losing to me in a practice match wouldn't be a blow to your ego. * Ada snickers. "Not as such, no." Exactly my point. Swords aren't my specialty, but I could prolly show you a few tricks. Especially in terms of not getting hit. That's the idea. * Ethan grins. "Though if I'm doing my job, nobody should get close enough to you to try anything." * Ada chuckles. "One can hope. I doubt we'll be so lucky." Exactly why we'd train. You interested, Sei? Hmm, definitely. I need to learn to use Deathsbane. * Ethan hrms. "Well, I doubt either of you would want me using my glaive in training you to dodge, so..." *grin* Indeed not. * Ethan shrugs. "There's gotta be a padded staff around here I could use... would work just like a polearm, without the slicing and dismemberment and such." * Ada points at the weapons rack. "Check that." I have this quarterstaff, but it's not padded. * Ethan checks the weapons rack! The weapons rack has trainging weapons. Y'know, the non-lethal kind. ;P Generally, there's all kinds of weapons. And I really mean 'all' when I say it here. (Ooh! A Klatchian Fire Engine!) (Hee. ^_^) * Ethan finds a glaive with a padded staff and a plush 'blade'. "... this'll do nicely." * Ada eyes the glaive. "So we'll find rooms for you after we finish this?" (The last time I saw one of those in action I had to find a broom and dustpan before I could cast Heal. ^_^_v) Sure thing. *pokes himself with the plush blade experimentally a couple of times* * Ada goes to the rack and selects a wooden rapier. "Very well." ("I'll take 'The Raper' for 300, Alex!" "... that's 'The Rapier', Mr. Connery.") * Sei takes another plush blade and stands aside to watch. * Ethan moves into one of the rings, and falls into an loose ready stance. "You wanna work on offense, defense, or both?" ( So... you're gonna thwap each other with plushies? ) (I'm a master at that.) ( Indeed. ) * Ada heads for that same ring and grins. "More defense, but both, I suppose. I can give you a crash course in avoiding magic." Her eyes twinkle. ... unless you can throw plush fireballs, I'll pass. (With Ard around, NO plushie is safe to spar with. @_@) (*thwaps Yu with plushie*) * Ada laughs. "Sei or I can heal you." She calms some. "Besides, I can tone down the effectiveness of my spells." * Sei nods. Hmm... okay, maybe later. ( *Takes 1d12 plush-type damage* ;_; ) * Ethan raises his glaive, a mischevious gleam in his eyes. "Ladies first." * Ada raises an eyebrow at the gleam, then smiles. "Have it your way." (Lay him out! Nebby's cheering for ya!) * Ada moves forward, trusting her weapon experimentally at Ethan. (Maybe I'll sneak attack him with a Fissure. Wouldn't that be fun. Ethan falls through the floor!) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-2) and gets 9. (Not with that roll. ^^;) (*snerk* That's a miss.) (Nah, I'd get him if it were magic. ;P) (You get more minuses with magic, girly.) * Ethan sidesteps easily and slips past Ada, swinging the plush 'blade' as he passes to whack Ada in the tuchas. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-3) and gets 0. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-3) and gets 3. First rule: Never attack tentatively. Nice dodge. * Ada frowns. "I see." She circles, bringing her rapier to 'slash' at Ethan's side. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-2) and gets 3. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-2) and gets 6. * Ethan oofs as the hit connects. "Better! Slipped that one under my guard!" * Ethan spins and tries to poke Ada in the stomach with the plush blade. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-3) and gets 5. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-3) and gets 5. * Ada pulls her rapier around to deflect the glaive as she sidesteps the rest of the way. She's still frowning a bit as she snaps it towards his chest. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-2) and gets 2. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-2) and gets 3. * Ethan slips aside as the rapier slices by. "C'mon, Ada, relax! Don't look so down... you gotta be relaxed when you're fighting. Just let it flow." (o/~ Got the got the funky flow o/~) * Ethan hooks Ada's legs with the end of his glaive and tries to sweep her off her feet. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-3) and gets 1. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-3) and gets 5. * Ada manages to stay on her feet. "You say that like I know how to relax." She slashes at Ethan's arm. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-2) and gets 5. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-2) and gets 10, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "Hey, a failure. Oh, by the way... I heard what you've been saying about me." * Ethan gets whacked flush on the arm. "Nice shot! I felt that one... you got potential, kiddo! Stick with me and I'll make you a star!" *loopy grin* * Ada snickers. "With your business savvy and my stunning looks, we'll go far," she deadpans. * Ethan backs off, and attemts the world-renouned "Tickle Your Opponents Neck with the Plush Blade" maneuver. "That's the spirit!" 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-3) and gets 3. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-3) and gets 0. (Aww! ;_;) * Ada doesn't fall for it, managing to circle to Ethan's side and jabbing her rapier towards him. "No cheating, now," she calls. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-2) and gets 4. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-2) and gets 6. * Ethan gets jabbed again. "Nice riposte. And all's fair and such." *grin* * Ada smiles wickedly. "All's fair?" * Ethan stands his ground, and tries to bonk Ada on top of the head with the plush blade. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-3) and gets 0. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-3) and gets 5. (Dang, Dicey likes you tonight. =P) (Does he ever. ^_^_v) * Ada darts in, avoiding the glaive. She brings her free hand up towards Ethan's face. It's glowing. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6-4) and gets 5. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6-2) and gets 9. * Ada doesn't hit Ethan in the face! Instead, her spell goes off, filling the room with a brilliant flash of light. (Which does?) (Nothing. ^_^) * Ada grins as the light clears. "Boom." * Ethan blinkblinks, and grins evilly. "So that's the way it's gonna be, eh?" *tries to tackle Ada* 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6) and gets 12, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "I hope you invested in some good armor." (*facepalms* Not my night.) ( ...this should be amusing. ^^ ) * Ethan realizes too late that he was a bit blinded by the light burst as he dives right through the fourth of six Ada's in front of him and lands flat on his stomach. Oops. * Ada walks over to Ethan and taps him lightly on the back of the head. "All's fair, huh?" ... all's fair. And apparently, I've still got some work to do, 'cause I felt myself hesitating even in that sparring match. * Ada laughs. "Yes." * Ethan gets to one knee and stands... then lunges foward, grabs Ada, and hefts her over his shoulder. "Luckilly, I can regain my honor with the forbidden Swordbreaker technique... AIRPLANE SPIN!" *spinspinspin* * Ada yelps, then flails. "Hey!" The Turnips of Justice say SPIN! ... The turnips of justice are lying! Put me down! * Ethan puts Ada down, and smiles broadly. "The most important lesson of all: War is hell. Life shouldn't be. Make life fun, and war doesn't seem so bad." * Ada stands dizzily, and comments, "Make life fun, huh?" * Sei nods. Yup. Second most important is 'Never Get Involved in a Land War in Urik'. * Ada grabs Ethan's arm in an effort to stay balanced. "Fun, hrm." Yeah. I'm bummed that I'm not making great progress with my mental block. But getting down won't help any. If I'm relaxed, I stand a better chance of making progress. * Sei nods. So buck up. Nothin' to worry about with Sei and Ethan watchin' yer back. Plus Xivilai. She ain't too shabby either. *grin* ( Heh. Heheheh. e_z ) * Ada considers a bit longer, and without warning pulls Ethan down to kiss him on the lips. She holds him that way for a while, then lets go, with a mischievous grin. "There. That was fun." (*spittakes*) (Paying attention *now*, Yu? :P) * Sei grins. "Ah! You're getting the idea." * Ethan thuds to the ground. "... quick learner, aincha?" *goofy grin* * Ada laughs at Ethan's reaction. "Always have been." She turns and starts out of the training room, singsonging, "I win o/~" * Ethan watches Ada leave, and turns to Sei with the aforementioned goofy grin. "One helluva gal, ain't she?" * Sei nods, smiling. ( Mind rolls, guys. ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sei (2d6) and gets 5. ( Just the guys. ) (Yup.) (Ha!) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ethan (2d6) and gets 11. (Ethan's brain can't answer the phone right now...) (I'm sorry. Ethan's brain is away from the phone right now. If you'd like to leave a message, please talk to Sei, since he made his Mind roll.) [ Ethan is distracted by the plush glaivyness of the plush glaive. Sei, on the other hand, remembers that this is probably a huge place, and that it would be surpassingly stupid to allow himself to be left behind by the only one of their group who knows how to get around here. ^_^ ] * Sei taps Ethan on the shoulder, and starts walking after Ada. "C'mon, we'd better go." ( Atta' boy. ^_^ ) * Sei puts his plush blade onto a shelf on the way out. * Ethan blinkblinks. "Yeah, walking. Walking's good." *puts the glaive back, follows Sei* [ Session ended, yo. z.z ]
