So, it's a beautiful morning of a beautiful day! The sun is out, the sky is bright, and there is a pleasantly cool and somewhat sweet-smelling breeze passing along through the town of Menevia. Of course, you may or may not not know this, depending on whether you've gotten up and been outside yet. It is four hours before noon. I'll leave the matter of wheather you're up or not, or what part of the town or the inn you're in, up to you guys. ^_^ [SESSION START] * Sei yawns. * Ada irritably goes about her morning business. * Ethan is already outside whereever it is where staying, nearby in some open space going through katas and such. * Fyril sits at a table set up outside the inn, eating a leisurely breakfast happily. * Sei is consuming some breakfast and [coffee] as well. * Nebrinel is leaning back, against a wall, eating some of Fyril's breakfast foods while watching Ethan and his katas. * Fyril looks over at Nebrinel. "You know, you could always get your own. Not that I mind, but you are eating a lot of it." * Ada finishes and heads downstairs, where she orders breakfast. * Ethan pauses, puts down his glaive, and starts going through some katas with his flanged mace. Said katas, while still pretty impressive looking, are nowhere near as complicated as the glaive ones. * Nebrinel looks over at Fyril, and pops the rest of the muffin she was eating in her mouth. "Mmm. Perhaps you are right." She eyes Ethan. "Maybe a bit later." * Sei twitches. "More...coffee..." (The nearest spot open enough for Katas is a park or sorts outside the inn. A town guard noticed Ethan some time ago, and had decided to keep a watch on him.) * Ada steps outside with her food and has a seat near Sei. "Morning." Good morn...aargh...ing. Sei is brought more coffee by one of the inn's waitresses. Thanks. * Sei consumes it rapidly. Something wrong? * Sei smiles. "A lack of coffee, which has now been remedied." * Ada eyes Sei, then shrugs and munches on a piece of toast. * Fyril eats a bit more, looking up and down the streets interestedly. * Ethan pauses again, looks down at his pack, picks up his glaive, and tries to go through some katas using both. Now, the katas are FAR slower and more tentative. The streets are fairly empty this early, although a nearby market or sorts has already opened. * Nebrinel chuckles at Ethan softly. * Ethan stops, scowls, and puts both weapons back in the holsters before joining the group at the table. "Don't know why I even bother practicing that. Glaive wasn't meant to be a one-handed weapon." * Ada stifles a yawn as she turns her attention to Ethan. It can be, but you just don't have the full range of maneuvers with just one hand... plus the weight of the mace throws you off balance while you're trying to coordinate spinning the glaive, and I'm boring the hell outta all of you, aren't I? ^_^ * Fyril flags down a waitress, and orders a half portion of the breakfast, not really paying attention to Ethan. "What? Boring?" * Ada chuckles. "Not really." She grabs another piece of toast. "And I guess it doesn't hurt." * Ethan starts working on a loaf of bread. "Suppose. I do it more outta habit than anything." * Nebrinel chuckles from where she stands, and forms two blades of simple electricity from her hands. "Using disparate weapons do change things, yes." She walks into the open area in the middle of the park. The same waitress that brought more coffee to Sei earlier comes back out, asking if there's anything that any of you need. Habits are hard to break, yes. Though it could come in handy if one arm ever gets injured in a fight, or I have to hold onto something while using my glaive... That they are. Why do you think I've been at this for the last hour? *grin* * Sei considers, and smiles at the waitress. "Not at the moment, thanks." * Fyril looks curiously from Sei to the waitress and back. * Ada looks from the waitress to Sei and snickers. * Nebrinel huhms, and shrugs, bringing one of her blades up to kiss it, and extends her blades to her sides slowly. The waitress sighs quietly and walks back inside. * Ethan eyes the waitress, eyes Sei, eyes the waitress again, and grins slightly. * Sei smiles. * Ada shakes her head and turns to watch Nebrinel. * Fyril drinks some juice slowly, and watches Nebrinel intently. * Nebrinel jabs one of the swords forward. Then blocks with the second. Weaves with the first. Spins, attacks, weaves, moving from action to action simply, smoothly, her grey cape spinning with her. * Fyril puts the drink down, and starts watching very intently. * Ada watches closely. "She's good." *narrows eyes* ... I recognize the style, I think. Hmm? * Fyril keeps watching closely, but perks his ears. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ada (2d6) and gets 11. * Nebrinel laughs loudly, and switches suddenly, into an attacking dance, with the swords whooshing in front of her. A grin can be seen on her face. Troupe of performers came through town way back when. Did a strange kinda dance that emulated a swordfight... same kinda moves, same emphasis on smooth graceful movements... * Ada narrows her eyes. "She certainly enjoys herself." s'not a bad style, as long as the practitioner remembers that grace is secondary to not getting stabbed in the head. * Ada nods. * Nebrinel stops, and extends her swords to a more Elven length. She then begins again, doing almost nothing but twisting and whirling with her body, moving her swords. 2d6-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Fyril (2d6-6) and gets -3. (Holycrap. What a -. @_@) * Fyril lets his eyes drift a bit towards the door, but keeps most of his attention on Nebrinel. ( Fyril is handy at spotting things, it'd seem. c.c ) (I'm observant! ^^) ... ah, the ol' whirling dervish. Love that one. ^_^ * Fyril points a thumb towards the door, his hand slightly above the table, without looking away from Nebrinel. "Sei? Think that might be for you." * Sei blinks and looks over. *** Atom has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer ) There are two women standing in the doorway; one of them is the waitress who's been serving your table. She blushes a bright red when Sei looks in her direction and tries to run back inside, but is prevented from doing so by the other lady (another waitress). * Sei stands up and bows. "May I help you?" * Nebrinel stops, and closes her eyes briefly, letting her two swords merge into what could only be described as a luminous cloth. She then starts what is obviously a slow dance, using the cloth in it as one would in dancing. She's not smiling anymore. * Ada glances at Sei and the women, then goes back to watching Nebrinel. * Ethan raises an eyebrow at Sei, turns, then raises the other at Nebrinel. * Fyril divides his attention between Sei and Nebrinel. Waitress #1 freezes in place as Sei speaks. The other waitress says "Yes, yes you can! G'wan, ask 'im, Teldra." * Nebrinel forms two swords as she does her dance, letting the cloth dissipate. The same slow dance, although with very obvious attack-counterattack pattern. * Fyril perks his ears towards the other conversation, but his eyes are just watching Nebrinel. The lady whose name is apparently 'Teldra' inspects the ground and slowly shuffles towards Sei. Her build is what passes as mousy for an elf, although she is still attractive. "Uhm, er, I... ah, h'lo, my name is Teldra. I... er, that is, would you..." * Ada blinks and starts paying more attention to the conversation. * Nebrinel stops, and lets the swords dissipate, bowing to an unseen opponent. She then stands there, chuckling to herself. * Sei rubs the back of his head, and emits a welcoming "Hmm?" Teldra blushes some more. "Er, that is, are you maybe... uh, free tonight?" * Ethan strokes his goatee thoughtfully, and turns back towards Sei. * Sei smiles. "Ah, certainly." * Fyril resists the temptation to applaud, instead grinning widely at Nebrinel, and keeps listening. * Ethan chuckles, tossing an apple up and down. Teldra's eyes go wide. "R-really? Then.. then how's dinner sound?" * Ada looks over at Sei and grins. * Sei bows. "It would be my pleasure to accompany you." * Fyril turns a bit to look at the budding romance. (o/~ Here we go again o/~) "That's great!" the girl gushes. "Meet you here at, uh, eight?" * Ethan whistles softly, and mutterwhispers. "Smooth, ain't he?" * Nebrinel finishes chuckling, and walks back over to the tables, sitting down. She notes all the people paying attention to Sei n'the girl, and shakes her head. * Ada nods slightly. * Sei smiles and bows once again. "As you wish. I'll be sure to be here." * Fyril rests a hand on Nebrinel's leg, and whispers excitedly, "That was great! I had no idea you could do that!" The girl beams, and then shouts "T-thank you!" before dashing back inside. * Sei smiles. * Nebrinel waves a hand dismissively. "It's not like I advertise. Lami and Zarias would be ashamed, though." * Fyril looks from the girl to Nebrinel, wrinkles his brow slightly, and whispers, "Why?" * Ada turns to Sei. "So you have a date tonight?" * Sei smiles. "Yes, indeed." (*thwaps Sei with plushie*) (Wah!) Oh, all sorts of things. My rythem in the first song was off slightly, my cloth usage was pitiful, and I had nothing to fight against. * Ethan grins at Sei. "... damn, you are GOOD." Thanks...I think. * Sei rubs the back of his head again. "When this happens in every third town one visits, one tends to get good at it." Nah, seriously. In the highly unlikely event someone approached me like that, I'd probably turn into more of a babbling idiot that usual. ^_^ * Fyril shakes his head at Nebrinel, and whispers, "I didn't notice any problems," before turning to Sei. "Every third town? That often? Wow." * Ada blinks at Ethan, then laughs lightly. * Sei nods. * Ethan eyes Ada, then grins. "Now that's the kinda laugh I wanna hear!" ^_^ * Ada shakes her head. "Don't count on it." She's still smiling, though. You'll see. I'll turn you to the weird side yet. Weird side? I'd rather not go there. * Fyril nods. "I wouldn't want to see it." Sure you would, Fyril. I mean, think about it... lots and lots of people, acting just like I do! It'd be a blast! From the market down the street, the merchants begin to hawk their goods in voices that carry well through the streets of the town. * Fyril shudders. "That is possibly the scariest thing I've heard since I met you, Ethan." ( You know, Sei should really have a Barry White song as his theme, come to think of it... =P ) You say that about everything I say. (Bwahaha.) * Nebrinel wipes the small sheen of sweat from her face with hand, and looks around for a waitress to order food from. * Ada slides the rest of her breakfast to Nebrinel. "Haven't touched it, and I'm not hungry anymore." * Fyril nudges his plate towards Nebrinel, too. "It's because you keep making things scarier." * Nebrinel looks at Ada suspiciously, and Fyril too. "Perceptive today, I see." A waitress -- not the same one who Sei's set up on a date with, mind, but the one who was talking to her preiviously -- comes out. "Anything any of you need?" (^_^;) * Fyril looks at Nebrinel. "What? I'm supposed to be perceptive." I think you mean 'more interesting'... heck, scary? Me? How could this face be scary? *biggrins* * Nebrinel looks up. "No, these two have donated enough to the survival fund today." She then proceeds to eat various foods. * Ada chuckles and looks over at Ethan. "I'm sure Fyril would be more than happy to answer that." The waitress frowns, shrugs, and goes back inside. * Fyril looks at Ethan. "You don't really want an answer to that, do you?" * Ethan grins. "Lay it on me." * Nebrinel continues eating. She's quite the voracious eater, actually. * Ethan eats a coupla muffins. Mmm, muffins... * Fyril frowns slightly. "Well, that facial hair is scary. And when you grin like that, it looks like you put everyone around the table and do entertaining song numbers, which is a truly horrifying idea. Although, frankly, you look way less scary full size." ... did you just insult my goatee? * Ethan scowls. "... that goatee is a mark of honor among my people. We grow it to signify that we've completed our training and become full soldiers. Insulting my goatee is insulting everything my people stand for." * Ada blinks, slightly startled at Ethan's rare scowl. ... and where I come from, there's only one penalty for insulting a soldier's goatee. ... * Ethan reaches across the table, and squeezes Fyril's nose twice. "Honk. Honk." (sigh. One sec. Must clean a wound. ^^;) * Sei facefaults. There. Now don't do it again, or I'll hafta honk you again. * Ada facepalms. * Fyril wrinkles his face, and glares at Ethan. "What was that?" You, my dear, Fyril, have been honked. * Nebrinel eyes Ethan. "My respect for wherever you came from has gone down. Although it probably manages to keep you all alive." She then resumes eating. ... oh come on, you really think a goatee has any significane? I wear it 'cause I like how it looks, and stroking it makes for a good outlet for my relentless twitchiness. =p * Fyril sighs, and looks away from Ethan, off down the street toward the market. "That and its gong-ringing qualities, right?" He rubs his nose. Gong? What gong? The one that goes off every time you... oh, never mind. * Ethan shrugs, and munches. [Game temp-called.]
