[Wednesday, August 25, 2004.] [It's seventh period! Your first day of school is almost over! I'm sure you girls are glad.] [You're both in the girls' locker room because that's where girls go to change into their gym uniforms. The uniforms, by the way, are gray t-shirts, with a space for you to write your name above the right breast, and green shorts. Stylish.] [The room's bustling and crammed with people. That happens. Lockers are also being taken. That also happens. Where else do you put your stuff? Well?] [It also smells kind of nasty, but it *might* not be as bad as the guy's locker room. Really, the GM has no idea. She's never been in one.] [Get to it! Mini start.] (Did Jeremy take her into the girl's locker room? ^_~) (Jeremy took her as far as the gym lady would let him walk in. Which is, like, two and a half steps.) (*Snicker* He gave her the note though, right?) (Yes. She took it to show to her actual teacher.) (And men's locker rooms are nasty) (Locker rooms in general are nasty.) [There are girls in various states of undress. OMG WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT.] (Describe them. In detail.) * Veronica is already in the locker room as soon as she could have been. If she could find a locker where a bunch of girls aren't already crowded, she did. If not...well, that's up to the GM to decide. * Ivy walks into the girl's locker room, looking down the whole way until she has to look up to, well, see where she's going. She eyes the girls getting undressed, and her eyes widen in fright. She starts shaking and shoves her back into a locker in an attempt to... well, who knows, but SMACK! [Veronica found one that's kinda sorta out of the way. It's by the locker room entrance.] [That gets a the group of girls closest to Ivy to stop talking and look up and over.] * Ivy slides down the lockers to her knees, her hands holding onto her neck on both sides. [Veronica hears it!] * Veronica didn't quite take the one by the entrance. Too close. She's sighing to herself. "Well, at least that's another one out of the way.." She opens her locker and sets down her bag and is about to take off her shirt when she looks over at the thunk. "Huh?" [One of the talking girls breaks from the group to check on Ivy. She's a younger student, short, a bit cute, with black hair in a ponytail and gray eyes. They're a touch slanted. She's already in her uniform. "Are you okay?"] * Veronica just stands there and watches while someone else is looking after her. Her hands are gripping her shirt still but not lifting yet. * Ivy looks up at the girl, still shaking. She eyes her uniform and then gives her a confused look. [She looks down at Ivy and waves? Tentatively? "Hello?"] * Ivy closes her eyes for a moment and then shakingly goes for her shirt. * Ivy had dropped her uniform when she freaked and hadn't even really looked at it yet! [The girl looks around, then picks up Ivy's uniform. It's not going to do much good on the floor.] * Ivy takes off her shirt slowly, almost as if it's painful to do so. But she finally gets it all the way off! Yay! [She hands over the shirt! She's helpful!] * Veronica sighs, closes her eyes and goes back to her locker. "Figures." She takes her uniform out of the pack and shoves the rest of the pack in the locker. ( Stupid freshman stole my friend!) (Ha!) (Pfft. Veronica's got much better friends than that freak.) (*Snort*) ( Like me! Please? Pretty please?) ( ...close. Just replace the K with a Ch, the a with a y, and imagine someone, like, a thousand times cooler than you and you're there.) * Ivy blinks at the shirt and then the rest of the uniform. She stares at the clothes for a moment and then glances at the uniform the freshman is wearing. It's about that moment that she stops shaking. * Ivy also takes the shirt! * Veronica starts to pull off her shirt, then stops herself again, closing her eyes then opening them. She finishes pulling it off. Underneath she's got a black sports bra, but on her right side is a long scar just around her abdomen. [The girl looks glad now that Ivy's stopped shaking. One of her friends, this one taller and with chin-length brown hair and glasses, comes walking a bit down, though she stops and just yells, "Hey, Penny! We're gonna be late!"] * Ivy gives the freshman girl a small smile in thanks, and then changes into her uniform with not any more freak outs. Yay! [Penny turns and calls back, "Just a minute!" The other girl nods and returns to the others, where they go back to talking. Yes, very worried about being late.] * Veronica changes the rest of the way into the sweatshirt and shorts, showing off her vine tattoo around her ankle. She's in shorts! Thank god this isn't Japan. * Veronica takes off her bracelets and puts them inside before retying her hair and locking her stuff inside. All set! * Ivy is fully changed! Aww, look at how cute and normal she looks! She glances over to Veronica, her eyes staying at her tattoo a little longer than anywhere else. She doesn't, however, look at Veronica in the eyes or anywhere close. Nope! [Penny points out the little square on Ivy's uniform. "Um, you need to put your name there."] ( No, your name, not a doodle depicting untold horrors.) * Veronica doesn't seem to notice her staring. At least not yet. She puts her hands on her hips and starts to twist stretch one way, then the other...and then she sees her. She stands up fully and looks at her more steadily. "Hmmm. What a surprise, eh?" [Penny blinks and turns to look at Veronica. "Hello?"] * Veronica walks over to Penny and pats her on the back. "Thanks for helping her out, but I'll take care of it. You get to class, alright?" * Ivy looks down, attempting to see the square that her name is supposed to go into. ( This here's PC business. You NPCs can just take off.) [Penny blinks. And looks up at Veronica. "Yeah." She pauses an uncomfortable moment. "Sure. You know her?"] (Ivy has something in the way. Well, two somethings.) * Veronica eyes Ivy warily. "Somethin' like that..." (Ha!) [Another pause. Penny looks at Ivy. "You're okay with her?" Okay, so Veronica could so beat her up, but she asks it anyway.] (Hey, just because she CAN doesn't mean she has a reputation for beating people up... :P) (She LOOKS like she could beat Penny up.) (Yes. Yes she does) * Ivy looks over to Penny, over to Veronica (still not at her face), and then back to Penny. She gives a small nod that doesn't look too convincing, but hey, she nodded! ["Okay." Penny sounds unsure. She looks back at Veronica, then to Ivy. "It was nice meeting you. Good luck." And she walks off, heading back to her friends.] * Veronica glances at Ivy. "Never been in P.E. before?" * Ivy watches her go a second and then looks back down to her square. She gently pokes it. [The locker room quiets as girls gradually filter out of it.] * Ivy pauses a moment at the question, and then gives a small nod. Just make sure you stretch properly. You'll be fine..." She sighs as she watches the poking. "I can get a pen for you but really? it's easier to write the name BEFORE you put the shirt on." * Ivy takes the shirt off, this time with absolute ease. No problems with undressing this time! * Veronica walks back over towards her locker. "Real..." She stops midsentence and stares at Ivy. "Gah...you..." * Veronica turns around towards her locker. "Honestly, from what I'd heard, I expected something totally different." * Ivy walks over to Veronica's locker with her. She cocks her head at Veronica in question. Weren't you the popular one last semester? Or is that another Ivy? ( I thought those boobies were fake!) (*Snicker*) (That too!) * Ivy pinches her forehead, looking like she didn't fully understand the question. * Veronica opens up her locker. Look, she's already memorized her combination! She digs through her pack and takes out the pen. * Ivy takes the pen! Well, if she offered it. * Veronica points to the square. "Right there. You write your name right there. See? Like mine." She points to her own shirt. * Ivy glances at Veronica's shirt and then writes 'Ivy' on her shirt. Look, she can write! Usually at least the last initial too. Because teachers are horribly flighty and can't remember your name if you don't have that last initial there. [She even got it in the box!] * Ivy nods and puts a 'T.' at the end. "Hey you" is pretty common here. * Veronica holds out her hand for her pen. * Ivy gives Veronica back her pen and puts her shirt back on. * Veronica stretches her arms overhead. "Ready?" * Ivy nods and starts heading where the other girls had left from. * Veronica puts the pen away and closes her locker. She doesn't go just yet. She's staring at the lockers for a moment thinking. * Ivy doesn't wait. So rude. * Veronica just shakes her head and takes her hand away, following Ivy. [You walk into the gym! It's bright, and there are groups of girls and guys there (though the groups aren't of mixed gender). One of the teachers - an older, wiry man with gray hair and a moustache - is taking up the right corner of the gym and yelling for junior girls. He's probably your teacher.] * Veronica waves her hand at Ivy. "Come on." She jogs up past her to join her group. * Ivy eyes the moustache man warily, but follows Veronica. She doesn't jog though, just walks. [He gives the pair an annoyed look. "About time. I want you out five minutes after the bell rings, at latest. You're Veronica?"] * Veronica stops short with her group and stands up straight and tall. "Yessir!" [He nods and marks something on his clipboard. "And your friend?"] [Some of the girls wave at Veronica and Ivy. Particularly Ivy.] Uh...she's Ivy...mmm... * Ivy points at her nametag. Not to be condescending, just in a, 'hey, it's there.' * Veronica turns around. "I never caught your last name." ["Ah, Ms. Thorne." He marks something else down.] * Ivy nods. * Veronica then turns her glance over casually towards the girls. * Ivy glances at the people waving at her then. Does she recognize them? ["All right!" he says, addressing the entire group. "From now on, to help me keep attendance, when you get out we're going to meet here. You will line up in rows of five in alphabetical order and sit. This is gym class. That means no boots, no high heels, nothing but sneakers. And you have to wear socks."] * Veronica turns back towards the gym instructor and listens to his speech on how he's just plain lazy. [Ivy spots Kiki and Tammy, both waving and standing near each other. Veronica recognizes them as two other popular girls. Kiki has black hair swept fashionably to one side and tasteful make up on, making her dark eyes look even larger. Tammy's blond curls are pinned back so they don't get in her face, and she's giving Ivy a big smile.] [The teacher keeps talking. Gym, procedure, blah blah blah.] * Veronica watches the much more interesting ceiling as the gym teacher babbles. [The ceiling has lots of shiny lights. They're gym lights.] * Veronica sighs and watches the girls, eying them suspiciously. * Ivy gives Tammy a blank look. She then turns her gaze to Kiki, pauses a moment, and then gives her a shy smile and a small wave. [Kiki smiles back and whispers something to Tammy, who's... still grinning. You know those people who smile a lot? Yeah.] * Veronica glances at the instructor to see if he notices the talking. Because she SO wants them to get caught. [Right about now, the teacher's finishing up. "So today, we were going to go outside, but it's raining. We're going up to the shelf and walking and running for the period. We'll be starting soccer next week."] [He doesn't seem to have noticed, no.] [There are vague murmurs of agreement accompanied by a few groans. The teacher doesn't seem to care! "This way." And he leads the way up!] * Veronica frowns just slightly, but not too noticeably. But she does perk up at the mention of soccer! Woo! * Ivy follows the teacher! (How's Veronica feel about badminton?) * Veronica just follows, muttering to Ivy. "I hate gym teachers on an inside day. They can't think of anything to do." [He leads the way up the stairs and to the shelf that goes around the main gym.] (Badminton is not a sport. >.>) * Ivy gives a small smile at that. (Hee hee hee.) * Veronica chuckles. "That's the first time I've seen you really do that." [You get up to the shelf! He makes a vague gesture. "Counter clockwise. Get to it." Some of the girls start running, some start jogging, and others just start walking, still talking.] * Veronica claps her hand and rubs them. "Well. See you at the finish line!" She starts jogging. Not running or walking because if they're doing it for a full period, that's just silly. * Ivy watches Veronica go... and continues walking. All by herself! [Veronica gets to jogging! Kiki and Tammy come walking up to Ivy. "Ivy!" Kiki says when they reach her.] * Ivy glances over to Kiki. [Kiki smiles. Tammy's still smiling a little, and she waves.] * Ivy gives Kiki another small smile, and an unsure one at Tammy. ["How've you been?" Tammy asks as the pair falls into step with Ivy. "Are you going out with Jeremy yet?"] [Kiki sighs. "Please, like she'd do it without calling me first."] [There's a pause, and then Kiki looks at Ivy. "You didn't, right?"] * Ivy looks down at the floor, shaking her head shyly. ["Ha!" Kiki looks to Tammy. "See? You owe me five bucks."] [Tammy just rolls her eyes.] ["Fine," Tammy grumbles.] [Kiki looks to Ivy again. "So, how've you been? I didn't get a call from you all summer!"] * Ivy manages to bring her head back up to normal. Any bit of a small smile that was present has now completely faded. She doesn't say anything in response though. Shock! ["Ivy?" Kiki's switched to concern now. "Are you there?" She waves her hand in front of her eyes.] * Ivy closes her eyes for a moment as she shakes her head, and then rushes away from them. Her eyes are opened so she can see at this point! She's heading toward the locker rooms it seems. ["Wha?" Tammy asks in surprise, as Kiki just blinks.] ["Is it... something I said?"] * Veronica comes around again and sees Ivy heading off again. "Hey!" She grumbles. "Not again..." She looks for the coach as she's running. [Ivy runs! Probably for the stairs so she can go down to the locker room. Veronica, uh, jogs. The teacher teaches. Actually, he's walking the shelf, and now he's walking right up to Ivy as she runs. "Ivy, stop!"] * Ivy stops instantly at the command, her body incredibly still. [He's by her now. "Is something wrong? Do you need to see the nurse?" Right about now, Kiki and Tammy are catching up. It's a party!] * Veronica runs up to the gym teacher. "Coach, I think she's sick or something. Can I go with her?" * Veronica then eyes the other girls as they come up. * Ivy is holding her breath, but she doesn't move a muscle. ["Maybe," he says to Veronica. "Mr. Thomasas," Kiki says as they reach them, "I don't know what happened!" She's obviously distressed, and Tammy nods. Smile isn't really there right now.] (Good. Because then we'd have to kill her) ["I mean, she was... like, we were just talking about what we usually do, and I don't know!"] [Mr. Thomasas waves for Kiki to be quiet. He tilts his head to look at Ivy's face. "Ivy?"] * Ivy looks up at Mr. Thomasas, her face a plethora of emotions. She puts a hand to her stomach and then gestures to Veronica. [He nods. "All right." He looks to Veronica. "Go ahead and take her to the nurse." And then he looks to Kiki and Tammy. "You two, go get back to running."] ["Okay," Tammy says as Kiki covers her mouth, letting out a squeak and looking at Ivy with those wide, dark eyes. She lets Tammy drag her off.] * Veronica nods. "Yes teach." She puts her arm around her shoulder as she puts her own around. "Come on." She walks her down the steps. * Ivy lets her as she heads down the stairs. There's a slight tremble going on, but nothing that would have been noticeable unless you touched her. [Kiki keeps glancing over at Ivy. Tammy's talking to her.] * Veronica takes her all the way down. To the locker room! Then the nurse's office? Maybe! * Ivy takes a seat on one of the locker room benches and takes a few short breaths. * Veronica takes her hand off her shoulder, not enough to hurt her, but certainly not gently either. She gives Ivy a stern expression. "Okay, I want to know what the hell is going on. Obviously, *those* girls thought you were normal. * Ivy looks up at Veronica's face for the first time in a good couple of hours. Her face is full sadness, and she looks like she's holding back tears. Hey...hey... [Yeah, for the first time since lunch.] * Veronica frowns slightly and holds her hands out. "Don't look at me like that. You'll make me feel guilty" She sighs and shakes her head, hands on her hips. "But if I'm gonna to cover for you, I deserve to know, alright?" What happened? What did they say? * Ivy closes her eyes and takes in a deep breath. She opens her eyes after a moment and stands up. She walks over to some of the lockers and writes with her finger: 'F-I-N-D J-E-R-E-M-Y'. * Veronica looks at her oddly. "Wha? What happened?" We can't just go to the boy's side...what if they're in the locker room....or something? * Ivy shakes her head, and mouths 'History'. * Veronica rubs her head. "But we're supposed to be going to the...oh alright. What room is it?" * Ivy heads out of the locker room, and begins eyeing rooms randomly. * Ivy is also still wearing her uniform! * Veronica runs up after Ivy, still wearing her uniform too, and grabs her by the arm. She looks straight in her eyes sternly. "Listen you. I'm helping you out because I think you need help, but don't push my patience. If I'm taking you there, you stick with me. You do NOT just go wandering off like you've been doing. Got it?" * Ivy freezes as soon as Rica grabs her arms. Her head lowers, but she does nod slowly. Good. * Veronica slowly releases her grip on Ivy's arm. "Now let's walk. Together." She starts walking. "Why is this Jeremy so important anyways?" * Ivy peeks through windows of classrooms, but while walking with Veronica. If a blind is closed, she's going to go for opening the door. * Veronica sighs. "First thing to remember with you. Pad and paper. You CAN still write obviously..." * Ivy opens the door and peers in, looking for Jeremy! (Well, I assume there's one with blinds... Ahem.) [The teacher - a chubby woman in her late forties, wearing glasses and casual clothing - stops writing an equation on the board to look over at the girls. So does the rest of the class. She raises an eyebrow. "I think you're in the wrong class."] * Ivy ignores her so she can appraise the whole class. [The woman walks over, still holding her chalk. "Shouldn't you girls be in gym?"] [No Jeremy in the classroom.] * Veronica stays out of sight of the teacher, waiting for Ivy. (Once the lady's to the door, Veronica is so not out of sight. ;P) (I guess not!) * Ivy shakes her head at the woman and closes the door. She then begins to walk again... but keeps slow enough so that Veronica can walk with her. * Veronica ahehehs and takes Ivy by the arm. "We were just leaving. Come on..." [She keeps the door open and eeeeeyes the both of you.] * Veronica mutters softly to Ivy. "Do you remember the teacher's name?" * Ivy heads on with Veronica! She shakes her head and starts to go for another room. Peering in if window visible, opening if not. [The window is. Jeremy doesn't seem to be in this class.] [The teacher doesn't notice, though a couple of students do.] * Veronica then lets go of Ivy. "Well...I've got History first period. If it's the same teacher, he might be in that room." * Ivy nods and lets Veronica lead. * Veronica heads to her class. Or where her class was. Or whatever. * Nicolas is now known as Luke [Veronica leads on down the hall and up the stairs and to a classroom! The blinds are down.] * Ivy opens the door and peers in. * Luke is inside, addressing a class of seniors. * Veronica waits with Ivy and peers in too. "So really, Beowulf is-" Luke breaks off and turns to look at the door, as probably do many students. [They sure do.] * Ivy looks at Luke, recalls who he is, and then goes to shut the door. * Veronica smiles sheepishly and waves. "Hi...uh...teach. This isn't US History, is i--hey! * Veronica almost gets the door slammed in her face. * Ivy stops closing the door half-way, since Veronica started talking and all! * Luke picks up the attaché case off his desk as he strolls over to the door, saying to the class, "Excuse me for one second. Talk quietly amongst yourselves about important intellectual matters, like who's got the hots for who, while I take care of this." "Veronica, Ivy, what can I do for you?" he asks quietly as he arrives at the door. * Ivy takes her hand off the knob. [Some of the class gets to that! The rest keeps watching curiously.] I don't... * Veronica eyes the students who are watching and stops herself. "Would you rather talk in the hall?" * Ivy walks away from the door in answer. * Veronica glances at Luke for a second. "Yeah..." * Luke steps out into the hall, closing the door behind him. * Veronica sighs and rubs her brow with one hand, gesturing with the other. "Thing is...she freaked out during gym...like seriously. We're trying to find Jeremy. You have any idea where History is this period?" "Which history?" I...uh... * Veronica glances at Ivy. * Ivy looks down at the floor at hearing the freaking out part, but then glances back up to Luke. She mouths 'U.S.' "Why don't you go to the principal's office? I'm sure they can tell you," Luke suggests. "American history," he adds to Veronica, glancing at Ivy as he says it. Yeah but... "But?" * Veronica looks at Ivy for help. I guess...thanks, Mr. Mendel... * Ivy looks disappointed, but doesn't protest. [Luke realizes the problem here: They have no passes, and they're in deep trouble if they're caught without them. Also, he rather doubts the gym teacher gave them the okay to just wander everywhere and look in classrooms like this.] * Luke checks his watch for how much time is remaining in this period. (Can Luke issue hall passes or something?) (He probably already knew this and just sent the girls to the principals office because he's a bastard.) (Yes.) (And it'd look pretty weird having two girls in gym uniforms come with a hall pass signed by an English teacher) (Luke has another half hour this period.) (Yes, but Ivy's crazy and the school is obviously cutting her slack for it.) (I really wish you'd had that Mind roll be Luke trying to remember where the American history class was... :P ) (I seriously doubt he ever found out in the first place. ;P) "Would you prefer I sent another student to find out for you? I'm sure I could find a volunteer, even at the cost of missing a few minutes of my enthralling lecture." * Ivy gives Luke a small smile in appreciation. * Veronica blinks and then glances at Ivy, then back at Luke. "You'd do that for us?" ( A teacher? Being nice? And useful? The world's coming to an end!) * Luke shrugs. "How about you actually *do* the reading I assigned as homework tonight and we call it even?" He gives a grin and opens the door back to his classroom. "Come on and wait in here. You'll get in trouble standing in the hall." (Plus, you can learn about Beowulf. It's good for you!) I... * Veronica suddenly gets indignant. "Hey! Just what are you implying?" * Ivy walks into the classroom. [The noise inside is pretty loud at this point.] * Veronica mutters as she goes back into the classroom. She knew all teachers were the same. * Luke's already back in the classroom. "Okay, break's over," he says loudly. * Veronica says quietly to Luke while there's still noise. "Got some paper and a pen I can borrow?" [The sound peters off until there are just one or two murmurs to finish off those conversations, then that stops. The students look to Luke. Really, they're looking to the girls in the gym uniforms. Especially Ivy.] ( Am I not pretty? ;_;) (Well, Ivy DOES have nice legs...) * Luke nods at Veronica as he strolls back to his desk. He slides a pad that was lying on it toward the edge and sets a pen on top of it. * Ivy looks down to the floor. [There's an "ow" from the middle of the class, and the guy who said it is rubbing at the back of his head as a girl eyes him.] * Veronica takes the pad and pencil and gestures with her head to Ivy. She heads for an available pair of desks in the corner. (Umm... Does Ivy see that? She IS looking at the floor...) * Luke clasps his hands in front of him, the attaché case dangling in front of his legs, as he says to the class, "I need a volunteer to run an errand. There's no extra credit for this, but you get to miss a couple of minutes of class, so I suspect I'll find someone willing to do it." [About a quarter of the class raises their hands.] * Ivy walks after Veronica! * Luke grins. "Over half of you either are actually finding this interesting or have fallen into such a stupor you didn't hear the offer. Either way, good for you." "Although actually, does anyone know offhand where the Junior American history class happens to be?" [Those hands drop.] "Okay, well, Herbert, you made some good points earlier, so you get the job," Luke says, pointing at said student. * Veronica slides into a desk while Luke's asking for volunteers and starts tapping the pad meaningfully before handing it to Ivy. (HERBERT! *Falls over*) "See, class? Speak up and you may be rewarded." (It's especially funny for classic Trek fans.) * Ivy sits down next to her and then raises her brow at Veronica as she slides the pad over. * Veronica whispers. "I told you. If you want me to help you, you've got to tell me what's going on." And since you can't speak... * Veronica taps the pad again. [The kid gets to his feet and grins. He's tall, extremely skinny, and has red, *red* hair and freckles. Not exactly attractive. He's wearing slacks and a dress shirt.] * Luke gives Herbert his mission and a hall pass. (He's Ryan as a kid) (But then he wouldn't have heard the offer. :P ) [Herbert takes his mission, actually *salutes*, and walks off to do it. Er, after checking out Ivy again. He has a purpose!] (If his name were, y'know, Herbert and he had hearing) * Ivy frowns at that. She picks up the pencil and writes, 'Jeremy will explain.' * Veronica shakes her head. "I don't *want* him to explain. I want *you* to." * Luke starts talking about how obviously, whoever wrote Beowulf couldn't spell worth a damn, but it's still a great story. He's ignoring Veronica and Ivy. * Ivy pauses a very long time. She finally writes, 'Friend. She doesn't know.' * Veronica just looks at that and...peers at Ivy. * Ivy won't meet Veronica's gaze. She puts down the pencil. [The class doesn't exactly ignore Veronica and Ivy, but a few of them pay attention to the teacher!] * Veronica snatches the pad and writes down furiously. "Who the hell are you?" * Ivy blinks at the question. After a pause, she points at 'Ivy' on her shirt. (Ask a stupid question... ^_~) (Ivy T, yet.) (Ivy's a boobie!) (Yes! ... To both!) (Is anyone being so actively inattentive Luke needs to deal with it, or just sneaking glances?) (Just sneaking glances.) * Veronica just eyes her for a while, steadily getting colder and colder, and then takes the paper from the pad and tears it. * Ivy hugs her arms in close to her and closes her eyes. (Luke does not ask if anyone had seen The Thirteenth Warrior, though.) * Veronica slumps down in her chair and crosses her arms, turning away from Ivy. Hmmph. (I haven't!) [Class goes on for a few more minutes, and then Herbert returns! He sets a slip of paper and the pass on Mr. Mendel's desk before going back to his seat. What a model student!] [Herbert sits in the front row, by the way.] [FRONT AND CENTER.] (He's Krista's other self!) ( Herbert's mine!) "Thank you." Luke glances back at Ivy and Veronica. [Herbert beams! He gets a few glares. Stupid teacher's pet.] * Veronica comes up to the front of the class. She seems mildly irate but she's trying to hide it. * Luke hands her the paper after glancing at it. * Ivy has her eyes closed! So yeah, she doesn't notice what's up. Thus, she stays seated. (Paper: Do Not Pass Go. Do Not Collect $200.00) "Ivy?" * Veronica nods her head in thanks and then heads out. If Ivy follows, that's her business. (Paper: All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. All work and...) * Ivy opens her eyes and looks over to Luke. * Ivy sees Veronica head out then! She stands up solemnly and heads out the door. * Luke resumes his lecture. It is educational. * Veronica doesn't wait up. In fact, she might be walking purposely fast. Who knows? (Note that I cannot bluff a Beowulf lecture nearly as easily as a Shakespeare one.) * Ivy doesn't speed up to catch up with her, but she does follow in her direction. (Grendel is bad, mmkay. Beowulf is teh strongest man in teh WURLD!) (Grendel's mom: also bad.) (Yes.) (I can do that level, but I can't bluff a full session lecturing on it.) (Come on, these are high school seniors. That's about the level of lecture they need.) (You could talk about Beowulf's death and how it signifies that doing deeds out of selfishness means you lose favor with the gods! But that'd be after they actually read it.) (See, that's the level I can't do without going and studying it first.) (Whereas I can do Hamlet- or Caesar- just off what I know.) [You girls are now out of the door. With a slip of paper! It has a room number on it and Jeremy's name.] * Veronica looks at the paper and walks down the hall! (Wow. Jeremy teaches the class!) (Yes. Yes, he does.) * Ivy follows Veronica! Still behind though. (But he's not as cool a teacher as Luke. :P ) (Luke is totally lame. He gave HOMEWORK first day of class!) (Ha.) (Everyone KNOWS first days are for goofing off and for the teachers to babble to no end about themselves) (*Nod* Totally a rookie. ^_~) (And take role. He didn't even do that) (Everyone's commented on that. Next session, I will *totally* waste five minutes of RPing taking roll.) [Veronica goes down the hall! Actually, the classroom's nearby, just around the corner.] (All you'd have to do is "Luke calls the role" really :P) * Veronica walks up to the door and gets behind it, leaning against the wall. "Look. I'll wait here, but you have to get him out here." * Ivy walks over to the door and opens it up. * Veronica stays out of sight for now. * Ivy looks around for Jeremy after she does so. [Ivy opens the door! There's a teacher; in fact, he's the same one Veronica has. He's a little shorter than average, with medium build and brown eyes, a conservative haircut, and a moustache. He's also talking about how the world is flat and gesturing with a cup of steaming coffee. The class is actually paying attention.] [She also sees Jeremy, third row back and on the side. He glances over when the door opens and blinks.] * Ivy walks in and takes a deep breath in relief as she sees Jeremy. * Veronica clears her throat pointedly from outside. * Ivy walks over to the teacher and points to Jeremy as if that should answer everything. [Mr. Gillette (as Veronica would identify him) looks over at Ivy. He stops talking about the world being flat and switches to, "Did you lose your boyfriend?"] [Jeremy actually blushes a little. He gets to his feet. "Sorry, Mr. Gillette."] * Ivy looks down shyly at hearing that. [The class snickers.] (Is he the best a man can get?) (Why don't you ask him that one class, Rica?) [He turns to Ivy. "I'm sorry, but I'm teaching a class here. Can you wait in the hall?"] * Ivy shakes her head fiercely and then rushes to Jeremy and hugs him so tightly you'd think she'd just been attacked by killer ducks... or something. [He blinks. "Uh." One guy near the back lets out a shrill whistle, and the class breaks into another fit of giggles. Mr. Gillette coughs.] * Ivy doesn't let go. She begins to slightly tremble, but it's nothing too noticeable to the viewers. [Jeremy hugs Ivy. "Um." He looks up to Mr. Gillette. "Uh, can we be excused?"] [Gillette frowns, but he nods. "Just out into the hall."] ( SCORE!) (Hee hee.) (Two chicks at once too!) [Jeremy leads Ivy out of the hall as the class continues their murmuring and whispering and laughing. "Yes, ha ha, funny, quiet down!" Gillette half-yells, waving his coffee as they leave.] * Ivy allows herself to be lead, still clutching tightly a hold of Jeremy though. [They make it out of the hall, too! As soon as they're out, Jeremy looks down at his clingy !girlfriend. "What's wrong, Ivy?"] [He either hasn't noticed Veronica or doesn't care.] * Veronica waits for the door to shut and then half-waves. "Hey." She suddenly lunges forward and takes him by the shirt, backing him up against the wall forcefully in a tight grip. * Ivy slowly pries herself away from Jeremy. And then her eyes WIDEN as Veronica does that! She looks totally FREAKED... again. ["Gah!" Jeremy manages, totally undignified as he gets shoved into a locker. He winces. "The hell was that for?"] * Ivy looks completely panicked. * Veronica gets right up in his face and sneers. "You've got some explaining to do." She lets go of his shirt and wipes her hands on the front of her gym shirt. "Your girlfriend almost got me detention. Just what the hell is going on between you two?" [He glares at Veronica. "You shove me into a fucking locker and you want me to 'explain' things to you?"] * Veronica eyes Jeremy carefully. "I could beat the answer out of you if you'd like. But that won't do either of us any good." [He looks at Ivy, then back to Veronica. "What'd you do to her?"] * Veronica then looks at Jeremy at the accusation. "Nothin'. I don't hurt people without a reason." * Veronica thumbs at Ivy. "She said you do." [Jeremy rubs at the back of his head a bit.] * Veronica sighs and calms down a little. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lose my temper like that. But seriously, what the hell is going on?" ["I don't know."] * Veronica frowns. "Okay. Look, I walked her this far...I at least deserve that much." * Ivy sets her back to some lockers and uses them to slide down to the floor. She starts holding her neck with both hands and lightly rocks. ["Fuck you," Jeremy says eloquently before going to check on Ivy.] * Veronica glances at Ivy and sighs, deflating fully. "I'm not going to hurt him. Geez." * Veronica eyes Jeremy at that. "Funny way of treating me after I took care of your girl for you. Twice today." ["No you didn't. 'Sides, I didn't shove *you* into a fucking locker." He crouches by Ivy and softens his voice. "Hey, Ivy. You okay?"] * Veronica closes her eyes tight and balls her hand into a fist, slamming it against the locker. "Look. I said I'm sorry alright?" She starts to walk off. [Jeremy doesn't call after her. OMG HE IS HEARTLESS.] * Ivy looks to Jeremy and stops rocking. She flinches at Veronica's hitting the locker. [Jeremy doesn't. "You're okay, right? Did something bad happen?"] * Ivy slowly takes one of her hands from her neck and moves it shakingly to his neck. She gives a small nod. [Jeremy doesn't move when she does that. "Well, it's okay now."] [Meanwhile, Veronica walks off! Where, no one knows.] * Veronica heads back towards class! [Veronica goes to gym. What a good student.] (You know it) * Ivy moves in to hug him once again! Wow, she IS clingy! [Jeremy hugs her back, smoothing her hair. "It'll be okay, Ivy. Everything'll be okay."] [Mini End!]
